The market was buzzing, as it was filled with people. This was the day of punishing one of the nobles, which had never happened before.
For the first time, the king had decreed one of the high classes would be flogged publicly, and everyone in Thebes wanted to witness it.
Akila, same as them, didn't believe what the king's judgment was that day and it happened just for her.
On the other hand, her friends were talking and laughing among themselves as if this were a normal day.
They even were discussing where to go next and what would they buy from the market.
"What about you Akila? Did anything catch your fancy?"
Heba asked her, and Akila just stared at her in wonderment. How could she act as if some soul wasn't going to be tortured?
"I'm not sure. I think I will head straight back to the palace."
She said, ignoring all their questioning eyes, this world doesn't suit her. She is not a heartless woman.
