Atticus' POV:
I almost couldn't believe my ears. I stared at Eloise in the video and almost forgot to retort.
How could she say that? Did she say that to get my attention?
"Are you still listening? I hope we can finalize some specific matters as soon as possible." She coughed a few times.
I returned to reality.
"I don't want to hold you from your work, so I think maybe we can still..."
"You don't know what you're talking about," I interrupted her.
"You don't know what consequences your words will cause."
"No, I'm very clear. I've seriously considered everything I'm doing now." She sounded very serious. I now believed that she wanted to divorce me.
But why would she divorce me? If we must end our marriage, she shouldn't be the one to suggest it.
Could it be that the person we saw that day was her new lover?
