Rita knew that there was something wrong and that Rexana didn't say anything. She came back to her bed to talk to her.
"I just waited for your papang to sleep before I'll ask you this." She took a deep breath and continued. "Did you try to escape from the resort?"
Rexana couldn't bear to stare at her mamang. She never got used to lying to her parents. It was only just recently since she met Daerin and fell in love, was only when she had been lying to them.
However, even in that case, she still couldn't bear hiding from her parents. Her reason was that she knew that she could trust them and they trusted her. She didn't want that trust to be broken, she wanted to always be worthy of it. With that, she decided to tell her mom the truth.
"Mom, something happened during the party. A lot had happened. I think Daerin didn't really love me." Her tears began to fall.
"Why did you say that? Tell me what happened."
