"Sir! Sir?! Are you okay?"
Beatrix blushed when she heard the voice and opened her eyes.
Damien moved away from her and she averted her gaze hoping that the ground would swallow her at this moment.
Damien opened the door and Beatrix watched as he came face to face with the air hostess before letting her know that everything was fine.
She peered over his shoulder and looked at Beatrix with a smug face that confounded her, before she lowered her head and retreated.
"Are you okay, Beatrix?"
Beatrix straightened herself out by pushing off against the wall.
She bit her lips and threaded her fingers through her hair as Damien avoided looking at her in the eye.
He stood sideways and guarded, extending one arm out to her, as if unsure of what to do with it.
"Y-yeah—I'm fine." She said and forced out a smile even though she was screaming inside.
"Then I' uhhh… give you a moment." Damien nodded and placed his hands in his pocket.
Beatrix wanted to scream at him that she didn't need a moment. She needed him to continue where he left off.
He stepped out and closed the door behind him. She took a deep breath to collect herself before she followed him.
He had a deep frown on his face as he talked to a man in the cockpit. Apparently they were discussing what had happened.
Damien turned around to find her standing behind him. His eyes momentarily locked with hers across the aisle as he stood tall, demanding and rattled, until the air hostess whose name she didn't bother to catch infiltrated the space between them blocking her view.
"Can I help you back to your seat, Ma'am?"
Beatrix flashed her a small smile before tucking a lock of her hair behind her ear and shaking her head.
She flashed Beatrix a warm smile and her eyes diverted to her breasts pulling her bottom lip under her teeth, while eyeing her playfully
Beatrix raised her brows. She couldn't help but wonder if she was attracted to women before she moved out of the way.
Beatrix headed back to her seat and not long after Damien joined her.
"Would you like something to eat?" He asked as he sat beside her.
Beatrix met his eyes and she could swear that she saw his mouth quiver before his tongue glided over his bottom lip.
Her heart fluttered in her chest and she fidgeted before she nodded her head.
Damien waved the pretty air hostess over.
"Are you allergic to anything?" Damien asked softly before he placed the order.
"No." Beatrix replied softly.
"What do you think we should have done?"
Beatrix widened her eyes in surprise and pointed a finger at her chest, "M-me?" She wasn't expecting him to let her decide the food.
"Ermm….let's have lobster rolls, truffle potatoes, French langoustines and scallops with champagne sabayon, beef fillet carpaccio, black truffles from Périgord, mini baguettes and butter rosettes."
She replied to him coyly.
Damien stared at her with the tiniest hint of smile on his lips before he nodded briefly at her and turned at the hostess.
"We will have just that Abigail, Thank you"
Abigail so that was the hostess's name
"Right away, sir."
Abigail walked away but not before smiling at Beatrix once again.
Beatrix watched him take out his phone from his pocket. His mouth thinned to a grim line. Whatever that was on his phone he wasn't pleased with it and it showed.
His brows were furrowed in concentration and Beatrix was having a hard time looking away.
He looked so good that all she could think about was why the hell he didn't kiss her earlier.
He wanted to kiss her right? Or she had misread the situation?
Had he simply been attempting to make sure that she was all right? Had she imagined it all?
No, the look in his eyes, the feel of his hands…the tension that had occurred between them was more than just simple concern for her safety..
She turned her head and stared out the windshield, too thrown off by what had just happened to attempt a conversation.
The nerves scaling their way up her chest and into her throat didn't help. She supposed it was the way his smell lingered all around her and the fact that he was right beside her.
"Are you alright?" Damien asked quietly, his amber eyes focusing on her with a slight frown.
Beatrix bit down on the inside of her cheek before she slowly tilted her head to look at him.
"I'm fine."
Even though she was far away from being fine.
