Chereads / GHOST HUNTER / Chapter 10 - The Hunting of Witchcraft

Chapter 10 - The Hunting of Witchcraft

One day, the Blorok, Ze's cell phone, rang several times. When it was picked up, it turned out to be from Wewek. She said that Mas Banyu, her older brother, had a strange illness. From his eyes came the thread of levis and inexhaustible. "Swear, I'm not lying. If you don't believe, you come to my house. My parents are confused," said Wewek, sobbing. When Ze said it could be that her brother was playing magic, because now there are a lot of people playing magic to join The Master, a television show that looks for top magicians.

"Please, don't say that, I'm really sad!" Oh, Ze is so self-conscious, feeling guilty. "You came to my house after school. Today I not go to school," said Wewek.

At the first break, Ze had already gone to the teacher's room and asked for permission to leave early. The reason? Stomach pain, mostly chili paste. As soon as the permit was issued, Ze did not go straight to Wewek's house. She stopped by first to buy a lot of tissue, for Wewek gifts. "She doesn't just cry, she needs a lot of tissues, let alone cry," Ze said to herself. When she arrived at her friend's house there were several of Wewek's family, all confused about Banyu's fate.

Wewek's brother is 22 years old, student of Geology, ITB, Bandung. "Levis threads kept coming out of his eyes," said Wewek. Luckily Ze was able to hold back her lips, which almost slipped out of the way for Wewek to set up a yarn factory because she didn't have to spin. Wewek invites Ze to see directly. Wewek's mother pulled the thread out of Banyu's eyes. The levis threads are golden yellow in color from the tear glands. The thread is pulled and cut. However, the thread in the eye does not run out, it keeps appearing. In a matter of minutes, the thread was long again.

Ze shuddered, horrified to see him. "Since when did Mas Banyu had this incident?"

"Since returning from camping with his friends," replied Wewek. "It's been half a month, we're just keeping it a secret. He has been taken to the hospital, but the doctor has raised his hand because when X-rayed there is nothing strange. How's it going, Zee?" Wewek cries. Ze held out a bunch of tissues she bought to Wewek.

The Wewek family is looking for a psychic who is thought to be able to treat Banyu's strange disease, but they have not succeeded in curing it. Secretly, Ze contacted Grandpa TTS, she explained Banyu's strange disease to the Death Well crew. Grandpa TTS knew Haji Baam who he considered capable of treating Banyu. Ze was invited by Grandpa TTS to the person's house. After doing an inner vision, Haji Baam said that Banyu had been exposed to witchcraft.

"So it's true that witchcraft exists?" Ze asked innocently.

"Do you think what you've been through all this time was just a dream?" Haji Baam, asked back. This old man was able to read what happened to Death Well Girl. "It is very difficult to trace who sent the witchcraft and what the motive was. There are people who are able to track him down, but it is not easy to bring the perpetrators to justice, because the evidence cannot be accepted by common sense. This is what makes the crime of witchcraft more flexible, because it escapes the snares of the law. In fact, the victim of witchcraft suffers all his life."

Ze invites Haji Baam to Wewek's house. Upon seeing Banyu's condition, Haji Baam said, "You tore up a letter sent by a girl. That's right?" Banyu didn't answer immediately, but remembered. Long enough, but finally. "The only way to heal you have to apologize to her."

"Who is that girl, Banyu?" his mother asked. Banyu did not answer. By Haji Baam Banyu's disease was treated, but it was only temporary, until Banyu came and apologized to the person who had offended her heart. Apparently, there was another obstacle, because the girl had died.

"Ze, if that's the case, Mas Banyu's disease might not be cured," said Wewek.

"Alright, get the sewing machine ready."

"You mean?"

"You just open Vermak Levis, you don't have to buy the thread!" "Ze!" Wewek shouted, only this time Wewek rebuked her. Ze shrank because she was wrong in joking. Ze apologized, until she hugged Wewek really tight. However, there is one positive thing since her brother got this strange disease, Wewek forgot about the activity of putting her fingers in her nose.

"Ze, but is that really witchcraft? What if Mas Banyu secretly inserts the levis thread into his eye?"

"What's the point of doing that?"

"To get Papa and Mama's attention."

"Has he been lacking love all this time?" Wewek shook her head. Wewek's suspicion could be, but how to put a long thread into his eyes. "Hasn't Mas Banyu been taken to the hospital and the doctor has raised his hand. That is, it is not a virus or bacteria problem. Maybe this has something to do with the UWe nation's crimes."

"UWe nation? Which person is that, Ze?" Wewek asked. Ze just realized that her mouth was slipping. To cover it up, Ze said that it was just her imagination, because she studied to be a writer. Thank God Wewek understands it. Ze took Wewek to Haji Baam's house, took Blop.

"What's wrong, Zee?" said Haji Baam. Ze told about Banyu's problem.

"Is it true that the only shaman who sent the levis thread magic was able to pull it out?"

"Yes, because the shaman made it so he knows exactly what to use for it."

"Sorry, is the case that happened to Mas Banyu similar to that of the wire woman from Kalimantan?" Ze asked. She remembered a very strange incident, which shocked the world. Banyu's disease is similar to that experienced by Noorsyaidah, a woman whose stomach keeps getting wires out of her stomach. Surprisingly, the wire seemed to live by increasing in length, when the wire was cut it grew again. The doctor said the wire had roots and couldn't be removed. When operated on the roots reappear so that the wire continues to grow.

"When I saw the program on television, I suspected that the woman was exposed to black magic, witchcraft. There are many names for witchcraft, such as witchcraft, sorcery, black magic, or others. There are several types of witchcraft techniques. Among them is imitative magic, namely the technique of witchcraft by making fictitious objects that resemble victims, for example with dolls pricked with needles or nails to injure the victim. Then there is contagio magic, which is the technique of witchcraft with objects related to potential victims, such as photos, clothes, or hair of potential victims."

"What technique would you use to harm Mas Banyu?"

"The Banyu's photo has been ritualized by the shaman."

From Haji Baam it was also known that the witchcraft that befell Wewek's brother was named Riung Taluh. The media used are birds, coconuts, and ropes made of coconut leaves. The birds used are small species such as sparrows. The bird must be caught alive. Then the bird is tied with a rope. Next, the end of the coconut is opened, then the bird is put in the coconut and buried.

"Bury it in a place far from the mosque or graveyard," said Haji Baam.

Wewek cry. Ze listened to the explanation carefully. "How cruel, to bury a bird alive."

"It's even more cruel because the victim can suffer for life."

"Is that coconut that entered Mas Banyu's body?"

"It entered magically, but its size has shrunk. I saw a magical lump in the shape of a table tennis ball that was split in half and a snake that kept moving. That is the levis thread that keeps appearing in Banyu's eyes. Because it's a magical object, then take it also by magical means, not by surgery. Actually, the witchcraft infrastructure is just a tool to summon evil spirits."

"There are three evil spirits that cause Banyu's disease. There are those named Jambrong, Rasauf, and Anjali. Jambrong and Rasauf are male genies, while Anjali are female genies," said Haji Baam. "Look, I see you are different from the other children. Don't you often go on magical journeys," whispered Haji Baam. Ze just rolled her eyes. Ze then asked if the evil spirits had any special characteristics. Haji Baam said that Jambrong is tall and has snake scales on his head, Rasauf has a triangular head, while Anjali is a very old woman.

"So what's the job of the jinn?"

"Keeping the blob."

"Can they be removed?"

"You can, but you have to kill the three genies."

"Can the genie be killed?"

Haji Baam gasped and laughed, "You're right. They can't die, they can only get sick. I mean, not killed to be killed, but to get rid of it."

Why do objects buried elsewhere enter people's bodies? Basically, witchcraft can be traced to physics. Objects or materials by witchman are turned into non-material ones, of course with the help of spells. After changing shape and then inserted into the victim's body. After being in the victim's body, the non-material object turns into matter again so that it can be seen if X-rayed. However, it cannot be removed surgically. If it is entered in a magical way, it must be removed in a magical way as well.

Who can do witchcraft? Witch witchcraft. Someone who holds a grudge against someone will ask a witchman for help. Then, the witchman asked for help from the creatures of the spirit world. It is said that, in ancient times, witchcraft was a martial art that worked by using the opponent's emotions. When the opponent's emotions explode, the energy from that emotion will turn to attack himself. At that time the science of witchcraft was kept secret and not just anyone could learn it for fear of being misused. In its development, black magic shamans use supernatural beings such as jinn and demons. Black magic is easy to do, because all witchcraft have to do is cooperate with the dark spirit by giving it a reward, so witchcraft will run smoothly.

Witchcraft is very dangerous, not only to the victim but also to the perpetrator, because witchcraft can turn against the sender. After receiving information from Haji Baam, in order to help Mas Banyu heal, Ze plans to go on a magical journey. Of course this must be kept secret, not only to Wewek but also to others.

"Perhaps, the Uwe people were ordered by the shaman to make Mas Banyu's disease," Ze whispered to herself.

"When you meet Mr. Hidr, convey my greetings," said Haji Baam.

Ze was once again surprised. "Who exactly is Mr. Hidr?" Ze asked.

"In the story of Prophet Musa there is the Prophet Chidir. But, who he really is no one knows. Uniquely, in the twenty-five prophets, the name of Chidir is not listed because of his very mysterious existence. In the narration it is told, when Prophet Muhammad died, Ali heard a voice without a form telling him not to wash his body of because it was already holy. Ali heard the voice over and over again until Ali became confused. While he was in doubt he heard a formless voice, this time telling him to bathe him. When Ali asked who he was, he got the answer that he was Prophet Chidir. It was also the Prophet Chidir who told Ali that it was the Devil who told him not to wash the Prophet's body. In fact, the distance between Prophet Moses and Prophet Muhammad is thousands of years."

Ze asked, "Is Mr. Hidr the Chidir Prophet?"

"No," said Haji Baam. It took Wewek a long time to leave them so they could talk freely. Because it was enough, Ze asked him to say goodbye. When Wewek asked what Haji Baam's advice was for his brother's recovery, Ze said that she would try. Wewek was told to pray.

The night, while sleeping, Ze dreamed that she was asked by Grandpa TTS to play the death well. Surprisingly, when Ze rode with Blop on Death Well, she entered the astral world. Surprisingly, it wasn't a dream, but a reality that happened because Ze met Hidr. That's when Ze conveyed his greetings from Haji Baam. Hidr then also entrusted greetings to be conveyed to Haji Baam. As it turned out, according to Hidr's story, they had been on patrol together in the spirit world when there was a big riot.

"At that time we had to calm the spirits who were victims of communist party uprising in 1965. If it is not suppressed, there will be more bloodshed in Indonesia, because the spirits will support the political heat of the first general election in the New Order era," said Hidr. Ze is invited by Hidr to wander in the spirit realm of the underground world. They go around riding on white clouds. One time, when there was a female figure bound by chains and groaning in pain, Hidr stopped. "That's what you're looking for. Don't you intend to help treat your friend's brother's illness?" said Hidr. This time Hidr's appearance was not wearing a turban so there was no sign of alif. Ze hasn't quite caught his words yet.

"It was the woman you saw who ordered the shaman to cast a spell on Banyu," said Hidr next.

"Can I approach her?" Ze asked.

"Please." Ze then approached the figure of the spirit who was bound by the chain. Terrible, Ze turned away when the figure stared at her. "Girl, come closer, help me," the spirit lamented.

"How can I help you?" Ze asked.

The spirit was crying and very pitiful. "My unforgivable sin is to have harmed someone with the help of a demon. I, who used to be pious, darkened my eyes when I met a handsome young man. My love is one-sided, in fact he was so annoyed with me that he tore up my love letter."

" Mas Banyu?"

"Yes, that arrogant one. I hate him so much. But, if the witchcraft persists on him, or he dies, then there's no chance for me to be forgiven. I will suffer like this all the time."

"I know you want to remove the witchcraft. But to do this, you have to show a witchman that you have hired. Do you remember where I found the witchman?" Ze asked. The terrible figure gave an answer that the witchman that she was using was a shaman who liked to promote his services in a newspaper, his name was Ki Buyut.

"If the witchcraft has been successfully cured. Please ask Banyu to make a pilgrimage to my grave, so that my soul may rest in peace. I will not be free from this torment if there is no forgiveness from the victim of my crime." Ze nodded, then left the tormented spirit. But Ze remembered something so went back to the spirit to ask his name. "My name is Keket!" she answered.

Ze returns to Hidr. "Now what should I do?" Ze asked for consideration.

Hidr said, "Let's go to the shaman. In the human world, it has now entered Wage Thursday, so it is Kliwon Friday night. Black magicians take advantage of this time to work with dark spirits."

They go to somewhere. They arrived at a secluded house, far from the other houses. There was no light in the house. But in the darkness Ze could see because of the moonlight. Apparently, it was the house of Ki Buyut, a witchman. In the yard of the house someone was burning incense, of course the shaman. His mouth reads an incantation that can't be heard clearly, but can be heard faintly, I don't know what language it uses, maybe the language of the devil. Beside him was a coconut shell filled with red liquid, black chicken blood. There was an oddity that night, for in the yard then a small hurricane appeared that absorbed the smoke of frankincense. Ki Buyut took a coconut shell, poured the chicken's blood onto the incense embers, causing a hiss. The witchman then took out a photo. With the remaining chicken blood, he scribbled on the photo.

"What did he do?" Ze whispered.

"Doing witchcraft. He got an order from someone to do witchcraft," Hidr replied. "It must be stopped so that there are no new victims."

When Ki Buyut was about to burn the photo with fire from his gas lighter, Hidr blew the wind at him so that the photo he was holding fell off and flew away with the wind. Ki Buyut was very surprised. This is the first time something bothered him. "Who is challenging me! Come out!" Ze was ordered by Hidr to meet the shaman. "Oh, it's you. Is this the Ghost Hunter that my brothers from the Pacific Ocean told me about? Still very young!"

Ze didn't mince words. "I asked that the witchcraft on Mas Banyu's body be removed from his body."

"No requests from my clients to do so!" snapped the shaman.

"She told me to tell you to withdraw the witchcraft she had sent."

"Tell her to come by herself!" said Ki Buyut.

"Keket is dead, then what was ordered to come?"

"If he's dead why tell you, did you bring her will with you?" challenged the shaman. The shaman was then alert, knowing who he was dealing with. There are several charms on his body, not only on his neck which is in the form of a skull necklace, but also on his wrist which is in the form of a bracelet, even the earrings he wears are not random earrings, all of them are controlled by stealth. The shaman had transformed into a very terrible werewolf.

Hidr approached Ze, "It's a magic the black spirit does. Be careful."

The werewolf lunged at Ze so violently, its movement speed was so great that it couldn't be followed by the eye. Fortunately, Ze is protected by a shroud of light so that it is not easy for evil creatures to touch. The shroud of light is like a balloon that protects it. But that shouldn't last too long, because if Ze feels exhausted then her protective sheath will also weaken. Ze knew what to do. Ki Buyut's strength is in his amulets, so she looks for the shaman's carelessness in the form of a wolf monster.

On one occasion, in one fell swoop, the amulets on the monster's bodies were snatched from their place and thrown straight at Hidr. By Hidr, the talisman was immediately gripped tightly so that it puffed up smoke. At the same time, the wolf monster's body became painful and returned to the form of Ki Buyut who rolled on the ground begging for mercy.

"Geez! I'm not strong anymore, I admit defeat," groaned Ki Buyut.

"Then you must take the witchcraft you have sent to the victims!" said Hidr. The shaman agreed. He had no choice but to obey Hidr's request if he didn't want to be tortured. Although what Hidr holds are only his amulets, but when he loses the supernatural creature invites the owner to feel pain. That's why the shaman felt so much pain even though he wasn't being held at all. The shaman stood up and he asked Ze and Hidr to follow him.

He headed to the back of the house which turned out to be a large garden. Somewhere, he crouched and scraped the ground with his bare hands. At that time, various items were found that were planted as a means of practicing witchcraft. However, at one point, the shaman bounced back as if pushed by a very powerful force.

"What happened?" Ze asked.

"There are those who are not willing to remove the witchcraft from the victim!" answered the shaman.

"Who?" Ze asked.

"There are three spirits waiting for this one witchcraft. Jambrong, Rasauf and Anjali!" Ze remembered that the names of these evil spirits had been mentioned by Haji Baam. That's witchcraft that is on Mas Banyu's body. "I can't pull it out, I lost to them. This happened because the Keket who ordered it was dead," said the shaman.

Ze immediately went forward and saw what was embedded in the ground. A coconut, the smell is extraordinary because in the coconut there is a bird carcass submerged in coconut water. When Ze tried to pull it out, her body also bounced a few meters away like it had been hit by a bomb blast.

"They are UWe people who belong to the high class. They targeted Banyu's body for their use. The three of them agreed to use it together in order to have three times the power because it was inhabited by three evil spirits," said Hidr. "We can't finish it here. We have to hunt him down in the occult."

At that moment, Hidr took Ze and they were already in the spirit realm. After that they rushed to Wewek's house, of course no one noticed their presence. In the magical world Hidr and Ze can penetrate all objects, including walls. Mas Banyu was seen sleeping restlessly.

"Let me take the invisible lump in his eye," said Hidr, then he crossed his arms, from his body a very thin bluish smoke emerged. After that Hidr stretched his hand towards Banyu's right eye, the place that always emits levis threads. Not long after, a lump of string emerged from Banyu's eyes. By Hidr the thread was shown to Ze. The good thing is, the thread moves like a hot worm. "Don't be surprised, this is the work of the devil. Right now the demons who are guarding the clod are preparing to attack us," said Hidr.

Hidr squeezed the lump of thread that kept moving so hard that it caught fire and emitted black smoke. Ze is alert. Jambrong, Rasauf, and Anjali, the three supernatural beings who guard the lump of witchcraft, immediately appear. Of course this is not realized by the Wewek family because it occurs in the supernatural. The appearance of the three evil creatures was extraordinary.

Anjali, who was described by Haji Baam as a witch, turned out to be more terrifying, more sinister than the appearance of a ghost or witch in the movies. If all the female ghosts were tied together, that would be Anjali. Not only that, from her mouth came the burning flames. Jambrong's shape is no less scary, his mouth is always hissing like a cobra, snake scales indicate he is a kind of snake demon. Rasauf's triangular head resembles a frog's head, his mouth always looks up with his eyes located at the bottom, a very odd shape.

Ze was not finished wondering about these strange creatures, three creatures who were part of the Underworld or UWe attacked Ze. All of a sudden, Ze was caught. Wrong, it turns out that Ze wasn't caught, it was just as if the shroud of light was still protecting her. Ze deliberately made herself look like she was caught. In this way, when the creatures were careless because they already felt victorious, Hidr made the best use of the opportunity. He attacked the three ghosts in unison as they gathered holding Ze. As a result of Hidr's devastating attack, the three ghosts caught fire and turned into smoke. Hidr immediately sucked up the smoke and put it in the glass bottle he took from Ze's waist.

After locking with liquid glass, the glass vial that confines the three creatures is thrown into space, and they will be imprisoned for thousands of years or maybe millions of years. After all that was done, Hidr sent Ze to the real world.

Early in the morning, Ze called Wewek, saying that Mas Banyu had recovered from his illness. "Just check him!" A few minutes later there was a call back from Wewek informing her that no more levis strings had come out of Mas Banyu's eyes. But Ze also met Mas Banyu to talk privately, conveying a request for a figure she met in the supernatural world.

"Why do you know her name is Keket? I keep this very secret," said Banyu, very surprised.

Ze said, "That was her request. Without her instructions, Mas Banyu's strange disease is difficult to cure." Banyu agreed, he promised to make a pilgrimage at Keket's grave. However, he asked Ze to keep the girl's name a secret. Ze nodded. (*)
