Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Capturing the witch (a)

The King's seat was occupied by a woman but not the Queen. The king was nowhere to be found. The guards were looking much different from the people I have ever seen in my entire life. They were dressed like the ancient Egyptian guards. They were wearing skirts with no shirts and they were bare-footed.

They held spears, swords and were mean-looking. The palace looks as if it is located in the middle of an ancient city. From the palace tower, you can see the ancient city.

The woman on the throne was acting like an ancient witch. She has affected the whole land with her black magic power. She had used her scoceries and witchcraft to put the citizens under hard labour. They were all in captivity under her government.

I wondered where the king, the queen, and the chief were. I couldn't see the General and modern military and police personnels and their sophisticated equipment in the city. But i could see in the city, guards who are unfriendly enforcing the evil rule of the witch on the citizens.

As the Prince was wondering what might have happened to the king and why is it that another woman is occupying the king seat, he woke up to realize it was a nightmare. He was troubled.

Princess Linda is fast asleep besides him. He pondered for some time then said a short prayer before returning back to sleep.

Early in the morning, Princess Linda had woken up and was getting set for work. She now works with the Prince in the palace. She has resigned her appointment with Deta Petroleum Corporation. She was returning from the bath room when the Prince was waking up.

Good morning, my Prince, Linda greeted. Good morning, my Princess, Prince responded. You look tired this morning. Hope all is well, Linda asked. Yes, I'm okay. It's just that I had a nightmare. And when I woke up in the middle of the night it took me some time to sleep again. What really happened?, Linda asked. I was frighten by the dream. So I couldn't sleep again for about two hours. I was actually pondering over the dream before I finally slept again. I guessed that's why I'm looking tired. It was a gruesome sight. I wished such dream will not come to pass, the Prince said with a serious look. Let me get set for work too. I can see you're set already. I will shower then get dress in a little while. I will join you at the dinning table, the Prince said releasing Linda to proceed to have her breakfast. I will wait in the sitting room until you dress up and join me. We would have the breakfast together, Linda chuckled. The Prince laughed! And said; I love that my Princess. I won't be long.

After the breakfast, they both walked down to the office complex not far from their apartment. The Prince and the Princess are now designated to assist the king in royal prerogative functions. They worked daily to support the king and the queen in any capacity the king deemed fit.

After the Prince had attended to some of the pressing issues that morning, he excussed himself from the office to see the king for discussion. He knew from experience that dream he had that frighten him like the last dream should not be kept to himself alone. He needs to inform the king. So he proceeded to the king's office to disclose the dream to him.

After the Prince had greeted the king, he was offered seat. Richmond, how are you? How is the Princess? What bring you to my office this morning? The king inquired. Dad, I had a nightmare and I'm bothered. You haven't called me dad in a long while now. You always referred to me, as my king which makes me feel I'm far away from my son. But now that you've call me dad, it makes me feel it is father and son that's relating. What's the dream about my son? And why are you frightened? King asked. In my dream I saw a woman occupying your seat. The guards were like Egyptian ancient guards and mean-looking. And the people of the city in serious agony from oppression of the new ruler. It was an horror sight, Prince intimated his father. It was just like one of the ancient Egyptian movies. When I awake, I was frighten for some of the way people were being treated by the guards in the city. I looked for you, the queen and the chiefs and I couldn't find any of you. The military and police forces were nowhere to be found just an old filthy city with mean guards oppressing innocent people. That sound barbaric, son, the king retorted.

We need to know the interpretation, son. We would have to call the Priest, Reverend Beckley immediately. I'm sure he would have an answer for us.

The king called the priest on his phone. Good morning, Reverend. How are you? Reverend Beckley responded; I'm fine, my king. How is queen and the rest of the family, and the member of chiefs. We are fine, my Priest. Please, I need you to come to the palace for an urgent matter, king stated. Okay, I will come over as soon as possible, Reverend Beckley responded as he end the phone conversation with the king.

Son, you don't need to return to your office yet. Just wait for some time here till the Priest arrives. We need to know the meaning of the dream to know how to go about resolving the impending matters.

The Priest arrived twenty five minutes later. After they had exchanged greetings, The Prince narrated the dream again to the Priest. He pondered over the dream the Prince narrated for about 10 minutes before he started talking.

King, the Prince's dream is a negative one but God will give us victory. King and Prince listened attentively to the words of the Priest. The woman, the witch, in the dream are your adversaries who are bent on taking over your throne but they will not succeed. The adversary is trying to use a witch to bring down your reign. The guards in Egyptian ancient military uniform in the dream are the military and police personnels the witch had seduced with her scocery and black magic power. They had become agent of the devil and that's why they were mean-looking and carrying out rule of terror and oppression on the people. But they will not success because the king will surely defeat them.

Just don't panic my King and Prince. You should continue your good work in the city. The Priest then left the palace after he had interpreted the dream for the King and the Prince.
