When she opened the door again Beta Jakson simply made his way into her house followed by another Beta and three Alphas. The last one was the well known asshole from the school. Double fuck. They were all muscular and broad shouldered warriors of the pack. Her only room became even smaller when she closed the door. Opal didn't encourage them to sit, she only had two chairs and an unmade bed. They all looked around with unreadable expressions.
"So, this is where you live" Beta Jackson started their small talk.
"As you see." She replied dryly. She knew she was poor. No need to wipe it in front of her face.
"You don't have electricity here?"
"No."
"Running water?"
"No. So don't count on coffee or a tea invitation. Are you here to talk about my living conditions, or is the rent going up due to the splendid view I have here?"
Beta Jakson smirked.
"No, we are going to check the rogue you told me about. You said he is in a ditch"
"Yes, about eight to ten kilometers from here, almost at the north border."
"You seem to know the grounds here."
"Yes this is my hunting territory. I've been living here for the past ten years, so yes, I know every bush." Opal admitted.
"You go hunting here alone?" A blonde Alpha asked with a hint of suspicion in his voice.
"Do you see anyone else living here?" She looked him straight in the blue eyes. She noticed they all looked at her with wide opened eyes. Their looks were weird, as if they were looking through her clothes. She wasn't used to this sort of interest. She always wore over sized shapeless clothes. For the first time she was without a headpiece and her long white hair was visible for everyone. Opal had dark almost black eyes with long lashes and equally black eyebrows. This contrast made her stand out. She was middle sized and her body was all muscles, well almost all. She had breasts, but not too big. Just average size. Opal could be considered a really fine looking Omega, well even a real beauty. She suddenly felt uneasy.
"Well it's quite a distance, so if you want to return by daylight, I advise you to move right now. This ditch is not easy to find." She looked down at her bare feet.
"No need, you will lead us there" - Beta Jakson decided.
Opal wasn't happy about it, but somehow she knew there was no other option. First however she had to make something clear.
"If I'm to lead, then remember to follow close behind me. There are many traps here and you can end up hurt or even dead."
"Yeah, right," one of the Alphas laughed. "And you know them all."
"Yes, I learned it by experience – she said raising the left sleeve revealing a long scar. - but you oh mighty Alpha can do as you please."
The silence in the room was broken by Beta Jakson command.
"We will leave our stuff here and shift."
"Oh no, you won't". - Opal opposed – ``Did you come here on foot?"
"No, by car" was the Jakson's answer.
"Then leave your stuff there, in your car. Out."
"Suddenly so shy? After greeting us in underwear? "The blond Alpha smiled, showing his perfect white teeth. Opal was blushed in an instant. She was immune to rudeness but not to talks like that.
"Let it be, leave the lady some space, move outside." Beta Jakson opened the door and all of them left without a single word only wearing stupid smirks.
"We will meet at the forest line in five minutes." He added.
"Fine"
Opal shifted after the whole bunch had left. She reached them by the forest line. It was the first time she showed herself in her wolf form in front of anybody. Her wolf was white, just like snow underneath her paws. The other five were far bigger than she was, with all shades of gray and even a bit of brown color. One of them was carrying a small package on his back and the other two had something looking like a dog harness. They looked at her, some of them were sniffing the air. Opal felt uneasy again. She started running.
She knew where she was going, so she set a quick pace to make sure, to be back before the night breaks in. They all followed her. It was a strange feeling, running along with other wolves. She dreamed about this once, no more than once. How it would feel to run with other pack members. She was sorry to admit but it felt kind of great. Opal decided to enjoy this short run. She jumped across the frozen creek and moved forward, next to the clearing. Soon she will be there. For the first time she couldn't concentrate on the outer sounds and hunting possibilities. She wasn't alone, she was with a pack. She felt … good. Behind those trees she must turn a little west and then the fallen tree. The ditch was right in front of her. Opal stopped.
