Constance's POV:
Baron came to see me again and told me there would be another prayer session tomorrow.
Although I was physically exhausted, I agreed.
I was useless, and being in the pack until now had been difficult. If I could not even fulfill this small request, I was afraid I would never be able to hold my chin up in the pack again.
The next day.
The Saintess brought me to the altar.
The altar was filled with people.
I felt that gaze that made me uncomfortable.
I lowered my gaze and didn't look at the man in the crowd, trying to keep calm.
But I underestimated the influence this man had on me.
Under his gaze, the prayer session was challenging. I made several mistakes and slowed down the progress of the prayer.
There were many mocking voices in the crowd.
"Why does the Moon Goddess temple insist on keeping such a person?"
"This is the shame of the Central Pack!"
"Even a human can do this better than her."
The rumors were like tiny bugs drilling into my ears, giving me a splitting headache.
The prayer finally ended.
The crowd dispersed.
After the Saintess left, my legs went weak, and I couldn't hold on any longer. I tried to get out of here.
But I was so weak that I tripped and fell. Just as I was about to fall off the altar, a figure rushed over and caught me.
It was him!
Alpha Terrance!
I looked at him in shock.
This was the first time I looked at him carefully.
His eyes were beautiful, dark blue, but they were ice cold.
My chest was hurting again!
Alpha Terrance felt something was wrong with me. He looked at me seriously and asked, "What's wrong with you?"
Declan rushed out of the crowd. He looked at me nervously and tried to take me away from Terrance.
Terrance looked at Declan with a hint of anger.
Declan sensed Terrance's hostility and transformed into a red wolf, and growled at Terrance.
Terrance sneered. He put one arm around me and looked at Declan provocatively. "If you can take her away from me," he said. "She's yours."
I was shocked! A surge of anger and sadness came over me.
I didn't know why I was so angry, but Terrance's words hurt.
Declan was also enraged by his words. He lunged forward and tried to bite Terrance's throat when he wasn't looking.
Terrance reacted quickly, dodging Declan's attack and ambushing Declan, kicking him far away.
I watched in shock!
Terrance was able to defeat Declan so easily without transforming! He was so strong! It seemed like Katy was telling the truth!
Declan didn't expect Terrance to be so strong. For the first time in his life, he had lost, and it was because of Terrance. He couldn't even fight back.
I was afraid that Terrance would attack Declan again. If Terrance continued to fight with him, Declan would die!
Seeing Declan's injured expression, I couldn't help but grab Terrance's hand and bite down hard.
There was only so much I could do to help him!
Terrance let go of me in pain, his eyes filled with shock. He probably didn't expect me to treat him like this.
I turned around and gave him a backhand slap. "Shameless!"
Terrance looked at me with a face full of anger, that gaze of wanting to eat me up!
I was finished!
Just when I thought I would die, Terrance suddenly grabbed my shoulders with both hands and stared at me.
My whole body shook, and I felt an uncontrollable pain in my chest!
This time the pain was more intense than ever and almost tore me apart.
I was going to die!
Terrance's POV:
I didn't expect this woman to hate me to this extent.
She fought against me for a weak man.
I also didn't expect that I would want to mark her out of anger!
But unexpectedly, her body rejected my mark. It was like a door had closed on her body. I couldn't communicate with her mind.
How could this be?!
Roblox rushed over and forcefully separated the two of us.
"Terrance, you're mad! You almost killed this woman!" Roblox looked at me in shock. "She's Alpha Baron's daughter! Do you know what you're doing?!"
Only then did I come to my senses.
What had happened to me just now? Why did I seem to have lost my mind?
Seeing her go against me for that weak man, I couldn't hold back my anger!
I was her mate!
Alpha Baron rushed over.
He was holding this woman. I thought he would vent his anger on me, but he didn't say anything. He looked sad.
"I only wanted to mark her," I said. "I didn't expect her to be like this."
When the red-haired man heard me say this, he looked at me in shock.
I didn't want to talk to him.
Alpha Baron looked at me hard and warned me politely, "You can't mark Constance."
"Why? Because she's a saintess?" I didn't understand.
Alpha Baron didn't answer me and left with Constance.
I wanted to chase after her, but Roblox stopped me. "Terrance, don't be rash!"
I stood there in disappointment and watched Baron leave with the woman in his arms.
"Terrance, admit it. You're in love with this woman," Carl screamed in my head. "You can't live without her!"
Love?
No way!
How could I love a good-for-nothing?
