"Well, yes, of course! I need it to check your fit, and voila, here are the dresses that would fit you perfectly. What do you think?" Milly sounded really ecstatic and excited as she was presenting the dresses she made by herself.
"Those dresses sure look so alluring and… expensive." Cassandra's joyous tone was suddenly replaced with hesitancy when she suddenly thought that the dresses were out of her league. She looked at Greyson who had his hand resting on his chin like he was really inspecting the dresses in front of them.
"Hey, Greyson? What are you thinking about? Can you help me with this?" She asked him in a low tone of voice, calling out to the man next to her.
"Hm, what do you think, Greyson? You couldn't tell which one fits your fiancee, huh? Don't worry, me too. I think all of these are perfect for Cassandra in a lot of ways." Milly's ecstatic tone remained.
He was just nodding continuously while looking at Milly and the dresses. "Let's see what you got for now." He said in his neutral tone of voice.
"Get ready, Greyson and Cassandra because I'm going to tour you to Hollywood's bridal fashion show." She said, gesturing her hands exaggeratedly.
Cassandra leaned over to him and whispered, "I don't know where this is going, Greyson. Are you sure about this?" right into his ear. Her eyes were showing hesitation, but he was only looking at her, telling her to just hear Milly out.
Milly was standing in front of them while Cassandra and Greyson sat down on the couch. "Your wedding is the ultimate fashion close-up, requiring nothing less than a once-in-a-lifetime gown. The most stunning alternatives combine inventive design with the most skilled methods of the world's leading seamsters. Behold the finer points of these unforgettable gowns."
She took the first wedding dress to the left and presented it to them. "Full-Flanged. Take a look at this; here is proof that you can get a lot of texture and a lot of volume with a single sophisticated sweep. Seamstresses linked scores of fabric strips and arranged them in an eye-catching pattern to construct the skirt. This dress will definitely look good on her." Milly was looking so happy while explaining the details of the dress.
Cassandra didn't know how she should react to it, because by the looks of the gown, it appeared so expensive that she didn't even want to touch it. On the other hand, Greyson didn't seem impressed with the look.
"That's gorgeous, however, the sides should be a little tighter. I bet that will not fit on her. Proceed with the next gown." The seriousness in his voice made Milly gulp and her gaze shifted to Cassandra.
Milly tried to be as energetic as ever, then she rolled the dress on the mannequin. "Here's our next one, Greyson. I'm sure this lovely dress will pique your interest." She looked at Greyson and Cassandra, then a smile flashed through her face.
"Authentic Lace. Because the handcrafted version has no backing, it is attractive on all sides. I used needles or bobbins to braid, loop, and twist an unending amount of thread to make this outfit." Milly said while looking at the details. It was an A-line gown which was slightly more flowy than a ball gown. The gown was a masterpiece, a lot of celebrities would go for it, but Greyson seemed unimpressed once again.
"M-May I ask how much does that gown cost?" Cassandra asked Milly in a low tone of voice.
She smiled at Cassandra and looked at the gown's price tag. "Oh, this one? This baby is yours for only $100,000. This is actually one of the cheapest, but don't worry, Greyson and I will be the ones to talk about the fees and everything." She told her as if the price was just normal.
Cassandra's eyes were left wide open and her jaw almost dropped. "W-What? A hundred grand? Just for a single wedding dress?" She asked in disbelief, then her gaze shifted to Milly, the gown, and Greyson.
After a few minutes, Milly was done presenting all of the dresses to them, however, Greyson seemed to be so disappointed with the dresses. He stood up with his hands crossed across his chest and he had a poker face. Cassandra and Milly just looked at him firmly as he wasn't saying a word while looking at the dresses lined up.
"So, have you decided on what dress fits your fiancee perfectly, Greyson? In my opinion, I guess you should go for the–"
"Milly, I think we're lost in translation." He told Milly in a serious tone of voice.
Her forehead creased and laughed nervously, then she asked, "What do you mean?"
Greyson began to walk forward and inspected the dresses accordingly. "I told you to present us the gown that would make my fiancee the most beautiful bride during that day, but these gowns are just too plain and boring. It's also sickening to look at these dresses." He firmly told her straightforwardly.
Milly was taken aback by his straightforwardness and bowed her head. "I'm sorry. I still have a lot of dresses that you can choose from and if you would just give me time, I will arrange it for you." She said in a hurry, but Greyson just shook his head left and right.
"No, you don't have to do any of that now that I have seen these."
She paused for a few seconds and Cassandra could see that Milly's eyes were building up tears. She could also see that her hands began to shake. "T-then are you going to cancel our transaction?" Milly asked,
Greyson scoffed and shook his head once again. "No, silly. Of course not. I trust your taste when it comes to dresses, but this time, I really want more of you."
"What do you mean?" Milly asked once more.
"I want a custom-made dress for my fiancee for our wedding. I want her to wear something new to the eyes of the people. A wedding gown that only she could have." Greyson told Milly in a serious tone of voice.
"What? Custom-made dress?" Cassandra suddenly blurted out of the blue.
Cassandra wanted to protest because she knew how expensive the dresses were, and she was sure that it would cost Greyson triple if he would order a dress that was made specifically for her.
The dresses were already exceeding her expectation, what more if they would go for a custom-made gown? She wouldn't be able to pay for it even if she would work her entire life.
