Chapter 2 - Ringing Sounds

While the lady rushed to the golden wall, her body starts to feel the light touch like a feather, like her body is flying.

The moment she crossed the golden wall, the cocoon exploded in thousands of golden particles, then a white light blinded her eyes, forcing her to close them. And for fear of being caught, she continues to run with her eyes closed.

That said, she was not sure where she was running towards if she can't even determine her surroundings.

The only thing she knows is that the night was almost coming to an end. And her persecutors will make some ruthless actions against her before the sun rises.

For the moment, the faster she goes, the faster she can be safe. And did not notice that her speed is getting slower and slower.

She puckered her ears to search for the sound of river flow. They've trained her from a very young age and one of her pieces of training was that, where it's a river flow, there is a way to get out of every forest.

Disappointed, she could only hear the rustling of the surrounding leaves.

She knows that the light is still hindering her view because it burns slightly her eyelids.

Helpless with her current situation, she wanted to stop and see what happened with the people chasing after her.

She stopped running and just as she was about to turn around…

Ring… Ring…

She heard a weak ringing sound of a bell. And it stopped her from turning around.

'What is that sound?' asked the lady in her mind.

'I think the ringing of a bell?' asked the female childish voice from the lady's mind.

'Maybe you could follow the sound, and see where it takes you?' asked the male childish voice.

Nodding in agreement to the childish voice's doubtful question, she just moves forward slowly, trying to find the direction where the ringing sounds come from.

Every step she took, the ringing sound becomes strong. And she could find the path leading her to the source of the sound.

For some reason, the sound can captivate her heart.

Holding the hope of there being somebody else out there, she started walking a little slow towards the sound that was seemingly getting closer and closer.

She lost track of how much time has passed since she starts moving forward, chasing the sound.

At this point, sweat runs through her forehead. She feels tired. Her legs soon gave in to the extreme exhaustion as she landed on her knees and then on her butt.

The ringing bell sounds soon disappear. And she wanted to open her eyes, feeling exhausted, and paying attention to her ears, she then notices the light stopped to burn her eyelids.

When she opens her eyes. She started looking about her surroundings.

A deep forest surrounded by tall trees. No different from the one she was before, or so she thought…

It was thanks to the glimmer of the moon that she wasn't totally cloaked in darkness. It was only then, did the lady started regretting acting recklessly as she did, following the sound.

'Sigh…'

There is nothing, only small trees.

"I come here just to continue to be in a forest. What I'm going to do?" She asked out loud.

"Well, first of all, you could stand up. The ground is too cold for a charming lady like you. Be careful to catch a cold and be bedridden. It would be a pity to see you pale like a sheet." A male, soft, enchanting voice resounded from behind her.

She turns around faster to see the owner of the voice and found something, it makes her open her eyes wide and her mouth so big that she could swallow a common egg.

Her abrupt action made her cloak covering her head falls off.

Facing her, an enchanting man was seeing her abode, so tall that she could only raise her head to admire the perfect creation. And a smile that made her feel butterflies in her stomach to welcome her sight. His soft and tender eyes made her heart melt.

'A gentleman is like jade, warm and lustrous.' Was the line she read in a romance novel before.

She was lost in his attractiveness that she did not notice the light coming from her right arm. The long sleeve and the fluffy cloak cover her arm, but the faint light can still be seen.

The enchanting man saw the light, and his purple eyes flashed with something unknown.

"He he he."

What awakens her was a soft and attractive chuckle resounding in his throat.

"Oh… Eh… Ah… Well…" she got frustrated. Her mouth moved, but every sound of her voice coming out did not have any meaning whatsoever.

Shy and nervous, she knew her beauty was exposed. Blinking, she lowers her head to see her appearance, her dress was clean and tidy.

She raised her hand to touch her head. Her long, platinum blond hair remains tied up in a high ponytail that reached the ground outside her cloak. As if making a bed on top of her head, a braid is under a golden crown.

She sighs in relief.

'It's good… I'm not messy or something… I'm giving a good first impression…' lost in her thoughts, she did not notice him getting closer to her until a shadow eclipsed the glimmer of the moon.

When the man saw her reddened ears so close, his tender and lovely gaze grew.

'Ah, you came directly to me, once again… My lovely...' He thought in his mind.

His happiness emanates from his body. 'Oh no. I've to control myself.'

He composes himself; he did not want to scare her. Nor did he want to make her feel uncomfortable. He can wait a little longer.

When the lady got immersed in her thoughts about the first impression she could give to the man in front of her, she forgot, that this is the first time she gets panicky in front of a man.

Her composed, cool, and elegant demeanor lost its shine in front of the man. She never lost her composure in front of anyone, since she was a child, she was raised to become the best of the best.

Even if she got angry, envious, and jealous eyes surrounding her every day, she never cared about them. But now, the man in front of her makes her feel the contrary.

The comfortable wind dances between them, there are no insect or animal sounds, only the wind dancing around them.

Her platinum blond hair did not move when she was running and his black hair with a blue light shone, seemingly like the hair of both of them are dancing together.
