Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

The weekend passed and Opal couldn't stop thinking about her first date. Bran and his smile. Opal sat at the chair and drank some tea made of herbs. Today was a special day. Today she turned 18. She will be able to sense her mate. She already knew it wasn't Bran as he was older and didn't recognize her as a mate. There were many couples that weren't fated but still cherished each other. That much she knew. She was curious how it feels to find your fated mate. Will she be drawn to her mate and fall in love immediately? What happens with Bran then? She may also be rejected. She heard it is very painful. Fuck it what ever happens, she will deal with it, as always.

The spring was coming closer and the snow started to melt creating wet puddles on the road to the city. The sun was shining and it wasn't that cold anymore. Opal felt inner warmth. With a smile she approached the school gates. She wasn't looking at the ground, not today. Today she felt strange confidence. She even decided to leave her headpiece in the locker. Wearing the school uniform and with a very light make up for the first time she didn't want to be invisible anymore. Her classmates were looking at her with curiosity. Some of them saw her loose hair for the first time. At the door to the math classroom she came across Julie. The Omega wasn't alone, she was accompanied by three other girls eyeing Opal from head to toes.

"Well well, who would have thought that you are such s slut. Has Bran already fucked you? Do you spread your legs for any Alpha who will get a slight interest with you" She said with a mischievous smile on her face. Her friends giggled in supporting anticipation.

"Oh Julie such harsh words, but no wonder. What else could have come out of that dirty mouth of yours? You should at least wash yourself properly, you reek of Joyel's pheromones and not only.'' The shock on Julie's face was the best birthday present she could imagine.

"Girls don't stand in the way, get inside." - the math teacher suddenly appeared behind Opal.

"Yes Mrs. Burns." Opal smiled and stepped in.

Julie was throwing furious looks in her directions but Opal didn't mind it. She looked out of the window not really interested in equations. Then she saw him. Standing at the gate and looking at the school building, it was Bran. He was wearing black jacket and black jeans. Opal couldn't wait for the lesson to finish. As soon as the bell rang she sprung with all her books packed and headed for the locker. She took out her coat and went out. He noticed her at once and waved. Opal walked with a big smile in his direction. Bran came closer with his arms wide opened and gave her a tight hug, then he kissed her

"I missed you." Opal's heart skipped a bit after hearing his words.

"Well I'm glad to see you too. What brings you here?" she asked, setting herself free from his arms.

"Well you of course."

"You always know what to say." Opal laughed.

"That's a part of my irresistible charm." he brushed his fingers through his hair. "I'm here actually because I want to make you do something really bad."

"Like what?" the curiosity became visible on her face.

"Like you and me go for a run together, right now and you will skip your lessons, and have fun with the furry me." Bran flashed another smile.

"Oh, hmm I don't know. You see I have that history lesson ahead, about the political situation in Europe in the XIX century. It's so fascinating …" - she bit her lip pretending to think about it very hard.

"If you dump me because of a history lesson I will go and die of shame. Don't make me die so young please." He made the cutest puppy eyes and Opal was a goner.

Jayden was standing at the window and looking at the scene next to the gate. Bran was there in all his glory, spreading his arms to hug what didn't belong to him. What was worse she allowed him to touch her and they kissed in front of everyone, in front of him. He clenched his fingers in fists. His breathing became irregular. Jayden didn't realize it but his pheromones became aggressive, making a few Omegas standing not far away from him to shake and some other Alphas to move away. His face became darker. He watched them talking, laughing and then going together out of the school grounds. Jayden's imagination went wild. Where were they going? Is Bran going to fuck her in his car.

"Jayden, Jayden!" – it took him a while to realize that someone was calling him. Jayden turned around.

"Jayden for fuck's sake what are you doing?!" he saw Noah standing with pale face leaning against the wall and further back a few shaky Omegas crying and one even kneeling on the floor.

"Your pheromones are suffocating. Stop it!" Noah's voice brought him back to his senses.

"Sorry, I didn't know I was so pissed." - Jayden sighed with annoyance." I'm sorry" He said louder for others to hear.

"I need a break."

"You certainly do." Noah nodded.

Jayden stormed out of the school and headed for his car. As soon as he got in he slammed his hand against the wheel. What's wrong with him, standing and looking from afar? Getting angry and showing everyone his weakness. That's not how he was trained, that's not how a real Alpha should act. It's high time for him to do something about it. The matter was problematic, he cannot use force against Bran. They are both in the warriors training. Jayden must be clever and make Bran understand that Opal is not available, that she is a bad choice. That's right. He knew what to do.

Bran shifted and waited for Opal to join him. His wolf was more than happy to spend time with Opal. He still had in his mind the sight of her white fur and how graceful she moved between the trees. He also felt ashamed for falling into the trap despite her warning. Today he wanted to show off a bit. He already planned a route. He will be able to present himself as a real Alpha and maybe get something more than just kisses. Since that night in the cinema Opal got stuck in his mind never letting go. He heard her light paws. Bran watched her for a moment and then came closer rubbing his nose against Opal's and waving his tail from excitement. The Omega responded with a few rough licks along his muzzle. Then she lowered her head and barked. It was an invitation to fool around.

Soon they were running along the creek, Bran was leading, he had a perfect spot ready for them. It was a small waterfall surrounded by rocks and thick forest. There he placed a furry blanket with two sleeping bags and a basket with food. There was also some wood prepared to make a bonfire. That's what Opal saw as they reached this charming spot. Bran shifted and Opal could see exactly what this Alpha had to offer.
