Chapter 9 - The Grave Bride

With her classmates, Ze went to Parangtritis Beach. Going to the beach was not the first thing for her because the beach was not far away. Arriving at the beach, her friends took issue with the clothes that the Death Well Girl was wearing. Not because Ze wearing was her mother's negligee, or that her clothes were upside down. Mok-mok fumes, saying, Ze should have known that she shouldn't wear blue clothes to the south coast. Yes, it's not Ze's fault, because there was no announcement that it was forbidden to wear blue clothes.

"I am forget!" Zee exclaimed. When Wewek took the initiative to buy clothes of other colors, Ze refused. "No need. I will not swim. I'll just sit around watching you guys."

She couldn't believe that Ratu Kidul liked people in blue skirt. Logically, if human wear blue clothes and are dragged by the waves, the SAR Team will have a hard time because the color is the same as the sea water, because it is difficult to see. According to legend, on the south coast along the island of Java there is a magical kingdom led by Ratu Kidul.

Ratu Kidul is described as very beautiful. It is said that she is an angel whose name is Nawang Wulan. She was married by Joko Tarub. While bathing in the lake with her six sisters, the young man stole her clothes, so that the nymph could not return to her native land in the sky. When her clothes have been found, she is no longer accepted back into the sky because she has become a human wife. She returned to earth, not to her husband, but made a kingdom in the southern sea. The magical land is equivalent to the Holy Land from Hidr.

Ze just sits on the beach sand when her friends play on the beach, they play catch up with the waves. Ze saw the end of the sea, the horizon, sometimes a big fish leaping. When a peddler of glasses stopped in front of him, Ze was interested in choosing one of the ribbon glasses. Don't know how many hours she sat there. Until she saw a vertical line of light hit the beach.

Ze looked around, no one reacted to the light so she concluded that only herself saw it. Ze got up and headed towards the place. Out of curiosity she dug up the sand, and at a depth of 30 cm found coins.

"Maybe, this be a lucky coin like Uncle Gober," Ze thought, remembering Donald Duck's uncle. But it was not domestic money, but very old Dutch money or guilders. There's a date of manufacture, 1678, from the seventeenth century! She tucked the coin into her levis pants pocket. In the evening, they go home.

That night, while sleeping, Ze woke up because her body was shaking violently. The bed seemed to be swinging. Ze thought of an earthquake so she ran out of the room. But not an earthquake because the other room nothing happened. There was no panic like when there was an earthquake in 2006. Ze slowly peeked into her room, there was no one. The bed didn't rock anymore. She was sure it wasn't a dream. Ze went into the room and checked every corner, including under the bed to make sure it was as sterile from criminals.

Ze breathed a sigh of relief when everything was safe. Ze was about to sleep again and had covered herself with her musty blanket. Suddenly there was a figure standing near her study table. A large, tall figure dressed in sailor's attire, seemed to be the captain of a medieval ship.

"Return the coin to its original place," demanded the mysterious figure and disappeared. Ze is stunned. The coin seems to have an owner. Now, she realized what creature she was dealing with. The shaking that she considered an earthquake must have been the work of a supernatural figure. The coin must be returned to its place. Ze got out of her room, looking for levis pants where ancient coins were kept. It's in the bucket and it's been soaked. Thank goodness the coin is still there.

"Should I return it? How complicated. Knowing this, I didn't take it home," Ze muttered to herself. She was determined not to return the coin. But the intention had to be corrected because the bed was shaking again. "Okay! Okay! I'll put it back where it belongs, but don't make a fuss!" The shaking subsided.

Hajjah Bod approached her daughter's room, "Ze you are delirious?"

"Yes!" answered Ze, spontaneously. Oh, she is very funny. Isn't it impossible for delirious people to answer questions? Realizing her mistake, Ze immediately jumped onto the bed and pretended to be asleep when she heard footsteps approaching. When her mother looked inside, what appeared was Ze who was curled up like a cold kitten. "Damn! If that strange coin isn't returned then I can't sleep."

Finally, after school, Ze went straight to Parangtritis Beach by taking public transportation. The coin is in her bag. She went straight to where the coin was taken. Traces of the excavation are still there. Ze waited a while for the situation to be right to act. If anyone found out she bury something there might be someone who would be interested in taking it, and that could put that person in danger. Ze pretended to play sand and dig. When Ze filled the coin with sand, she just realized that a pair of eyes were watching her. Ze turned to the person. Up, a mysterious figure appeared in her room.

"My name is Hendrik Vanderdecken," said the man. Her appearance was the same as the one she saw in the room. But no one else cared about it. Other people can't see it. Ze was still stunned by the appearance of the strange figure. "Are you excited to see the Spongebob movie? I am The Flying Dutchman."

Ze stifled a laugh, amused. She thought that The Flying Dutchman in her favorite cartoon was just fiction. Oh, it turns out there is a real character. The mysterious figure laughed out loud, his teeth looked like coral reefs. The name was given to a Dutch captain. If that's the case, then Ze knows what creature she's dealing with, a ghost.

Vanderdecken was an accomplished sailor. In 1680, after his voyage from Amsterdam to Batavia, he sailed to East India. There the ship was loaded with merchandise, especially spices. It's just that the fraudulent captain secretly hides the stolen gold gems. On a voyage, not far from the Gulf of Aden, Africa, his ship was attacked by a tropical storm. His men asked that the voyage be stopped and wait for the storm to subside. Vanderdecken refused. They did not know that it was not a natural storm but a sent storm from the world of darkness.

None of the crew knew, that the night before, the captain was gambling with the devil on his private deck. What's at stake? Vanderdecken risked his life. If his guess was wrong, he would be the eternal captain until the apocalypse. But if Vanderdecken wins then Lucifer will send the ship and its contents to the Netherlands in the blink of an eye. Why was the captain so confident? During this time he was known as a sniper. The bet with coin guessing is never unbeatable. However, the dark lord was very cunning, the bet was made when the condition of the Dutch sailors was drunk. If it was a fair bet, of course it would be invalid, because one of the parties was unconscious. However, it's gambling against the devil, the culprit is crime, whatever the way is lawful and legal.

"The agreement was written in blood ink, from a cut on my finger, which was intentionally cut," said Vanderdecken. "I lost, I picked the wrong piece of coin."

The Flying Dutchman shows a coin, as Ze found. The girl immediately dismantled the pile of sand and looked for the coin she had just buried. There is not any! The ghost captain twirled a coin with his finger. The coin rotates vertically. As it was spinning fast, as fast as lightning, his hand closed the coin. "The coin that opens is the winner. I was cheated, by Demon Lord used magic to trick me. I'm so sorry, but it's too late."

Ze asked, "Then, why are you here?"

Vanderdecken's ghost replied, "It's my turn to host the Graveyard Bride."

"Tomb Bride?"

"The suicide bomber in Jakarta the other day, at the JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton hotels. Lucifer will marry two suicide bombers to the UWe. Each of the bridegrooms will have forty wives terrible, torn figures."

The Vanderdecken ghost also leaked a secret, after the Bride's Grave reception was over, the Bermuda Triangle Emperor would make a surprise, and that was usually a battle.

"Even though I will be a resident of hell, but want to do good. If it pleases then God will put me in a hell that is not very hot." Ze laughed at the ghost's funny narration, a hell that wasn't too hot, is there? Can the ghost in front of Ze be trusted? What if it was just to invite some sympathy from Death Well Girl, after all, to set her up? All kinds of tricks have been used by the UWe nation to get her, both life and death.

Grave Bride? Ze remembers the term used by terrorists, that suicide bombers are said to be "brides".

"Recruiters persuade people that being a suicide bomber is being a bride. It is said that 40 very beautiful nymphs were waiting for him at the aisle, so that person was excited to die. But all of that was a lie, they were just duped by Nordin M. Tops and his friends. Pity those people, who ended up just being the Tomb Bride. Nordin M. Top himself does not want to die soon and instead continues to marry in the world. It's better for me, because I can still feel sorry for myself."

That is true. Why does the Malaysian terrorist always get married every time he escapes? Why doesn't he become a "bride" for himself. The terrorist kingpin only deceives people who are stupid and not good at gratitude. Because they feel defeated in this world, they want to quickly get a reward in the afterlife by becoming a suicide bomber. Suicide is very sinful, especially while killing other innocent people. Moreover, Indonesia is not a war zone.

"So, every time there's a suicide bombing, there's a Bride and Groom?" Vanderdecken nodded. Since the suicide bombing occurred on the island of Java, the ghost ship docked in the southern sea. The ghost of the captain offered Ze to see his ship and at the same time witness the Tomb Bride.

"The killing bomber will be disappointed, instead of waiting for the angels of heaven, but to be married to the bad creatures from hell." After thinking for a moment, Ze accepted Vanderdecken's ghost offer. Ze followed the ghost captain's footsteps towards the sea. Beachgoers at first were not suspicious of Ze who stepped into the sea water. However, when Ze continued to walk straight into the middle of the sea and her body began to sink, people shouted by pointing at Ze. There were some who went to tell the SAR team to help Ze.

The people didn't know what was really going on. Ze and the Vanderdecken Ghost have been waiting for the ghost boat that will take them to the ship. The crew of the ghost captain were also in tatters, even more sinister, because their eye holes were gaping with no content. The condition of the captain's ghost is more tolerable than his sailors.

Meanwhile, the SAR team that followed Ze found nothing. The ghost canoe got to the big ghost ship. A very old wooden ship, very thick moss. This is the horrendous legend of the mysterious ship. Ze is very lucky, because so far people have only seen this ghost ship from a distance. Ze not only managed to get close, but also got into it. Ze took the Blorok, activated her camera and took a picture of the ghost ship. Earned thanks, that's fine, Ze thought.

Ze was invited by the ghost captain into a deck. "This is my private deck. This is where I gambled against Lucifer. After that defeat I really hated this space, because it always reminded me of my painful defeat. In fact, before that bet, I had promised my family that it would be my last voyage. I will retire. I don't know, there's no retirement anymore for me. I must sail around the world forever as Lucifer's slave."

On this ghost ship, the Grave Bride will be held. The ghost said that it was very dangerous for Ze to watch the Grave Bride's oath take place. Lucifer and the leaders of the dark world will be on the ship. All the leaders of the underworld, or the demon world, would never miss the reception that Emperor Lucifer held. This event is also an event to attract sympathy from Lucifer, being his trust is an incomparable honor.

"When will the Grave Bride take place?" Ze asked.

"Monday Wage or Tuesday night Kliwon," replied the ghost. Ze was surprised. The ghost laughed and said, "When I was alive I had a Javanese wife. In a way, I know the beliefs of the Javanese about certain dates. That's right, Kliwon Tuesday night is very haunted, why, because that night the power of the dark nation was at its peak."

"So you really intend to betray?" Ze asked.

"I told you, that I will do penance. Accepted by God or not, it is God's right. I don't want to be in Hell forever. A million years is fine, but it still has its limits. If it's immortal, well, it's unlimited!"

Ze is not half-hearted, after all she is already in the unseen realm, the spirit world. Ze secretly made inner contact with Hidr, asking the prince of the Holy Land to come with her. Not long ago a seagull came and perched on the railing of the ship. Ze knew that was Hidr. The ghost of Hendrik Vanderdecken had suspected the seagull, but didn't care. The immortal master has intended to betray Lucifer.

Ze spoke to the seagull, "There will be a Tomb Bride on this ship. The groom of the suicide bomber. When is Kliwon Tuesday night?"

"Right now," said Hidr. "This is very dangerous for us because today the dark people are hard to beat. If the war takes place on Tuesday Kliwon, the soldiers of the Holy Land must adopt a special strategy because the soldiers of the Holy Land have been ever defeated."

Suddenly, there was a faint sound of gamelan, with a tone that was familiar to Ze. That's the melody of the Kebo Giro rhythm that is usually used to accompany the bride and groom. However, Hidr informed that the gending had changed its meaning, no longer as an expression of gratitude to God but as a compliment to the king of darkness. Alas, the ghost world is also happy to be a plagiarist. Like the followers of black magic, who flip through the verses of the holy book of any religion, to make magic spells.

But, where did the gamelan sound come from? Apparently, not from the boat. Seen the twinkling lights in the middle of the sea. After noticing that the group of guests who came to attend the invitation. That night the sea became a crowded reception party, a very luxurious event. As it turned out, the ghost ship was only used for the swearing-in ceremony, a kind of consent.

"You and the imitation bird should hide. The groom's party is arriving soon," said The Flying Dutchman.

Within seconds, a group of ghosts appeared approaching the ship. Ze peeps, masha Allah, the bridegroom with a shattered body. Nothing more than a broken body that is tossed around. Even though thousands of times plastic surgery with thousands of cosmetologists, will not be able to fix it. That was the condition of the Tomb Bride, who was destroyed during a suicide bombing. The group arrived at the wide deck of the ship. Ze saw Lucifer was among them. The groom sits cross-legged on the deck.

Not long after that the party of forty bride and groom also arrived. The bride and groom are no less terrible. Truly burning angels. The ghost of the headman came forward and asked the groom-to-be. "Is the groom ready to swear allegiance to the world of darkness and to his forty wives?" The groom nodded and replied, "Ready." The ghost of the headman then asked the groom to imitate his words: "By Lucifer, Lord of the Dark World, I married forty nymphs of darkness forever in sorrow." The groom stuttered to imitate him. After that Lucifer called out: "Legal!" Others immediately shouted the same word, legal.

The Graveyard Bride's Wedding has been completed. The group left the ship. Fortunately, Ze and Hidr did not smell the underworld creatures who were partying. The massive reception in the demon world caught them off guard by the presence of the figure they had been looking for. In the middle of the reception, Lucifer took advantage of the opportunity. He stood on a very high pulpit and made a speech: "My brethren from the sinister underworld. After this party, we will have a follow-up party that is no less interesting. We are attacking the South Beach Palace! That is why at every wedding reception of the Bride of the Tomb, you are asked to bring all the soldiers. We will attack Ratu Kidul Palace before she able ask the Holy Land for help!"

The cheers of support for the Emperor erupted. Hidr gets restless. "We have to prevent it. If the South Coast Palace is destroyed then the lord of darkness will rule over the unseen world. Damage will continue to occur, not only in the supernatural world, but also in the human world which is the main target. So far, with the help of the Southern Coast Palace and other magical kingdoms, the Holy Land has been able to stem the evil of the Triple Six. If the situation is normal, I can communicate directly with the queen. However, in conditions like this, magical communication is made an error, blocked by the opponent. I had to go to the Holy Land myself to report this situation. But what about the South Coast Palace?"

"I could conspire with the Vanderdecken Ghost, to have it escorted to the South Coast Palace to warn of this danger," Ze said.

Hidr agreed with the proposal. Ze expressed her intentions to The Flying Dutchman and was very supportive. The crew of the ghost ship smuggle Ze out of the ship in a magical lifeboat. However, the seagulls followed them and handed over a crystal stone so that their presence was accepted by Ratu Kidul. The magic lifeboat that the supernatural figures were pedaling floated at high speed. Arriving at the gates of the South Coast Palace, Ze was stopped by the guards. Ghost Hunter shows Hidr's gift.

"Come here. What message did you bring?" asked the Queen of the South Beach Palace.

Wow, very-very beautiful! Exceeding the painting by Basuki Abdullah. The naturalist painter did paint the figure of Ratu Kidul. After receiving Ze's information, Ratu Kidul held an emergency meeting. In the unseen world there are also blocks like human lands. If any of his allies were attacked or attacked, the others would also get involved. It often happens that coalition members betray, because there is no lasting friendship in the unseen world, everything is based on interests, whichever is more profitable, they will be invited to join. Even in the unseen world there are traitors, countries or wishy-washy groups, for example like the Vanderdecken Ghost who betrayed the heretical emperor.

Ratu Kidul immediately sent Lampor, a courier who went by way of a river that disgorges at Mount Merapi. Lampor's journey is marked by bell by humans who live along the river, because there are rows of torches on the river. The river is like a highway for convoys of magical couriers. People who are in the river or near it are told to get out of the way. Not only asking for help from the rulers of Mount Merapi, but also to the magical lands on the island of Java and its surroundings. The Holy Land's troops were also ready.

War in the unseen world is just a matter of time. Nerve-wracking. The armies of the dark world have moved forward, the opponent has also advanced. Suddenly, there was a rhythmic sound of mortar, the sound of people pounding rice. The army of darkness was halted as Lucifer gave the signal to stop.

"Back off! Cancel the attack!" shouted Lucifer booming in all directions. His troops withdrew. The Southern Coast Palace and Holy Land's troops did not catch up with their movements, letting them go.

"Why are they afraid of hearing the sound of the mortar?" Ze asked.

"Not the dimples. He was fooled. When they heard the sound of the mortar, they thought, the calendar has changed, Tuesday Kliwon has passed and they are not in a hurry to go to war," said Vanderdecken Ghost, laughing out loud. "He used to trick me, now I'm the one who tricked him!"

The mortar trick was adopted from the story of Roro Jonggrang, who broke Bandung Bondowoso's concentration when he built a thousand temples in one night with the sound of mortar. Likewise, Dayang Sumbi, when she failed to build a boat by Ciung Wanara. "I often deliberately appear to warn humans, that the unseen world exists and is very there. But today's humans really glorify the material, "said Hendrik Vanderdecken. The ghost ship sails back, out of nowhere, and will become the fugitives of Lucifer and his allies.

The SAR team was shocked when they saw Ze walking out of the waves. Nothing happened to her, not even the school uniform she was wearing was wet. "That kid's weird!" exclaimed the members of the SAR Team. "Son of the Queen of the South!" another exclaimed.

There are also those who scream when they see an ancient ship. Ze rushed home. Arriving at home, on her study table, lay a coin. Exactly the same as what she found. Ze thought that it was a keepsake from Hendrik Vanderdecken so there was no need to return it. Ze will write Bride of the Grave on the blog, who knows if she can alert the terrorists that they were duped by Nordin M. Top.

Ze hunts The Flying Dutchman on the internet. According to records, the ghost ship often appears. In 1835 the British captain and crew encountered the ghost ship during a hurricane. The ghost ship approached them, after its terrible appearance it disappeared. In 1881, sailors of the British battleship H.M.S. Bacchante recounted that a crew member fell from the side of the ship and died after the crew saw the ghost ship. In March 1939 many people saw the appearance of the demon ship at Glencairn Beach, South Africa. In fact, the day after that, a newspaper reported how these people saw the ghost ship. The ghost ship sailed strong even though at that time there was absolutely no wind. Surprisingly, eyewitnesses were able to explain in detail the condition of Hendrik Vanderdecken's ship even though they had never seen it before. (*)
