As the Six-Handed Rock Demon was killed instantly with a single hit, there were no more doubts.
The five Beast Tamers possessed more than one monarch-class beast, but under Qin Nan's deadly gaze, they had no chance to escape.
Qin Nan had no intention of intervening. He simply followed them as they fell, killing any new guardian beasts they summoned with casual ease, evidently pushing them into a corner.
Only when the five had completely lost their combat capabilities and all their beasts were killed did Qin Nan make his move to subdue them and return to the transport plane.
All their beasts killed, the five suffered severe backlash in their Beast Taming Space. When the law enforcement officers, who were already prepared on the plane, took them into custody, they showed symptoms of bleeding from all orifices—a sign of their Beast Taming Spaces nearing collapse.
Not bothering with the aftermath of these five, Qin Nan quickly resumed his seat across from Lin Su.
By now, she had completely returned to her normal appearance, with no trace of that terrifying normal energy level on her.
"All done," Qin Nan said, nonchalantly peeling an orange she had placed on the table and popping a segment into her mouth. "I guess you have a lot of questions. Go ahead and ask."
Lin Su looked at Qin Nan, who seemed as relaxed as if she had just gone out to kill a chicken, opened his mouth, and found himself at a loss for words.
He indeed had many questions.
"Earlier, that was... Guardian Beast Co-operation combat, right?" Lin Su finally organized his scattered thoughts and voiced his most pressing question.
"Correct," Qin Nan nodded. "How much do you know about Guardian Beast Co-operation combat?"
"A special technique for Beast Tamers that allows a temporary fusion with their guardian beast. It tremendously increases the normal energy level while completely compensating for the inherent weaknesses of the Beast Tamer," Lin Su said, his gaze involuntarily drifting towards Qin Nan.
Even though it wasn't for long, the merged form of Qin Nan with the monarch-class Gray Feathered Lion Hawk was still vivid in his mind.
It was incredibly cool...
He longed to possess it.
"You do know quite a bit," Qin Nan remarked with a mischievous look. "How about I tell you more details?"
"Can I know that?"
"It's not really a secret; you would learn it in university anyway," Qin Nan said casually, stretching lazily and showing off her fine figure, "but I'm a bit thirsty..."
"Here's some water for you," Lin Su quickly filled a cup from a nearby water dispenser and set it in front of Qin Nan.
"Good lad," Qin Nan teased, glancing at Lin Su as he took a sip of water, then slowly began to explain.
"Guardian Beast Co-operation combat is essentially a tactic that uses the Beast Taming Space as a medium to temporarily achieve a strong connection state between the Beast Tamer and the guardian beast."
Qin Nan paused, "With deeper research into the Beast Taming Space, one would discover that this mental subspace is just one form of existence. It actually acts more like a bridge connecting the Beast Tamer and the guardian beast."
"By using specific techniques to temporarily enhance this bridge, the coordinator can enter a deeper connected state with their beast, also known as a strong connection state, or what you call the temporary combined combat form."
"The catalyst for this activation is a special resource known as 'Synchronization Jade.'" Qin Nan glanced at Lin Su. "I won't go into details about the Synchronization Jade; it's classified, understand?"
Lin Su nodded.
"During Guardian Beast Co-operation combat, the new form created by the temporary union of the Beast Tamer and the beast is called a Cooperative Body, as you saw earlier when I merged with my beast, Xiao Yu," Qin Nan continued.
"The strength of a Cooperative Body depends on three factors," Qin Nan said, smiling slightly at Lin Su, who was all ears. "The first is naturally the normal energy level of the guardian beast. The stronger the fused beast, the stronger the Cooperative Body. Makes sense, right?"
"Yes," Lin Su nodded.
"The second factor is the Ghost Energy Synchronization Rate."
"Ghost Energy Synchronization Rate?" Lin Su was slightly taken aback. "What is that?"
"Although everyone can have their own Beast Taming Space upon reaching adulthood, not all spaces are the same," Qin Nan explained, unperturbed by Lin Su's confusion. "The Ghost Energy Synchronization Rate measures the strength of the connection between the Beast Taming Space, the Beast Tamer, and the beast."
"This metric fluctuates randomly between 1% and 100% for each person, and..." Qin Nan hesitated, "theoretically, once the Beast Taming Space stabilizes completely at the age of eighteen, the Ghost Energy Synchronization Rate becomes fixed and can no longer change."
"The Ghost Energy Synchronization Rate, combined with the level of the Beast Taming Space, forms the additive factor for Guardian Beast Co-operation combat. The specific formula is to add 10% to the Synchronization Rate and multiply it by the level of the Beast Taming Space," Qin Nan elaborated, glancing at Lin Su. "For instance, my Synchronization Rate is 82%, with a level-six Beast Taming Space, so my additive factor is 142%."
"The product of the guardian beast's normal energy level and the additive factor is the additional energy gained during Guardian Beast Co-operation."
That makes sense.
Lin Su immediately understood why Qin Nan's energy had increased so much during the Guardian Beast Co-operation combat.
Curiosity sparked in his eyes.
He wondered what his own Ghost Energy Synchronization Rate might be.
Sensing Lin Su's thoughts, Qin Nan chuckled. "Want to know your Ghost Energy Synchronization Rate?"
