Last night was good for Ezumi since he got to sleep in a bed again. When he woke up he then thought 'when was the last time I slept well like this?...' he then looked at his hand and thought 'come to think of it, about the test I took last night.. where do I need to go when I need to go to the academy?' he then sat up and looked out of the window. "huh.. I guess I woke up too early." he said looking outside seeing that the sun is yet to rise.
He took a shower and then fished out another set of clothes he thought 'if this bag is going to be with me for the rest of my life.. then if it has a history of what I took out, I bet my history would have a lot of clothes..' Ezumi put on the clothes and went outside using the window, when he jumped out he looked around for a while and went walking around the City, waiting for the day to come.
As morning came Ezumi was still venturing around the City. He went back to the place the old man was. Hoping that his grandson would be there, but as expected the boy was not there.. infact the whole tent from last night was not there anymore. Although it was not there anymore, there was still a few traces of it. Ezumi thought 'huh, strange... if they were recruiting students, then why did they not take the students they've recruited along with them?' and looked around to try and figure out why. At this time Ezumi looked at the crystal necklace and thought 'wait... now that I've thought about it, isn't this necklace a...' before he could finish thinking something or someone at that, transported him to a place where he never knew of. Ezumi thought 'oh great.. it is a tracking crystal. I should have known it since last night... ah, damn, I'm being too careless' he then felt a magic's presence at his left side. Ezumi immediately casted a wind barrier around him in any case he were to get attacked the barrier would easily pierce any flesh and prevent any weapon to come close to the person inside. A few seconds later, the presence of magic began to appear one by one on every corner of where Ezumi was standing.
Before he could start attacking all of them, fire started to lit up around them. When the fire lit up bright enough for him to see, Ezumi could now see what was truly around him. They were also magic users.. scared, startled, and some already with a weapon.
Seeing that they were people Ezumi thought 'the necklace brought us here didn't it?...' after he said that, the old man was standing Infront of them and said "alright students as you can see we are in a cave. We've chose this cave specifically to test your combat skills without any preparations and since this is just a warm-up test to see how you do in fighting and spell casting, after this test you are expected to get a kill then get out of the cave. If you can get out of the cave without a score then that's fine this is just a warm up and to also have the beasts in this cave no more" after what he said he immediately disappeared and a voice were to be heard, the voice said "what's important is you get out of the cave before your given time is up. The time you have left is 30 minutes, that should be enough".
As a soul that was reincarnated for revenge, this type of punishment is too much of a punishment for Ezumi, he thought he had already wasted two days of the ten-day contract the figure gave him. Ezumi thought 'if I want to find the three of them quicker I'll have to finish this as quickly as possible, meaning I won't give my spare time on fighting beasts in this cave... although I say it like that, how do I get out?... well getting out is not really the problem but the people around me are, if the six of us were to follow each other then it would be unfair for some of the teachers in the academy.. or not..? for now I'll try and play it low' then he knelt down and touched the ground, he closed his eyes and tried searching for at least a soul to control.
A girl seeing that he did this she stared at him as if she was in a trance, one of the girls said "Hey! Hima! are you even listening to me!?" she then looked at her back and saw him. The guy her friend was staring at, she then looked back at Hima and took a step towards her blocking her line of sight. Hima noticing her friend, then said "uh what?... yes? what is it Mei?" Mei then replied "you know... you could just talk to him... plus it's ok to get to know him.. he seems capable enough to protect us.." Hima immediately disagreed, she said "ah no no, I don't really want to be a bother to him, haha" she said one hand at the back of her head and laughed nervously, she thought 'i don't want to talk to him now because I know you'll want to use him for protection and I don't want to use somebody in this warm-up test.. plus.. there's something strange.. about him.' she then put her hand down and said "we shouldn't bother him, plus he looks more focused than we are haha" Hima smiled at her as Mei stared at her, and turned around.
As Ezumi was looking for a soul, he noticed that this place does not have any human souls, meaning that this place could have already been entered and cleaned off empty or if no one has actually entered this place because of it's monsters inside. A while of trying to search for the last hope on finding a soul to control he just couldn't find any in this cave and thought that this is just like wasting gold on roses for no one.
So as he thought this, he sighed and stood up from the ground, Mei noticing his movements thought 'what were you even doing when you were kneeling on the ground? worshipping??' she was quite annoyed by what Ezumi was doing as she thought of this to be quite useless to her. She then thought of an idea.
As Ezumi was standing thinking of ways he could do to get out of here someone suddenly called him "hey" Mei said with a stop then continued once she caught Ezumi's attention she said "what about we team up? my friend and I are having quite a problem on this test. plus the old man said it's alright even if we don't get a kill, as long as we get out of here it's fine" she said as if it was a reasonable saying of hers.
Ezumi thought 'I don't even know your name, yet here you're saying "hey" as if that's not rude. You could have just said your name then I'll say mine before you get straight to the point, also I like to be alone. if that's okay, thank you very much!' he thought staring coldly at the girl that was also looking at him in the eye. She then said "Oh. right, my name is Takeuchi Mei, and your name is?..." Ezumi seeing that she said her name he thought 'now that's better...' and said "my name is Kutsuki Kagome." he said this not too loud not too quiet and is enough to be heard by Hima who was searching for ways to get out.
