The words that the Headmaster had spoken just now sounded like thunder without rain and wind suddenly striking the earth, and its tremors traveled through the hearts of Sarah and her family.
Sarah closed her eyes as she felt her heart hurt again. However, she tried to be strong because it was already imagined by, the end of her life story would be like this.
Long after she found out about her pregnancy, Sarah had been willing to accept the worst, in which she would hear her dismissal
from school.
Even though Sarah had imagined it before, today when her ears heard the decision directly, it turned out to be very heartbreaking.
'I've been sincere, my God. I leave it to You what my future with my child will be. But, I still hope that my life path is happy with my child no matter what, and one of them is that I have to finish my school first," Sarah said in her heart with her eyes still closed.
"As a representative and substitute for Sarah's parents, I ask for the kindness of the school to reconsider the decision to dismiss my sister, sir,"
"How will her education be if she quits school now? She's at the end of the semester now, just a few more months, sir!" Spencer sought leniency for the school's decision.
"I'm sorry, sir. We also really regret to let go of an outstanding student like Sarah. But it will be bad if we still allow Sarah to continue to study here,"
"Parents of other students will feel our school is a bad influence on their children because it allows pregnant students to attend school here,"
"So we hope that you can accept our decision. It is with a heavy heart that we have to dropout Sarah from this school!"
The headmaster has made his decision and Spencer still looks like he wants to speak up again in defense of his sister's rights. But Sarah's grip on Spencer's hand made Spencer weak.
Mrs. Katie and Spencer took a deep breath as they looked at Sarah guiltily. They were very sad because they could not help Sarah to save her future.
Amid the current silence of the Principal's office, a familiar voice Sarah and her family sounded greeting.
"Good afternoon, everyone. May I come in?" Ben greeted the people in the room.
"Ben? Please come in, son!" The supervising teacher welcomed Ben's arrival in a friendly manner.
"Sorry to interrupt the conversation of parents at this time," said Ben slightly bowing his head to those who were older than him, and finally, Ben looked at Sarah who was silent lost in thought with a blank look.
Sarah didn't know who the people who had just arrived were. But right now, her heart was still contemplating her fate which was on the cutting edge.
"I don't mean to interfere with Sarah's problem at this time and I also can't force the school to keep her going to this school until the teachers think Sarah can make this school's name ugly and polluted,"
"But I hope that the school can provide opportunities and relief for Sarah, considering that Sarah is an outstanding student who for almost three years has raised the name of the school on various occasions,"
Ben tries his luck to ask Sarah a favor. From beside Ben was Spencer who smiled at him. As if grateful for trying to help his sister selflessly.
"What do you mean, Ben? I still don't get it, son," the Headmaster asked Ben.
"I mean, let Sarah stay at this school until she finishes, after all, it's only a few months away, right, sir? By letting Sarah go to school from home, no one will know that Sarah is actually still in school and Sarah can still finish high school until the end."
Sarah immediately turned her head to direct her gaze to Ben, as if she couldn't believe every sentence Ben was trying to find a way out for her.
The principal and the supervising teacher who were there exchanged glances. Ben's request is indeed not impossible for them to grant, considering that Ben's parents are very influential people in this school.
"All right, Mr. Spencer, Madam Katie, Sarah, and Ben. For now, we cannot make a decision. We will hold a meeting of this magnitude with the other teacher councils today,"
"Today, I just end our meeting. Apologies to you, Mister and Madam, for the bad impression of us as the school, and to Sarah, I am personally sorry for the tragedy that you have experienced. Hope you stay strong even if the decision we're about to make doesn't sound good to you, Sarah,"
The principal apologized to Sarah and her family, and after that, Sarah and her family left the principal's room wondering what the school's decision would be for her.
Meanwhile, still in the same room. The headmaster intended to end this meeting and had the vice principal and supervising teacher leave from there to prepare for the teacher's meeting. But Ben stopped them.
"Wait a minute, sir. There's something I want to show you here!" Ben said as he took out his cell phone and showed something from there.
They were shocked and couldn't believe it when they saw the video playing on Ben's cellphone screen.
The video that Ben shows them to see is a video that records the moment Debora locks the gym equipment storage room after Sarah enters it.
Yes, it happened a long time ago. That was when Sarah and Deborah were in first grade while Ben was in second grade. Indeed, it happened a very long time ago, but Ben still saves the video for things that might be unexpected like now.
At that time, Deborah, who was angry after losing the inter-school basketball game, had the opportunity to lock Sarah in the gym equipment storage room which was located a bit away from the other classrooms. Incidentally, at that time school hours were also over and most of the students and school residents had left school.
There were only a few people left and they were far from the gym lessons storage room. That's when Deborah accidentally got her chance to lock up Sarah, who happened to be there to return the gym equipment they had just used.
The incident caused a stir at the school because Sarah faint due to someone else's intentional act. Sarah is rushed to the hospital after Tommy, Johnson, and Ben, get her out of there.
Back to the video that is still playing Ben…
The video also shows that Tommy and Johnson several times seem to want to open and bang on the locked door to save Sarah.
Finally when Tommy, Johnson, and Ben came to help and took Sarah who was already limp and unconscious.
"I just want to show you all that, about a case that has been closed by the school without a resolution, and so far I've been hiding it from the school,"
"At this school, Sarah gets unfair treatment. Do you know that at the time of the hospital, the family was very worried because they were waiting for Sarah to wake up? They were afraid that something bad would happen when they saw Sarah's condition. But thankfully, Sarah is fine after intensive care at the hospital."
"And now, I also heard earlier that Sarah told me about her marriage right before her father died. Did you not feel the slightest bit of compassion for Sarah when that?"
"Who would our beloved father want to leave behind? And maybe you also know, no woman wants to be married at such sad times!"
"I defend Sarah because I know Sarah very well. I also know how Sarah interacts with her friends because I am also one of the closest people to Sarah,"
"Sarah was married to a good man by her late father. Where's the harm if they just fall in love? They are the young soul. But sadly, they were too fast to do things they shouldn't have done until Sarah got pregnant."
"But Sarah's fate is unfortunate. Not long ago, her father died, and her husband also died in a plane crash that she was traveling in overseas,"
"You will also be surprised if you know who Sarah's husband is. Sarah's husband is Alex Bell, my friend. At this school, Alex was once an outstanding student by received a scholarship because of his intelligence, "
The teachers gasp at Ben's story about Sarah's real husband. Of course, they were surprised, because they knew very well that Alex was a smart student even though he grew up in an orphanage.
"I don't think there's a heart that doesn't sympathize with Sarah's plight like this, and if there is such a cruel heart, maybe that's the heart hasn't been washed yet so there's still a lot of dirt that keeps their mind blaming Sarah with negative views!"
When Ben said this, the Guiding Teacher looked down with a regretful expression on her face.
