"Hissss ouch." Winced a lady with a head full of silver hair. "Uhg, no matter how many times I do it, it still hurts like a bitch..."
With a hand pinching the bridge of her nose, the maiden slowly sat up and gazed at her surroundings. Her silver hair cascaded down her back and it revealed the pretty face hidden underneath. It certainly wasn't stunningly beautiful, however it gave off a certain elegance that matched the woman's atmospheric indifference. "Where is this...hmm?"
The woman paused her words midway as she slowly clenched a jade carved hand together. "Spiritual aura..so a cultivation world? How fun!"
The woman was Yinyue. Slowly, Yinyue gazed at her surroundings. "A forest?" Then her eyes glowed. "That means a lot of herbs! I might just stay here for a while..."
Gracefully, Yinyue stood up and looked around for a water source. Not suprisingly, it hadn't taken long at all to spot one, a majestic waterfall. Yinyue leaned over to spy on her appearence in reflective surface. "This face...no way."
'It's almost identical to my first life...' With elegant phoenix shaped eyes, a small nose, and pointed chin. Same as all her lifes, not jaw droppingly gorgeous, however the more you stared, the more temptation you felt to bow down and worship as one would do to a queen. A majestic, yet pretty face. 'I've never had one this similar before...Whatever, I'll think about it later.'
Narrowing her eyes, Yinyue started to gaze at the waterfall at all sorts of different angles. 'Actually, this place is pretty good I could set up a base here..Would have to set up a few arrays first.'
Yinyue then broke a long branch off from a near by tree to use as a drawing stick. A book appearing in her hand as she was doing so. "Let's see...it's been a while since my last cultivation world how do arrays work again?"
The book disappeared into air as suddenly as it appeared. Branch in hand, Yinyue smoothly drew out multiple complicated patterns in the dirt, moving rocks and small stones as well as leaves while she was doing so. Yinyue could feel more and more sets of eyes observing her as she was drawing out the arrays. Turning on her feet she directly met the eyes of a snake like woman standing in the shrubbery far away from her.
Yinyue: ...
The strange woman: ...
Glaring down the 'snake woman', Yinyue gave a warning glance before continuing on drawing her arrays.
The 'snake woman': were arrays supposed to be this easy...?
Yinyue finished her project a few hours later and smiled at her handy work. 'Not bad for my first time drawing arrays in...well whatever. I have something else to take care of first.'
Pivoting around on her feet, Yinyue glared at the snake woman who was still there. "What are you still doing here?"
The snake woman suddenly kowtowed to Yinyue. "PLEASE ACCEPT THIS JUNIOR AS A DISCIPLE!"
Multiple gasps came from the forest.
The ignorant Yinyue: ....
"Why..should I-?" Yinyue tilted her head in confusion.
'S-so cute.' The snake woman thought then chased the thought away. This was clearly an expert who came on reatreat! Definitely one of those legendary recluses from the human realm who were said to not dwell in wordly affairs. She couldn't be so disrespectful to such a honorable person. "W-welll...I study arrays myself senior! And seeing you so proficient in them not even needing any aura to activate them first..I thought that I could learn a lot from senior!"
"No I mean, what benefits me if I accept you as a disciple? State your name too while you're at it." Yinyue questioned. 'A disciple is a student right? I forgot...'
"Yes! This junior is named Baiqian. I know this territory extremely well? I know I don't look impressive, but I'm already a rank four array master despite my young age! As well as a rank two doctor!" Baiqian's eyes suddenly grew firm. "Senior certainly won't be disappointed accepting me as a disciple. I will do my best to live up to Senior's expectations even if my talent in cultivation isn't high."
Yinyue who didn't know what any of that meant: ...
'Why can't all worlds just have the same grading system...' Yinyue pondered for a moment before nodding with a small: "Sure." She had to live up to the role of a wise mentor now.
"Senior please reconsider!" Another sage looking man walked out of the bushes.
Yinyue: ....why do all old men choose look like a sage..
The old man coughed a few time before speaking while Baiqian stared at the ground while gritting her teeth. "Senior please, my third granddaughter here is untalented. If you'd be willing to wait, I could bring over some of my other much more talented grandchildr-"
Yinyue cut him off coldly. "No." Then helped the kneeling Baiqian up. "Little Qianqian, watch me modify these arrays and I'll answer any questions you have."
Patting Baiqian's hand, Yinyue glares at the old man coldly. To treat a granddaughter like that...Being a mentor could be troublesome but she could just throw her some notes. This grandfather didn't seem to like his granddaughter at all. Yinyue wouldn't normally care about any of this but prehaps seeing her currebt face brought back too much nostalgia.
Baiqian tearfully thanked Yinyue who waved her hand to activate all the arrays she just set up. A light flashed before all the extra audience members were expelled away from Yinyue and Baiqian's soon to be new home.
Yinyue turned to Baiqian, it was dusk by now and the light shining on Yinyue's face truky made her look like a ruler. "From now on, you-" Yinyue held one of Baiqian's hands. "Are my, Yinyue's first disciple. I'll take care of you from now on."
Baiqian swore eternal loyalty to Yinyue that day and with greatful tears, called out: "Yes! This disciple greets master!!" Giving a bright smile Baiqian declared, "I'll also take care of master from now on!"
