Chapter 23 - THOUGHTS ABOUT SARAH

Meanwhile, Sarah, who had parked her motorbike which was slightly scratched, went straight to the Emergency Room to treat her wound before she headed to her baby's room.

In the Emergency Room, Sarah accidentally met Doctor Archie, who looked like he had just finished examining a woman with a big belly who seemed to be giving birth soon.

When Doctor Archie turned his head towards the entrance to the special room, his eyes saw Sarah who seemed to be sneaking away from him.

"Sarah!" called Doctor Archie who immediately made Sarah gasp and turned to Archie with a clumsy smile.

"Ah, Doctor Archie! How are you, Doctor?" replied Sarah who looked like a thief caught in the act.

"What are you-, Oh my God, what are you doing, Sarah?!" asked Doctor Archie who panicked and stopped talking to Sarah when he saw the arm that Sarah was holding was bleeding.

"Hehe! I want to treat the wound first, Doctor. After that, I want to see the little one. I really miss him," answered Sarah awkwardly.

"Yeah, I mean why are you bleeding like this? Geez, Sarah! I'm panicking right now. I'll call Spencer or Ben first, okay!" said Doctor Archie who immediately looked into his white coat pocket frantically.

But before the phone is pressed, Sarah blocks Archie's actions to call her family.

"Doctor, please don't tell anyone at home. I'm asking for help from you, Doctor! Okay?" Sarah pleaded as she pressed her palms together in front of Archie.

"Oh my God, Sarah! You are like this, but you want me to just shut up and not tell your family? I can't! I have to tell them about you now!" Archie refused while shaking his head with Sarah's attitude that kept trying to cover up her complicated situation.

"Doctor, help me, please! Brother Spencer is at work, surely he won't pick up your call. And Mom? do you want to tell my condition like this to her? You want her to worry and get sick again?" Sarah said the right thing.

Apart from Spencer, only her mother can be informed at this time. But it seemed impossible to tell Sarah the state that made her panic like this. Mrs. Katie's heart could go into shock and it would hurt her again.

"But there's still Ben, right? I also met Ben who just saw the little one. Ben must know about you, Sarah!" said Doctor Archie who continued to break Sarah's irrational persuasion.

"I know Ben keeps coming here, but we don't keep in the meet with each other anymore. It's been two weeks now Ben hasn't come home or wants to pick up my calls, Doctor. So, I beg you, don't call anyone, okay?"

"I'm going to tell you about what happened and how I got this wound earlier, huh?" Sarah's persuasion kept Archie swaying. Finally, Doctor Archie agreed and relented after seeing the sad look on Sarah's face.

"Doctor Archie! You've been waiting in the operating room now!" the voice of the nurse who was at the administrative desk of the emergency room, and was seen holding the phone while calling Doctor Archie and reporting the news to him.

"Yeah, I'm going there now!" Doctor Archie answered as he turned to the nurse, and after that, Doctor Archie looked back at Sarah.

"I'm having surgery now, Sarah. Don't go anywhere or come home from the hospital yet! I'll ask you to tell me the full story later! Come on, treat your wound first. Let me ask the nurse to clean you up, okay?" Archie said with a serious face.

Archie left after Sarah nodded her head in agreement with his orders.

***

After Mrs. Lauren experienced an unpleasant incident earlier and had to complete the procedure for catching the thief who injured him earlier, Mrs. Lauren returned to the hospital to look for the figure of the young woman who had helped her earlier. As well as treating her injured knee as a result of falling to the asphalt.

Unbeknownst to her, the young woman who had helped her earlier was a woman who wanted to know what she was like. Mrs. Lauren didn't know that Sarah had helped her.

Mrs. Lauren ordered the driver who picked her up not to tell Ben and her husband what had happened. After that, Mrs. Lauren went to the ER to treat her wound better.

Inside the Emergency Room, Mrs. Lauren saw a young woman she was looking for. Yes, there is Sarah there who is still receiving treatment on her hands.

Sarah was seen grimacing as she received a few stitches in her hand. Not because of pain because her hand had already been sedated, but rather sad to see her flesh sewn up.

Mrs. Lauren who saw Sarah immediately walked over to Sarah.

"Miss, are you okay? This wound is so big. I'm sorry, Miss!" Mrs. Lauren panicked when she saw clearly the fairly wide cut on Sarah's hand.

She who initially wanted to say hello and thank you, instead became panicked when she saw Sarah's condition.

"I'm fine, Ma'am. Just calm, right? I think you fell, huh? Have you treated your leg yet?" Sarah even asked back so that the mother in front of her did not panic.

"I've been treated earlier at the police station's home clinic, but it doesn't seem like it's done right because I want to find you, Miss! And it turns out that you are this bad!" Mrs. Lauren said again.

"And your clothes? Your shirt is torn, dear! How do you want to go home with your condition like this? Just come home with me, okay? Let's stop by to buy clothes for you first!" Ben's mother said worriedly.

"No need, ma'am! I brought a jacket on the motorbike. Don't bother with this. I'll be uncomfortable later!" refuse Sarah.

"Not good how? You have helped me so far! I feel like I don't know myself if I let you be like this, Miss! Don't reject my intentions, okay?" persuaded Mrs. Lauren again.

"Miss, thank you for helping me. You got hurt like this because you help me. Even though the contents of the bag mean nothing more than your safety!"

"Thank you very much, huh? You're a good girl. You are great! I was amazed to see you were able to fight the thug earlier until he was head over heels, you see!"

Mrs. Lauren spoke kindly to Sarah as she recalled the horrendous incident that had happened to her earlier.

"Everything has been planned by God, ma'am. I just happened to be here when you needed help earlier. Seeing you like that, I felt like I saw my mother being digitized by the thugs earlier. It's natural that I'm angry, right? And thankfully, we didn't get too bad, did we, Mom? Ha ha ha!" Sarah laughed and smiled when she thought that this incident was God's way that brings them together.

"Oh, yes, Miss! What's your name? I don't know your name yet, and who are you here to see?" Mrs. Lauren asked Sarah.

"My name is Sarah, Ma'am! I want to see my child," Sarah answered shamelessly with a smile.

Deg!

It felt like Ben's mother's heart stopped beating a second after hearing Sarah say her name and her purpose in coming to this hospital.

Mrs. Lauren immediately fell silent. Her gaze deepened into Sarah's face.

'She whose name is Sarah? Oh God, why did you show me so quickly who Sarah is?' Ben's mother thought sadly.

Seeing Mrs. Lauren who was silent, Sarah became confused.

"Ma'am, why are you so silent? You're surprised, aren't you? because I said I want to see my son here, while I still look like a schoolboy?" Sarah asked without embarrassment or preamble because she was sure, the mother in front of her was surprised by what she just said.

Without answering, Mrs. Lauren nodded confirming Sarah's question.

"Yes, I was surprised. I didn't think you had a child this young," said Ben's mother, who began to change her gaze to Sarah.

Mrs. Lauren didn't think that Sarah wasn't ashamed to admit her status as a young mother when she was still a student.

"Naturally, ma'am. Everyone will be surprised when they find out that I already have children. But it's nobody's fault, right? I can't close my eyes and other people's mouths so they don't see or talk about me. I can only cover my ears so I don't hear and just smile every time I see those who think anything,"

"I'm never angry, really!" continued Sarah.

Hearing Sarah's words this time, Mrs. Lauren quipped because in her mind and heart she questioned Sarah's personality as a woman.

"They don't know what I've been through. They also don't know what my life is like until now. so, just smile. After all, my life is happy, really!"

"My goodness! Why even do I share my story? Hehe, I'm sorry, ma'am!"

Sarah, who felt comfortable talking, did not hide her feelings at this time, and Sarah's honest attitude when she told her how she felt was sincere in Ben's mother's eyes.
