About ten minutes later, Li Shuru returned, her face pale and tinged with a hint of panic.
"What's wrong?"
Jiang Chen quickly noticed her unusual demeanor.
"My father had an accident."
Li Shuru was very anxious and, without bothering to explain further, began searching for the nearest available flight on her phone, finding one that was departing in over two hours.
"Sorry, but I need to go back."
After booking the flight, an anxious Li Shuru grabbed her bag, ready to leave.
"I'll accompany you," Jiang Chen said as he stood up too.
Li Shuru looked at him.
"Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I'll go home with you; I mean I'll accompany you to the airport. You can't just leave your car there, right?"
There was no time to think too much, and Li Shuru nodded her head.
The two of them quickly walked outside.
"Please come again soon," said the restaurant staff as they departed.
Since he had been drinking, it was Li Shuru who drove, with Jiang Chen in the passenger seat.
