Well shit. I can't believe that actually worked. There was two things that could've happened, I've made the wrong call and was about to get beat up for stealing from some dude or it really was the actual guy I wanted to learn from. "While I can't personally decide if you can learn the mystic arts or not, I am willing to bring you to Kamar-Taj to meet with my Master. Only they can decide if you can be admitted into the ways." Kaecilius spoke to me while guiding me towards the entrance to Kamar-Taj. We made our way through the busy and bustling streets before shortly arriving at the simple and nonchalant door.
WHAT THE FUCK I'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE! I was jumped just right around the corner a few weeks ago by a few older kids because they saw me, a new kid in town, walking around with a backpack that's beyond what any of them could ever afford. Looking back it was a pretty good training exercise honestly. I needed a chance to hone my skills and continue my training and they were perfect practice dummies that volunteered for the job. Of course I also made it a fair fight by letting a few of them land their hits on me so I could build up my endurance. If I can't even take a punch from a group of kids, how am I going to survive a much from someone of Thor or the hulk's caliber. That being said, I don't think those boys would be walking around for a while. I may have been named Silk Touch for being born smooth and quickly, but I don't pull my punches on those trying to cause me harm because fuck em. If I don't teach them a lesson then who will.
We entered the simple looking door and after a few minutes of walking through the empty corridor we soon arrive at an area that looks far too luxurious for the style of the front door. "Please child, forget everything that you knew from before. The Ancient one will see you now." Keacilius stopped at the entrance of a large room that was occupied by a desk and a couple of people, he turns around and gesture with his hand to let me go.
Man do that always use the same gimmick for everyone? I slowly step into the room as some of the students walk up to me to begin removing my jacket and backpack. Out of instincts I launch out a kick towards the one on my left and grab on to the arm of the one on my right before flipping them over my shoulder. "What the fuck do you think you're doing!" I twist the arm of the student in front of me while looking around with fear and anger in my eyes. I turn to look at Keacilius and I can see a slight smirk on his face.
"Take a breath young one." A smooth and calm feminine voice spoke from behind me as I turn my head to see where she is. "This is a place of knowledge and peace. No one here is out to harm you." A blad woman in white robes slowly walk towards me with a cup of honey in her hands. "I know you are feeling scared and anxious but nothing from your personal belongings will go missing." She put on a warm smile while trying to assure me.
I let out a deep exhale before let go of the student's arm. "My apologies to you and the masters around us." I help the students get up from the floor. "I've been on my own for a while now so I'm always on high alert when my back is exposed to strangers." I giggle a little before handing my backpack and jacket to the two students. I turn to look at the Ancient one and bow deeply towards her with my hands together.
"SiChou you've had a long journey here. Why don't you have some tea before we discuss your apprenticeship." Another student hand me a ceramic cup while another pour some green tea into the cup. The Ancient one walked closer before scooping two tablespoons of honey into my cup. Soon after the other students and masters begin to vacate the room leaving just the two of alone.
I sit down in one of the empty chairs next to the desk as the Ancient one does the same on the other side. I stir around the slowly dissolving honey in my cup before taking a slow and long sip. "So what shall we talk about ma'am?" I spoke in English.
"I'm not surprised that a child your age can understand what the mystic arts is and have the desire to learn about it. As in the old days even those your age of younger were considered geniuses beyond their peers. What I am surprised about is your life..." The Ancient one pauses to take a sip of her drink while letting me digest her words. "You're not even supposed to be alive-"
"nor be born and have a fate at all." I finished her sentence for her. "Then you must know why I'm here." I smile at her in a childish way while setting down my now emptied cup.
"For someone who's not supposed to exist and has no fatelines, you sure know a lot about yourself." She takes another sip. "More tea?" She slides a teapot closer to me.
"Why thank you. My little arms can't really reach across this desk of yours." I giggled before pouring myself another cup of tea with no honey. "I've done a lot of guessing growing up. My family is full of monsters and my lineage goes back hundreds of years with half of it coming from a different dimension entirely. So I had a lot of time to ponder on what I am but they're only hypotheses with no actual solid evidence." I take a sip of the simple unsweetened tea. "Which is why I'm here." I smile at her.
"Ah so you hope to find the answers to your existence. Well there's been plenty before you that came for the same reason and although you are young compare to many of our students. You are welcome to join our school but first you need to open your eyes" She reach over the desk and press her thumb onto the middle of my forehead. Next thing I know I was falling backwards on my chair as time slowly comes to a halt. My pupils dilate to it's widest degree and I was exploring the vast multiversal cosmos within the finite infinity.
