Chapter 74 - Lei

Lei was totally dead. He arrived in Hong Kong to see his father, exhausted, but thankfully happy. He found the company was working as it should. Zhu long was blooming.

"Why should I be here? I could have been with Lili," Lei whined to his father as they walked inside his office from the meeting room, where they had both just attended a weekly meeting. He stopped at the door and stared at his office table.

"See why?" Weiwu pointed at the stacks of papers all over the office.

"What the heck happened? How? You used to work like this too," Lei asked, being shocked. It was totally weird to see his father not doing the paperwork diligently.

"Hey, don't look at me. I had many problems with your younger brother. He made headlines a few times." Lei nodded. He read some of them, but he didn't know it was this bad.

"But why didn't you have Dylan manage it and take care only of this company? I was working even from Europe!" Lei exclaimed, still bewildered.

"I left Zhu long to Dylan, but what happened to your brother was partially your fault. And mine. Somehow, when you are not single anymore, their next target was Chao, and they made a few steps without us knowing." Lei frowned. There were many things wrong. And when he saw the towers of papers he had to go through, he decided he would talk about them while working.

"Sit down and I'll listen to you while working. Tell me what happened." Lei sat behind the table and started working. Thankfully, whoever made those towers sorted them out. Some were pretty urgent, but the ones on the side, the two biggest towers, could wait even a few weeks. So it wasn't as bad as it looked like when he came in.

"How did they even know I'm not single anymore?" Lei asked out of nowhere because that was something bugging him for a longer time.

"Oh… I talked to Jiaer. The secretary of our financial manager was a snitch from CEO Hei. I had to wash our dirty laundry in public because of him. So well, they knew we left Hong Kong, and they knew where we were going, so they said a bit here and there," Weiwu explained, and Lei groaned.

He hated being in public as much as Chao did. He had no idea why everyone was so interested in him. But since his face helped a bit to sell some more games, he was okay with having it being used by the PR department. As soon as they weren't probing into his privacy a lot.

"So… because they knew I'm no longer single, they tried to push their daughters onto Chao?" Lei asked, trying to get everything sorted out.

"Yes, and Hei's son tried to make a mess too, so I took care of that too. And told everyone how your mother died." Weiwu sighed. He wanted to keep it a secret. It was too painful for all of them, but he did not know how Lei would react at all.

He was old enough to remember everything. They were six years apart. So at that time when the accident happened, Lei was fourteen. He understood everything that had happened.

"Oh, and what about Chao? Is he good? After learning about the circumstances? Is he still pissed at you?" Lei asked. Weiwu was surprised that Lei took it this well. The breach of privacy.

"Actually, he was okay. I think Yitian was crying that I had accepted their relationship. And Chao was glad too. They just wanted to play games in peace." Lei stopped writing and looked up from the papers.

"You accepted them?" he asked, stunned. Weiwu nodded, frowning.

"You didn't?" Lei's father asked, a bit confused. Why was his son so surprised about him being accepting?

"With Lili? I think I even saw three BL series… There is no way I couldn't accept my brother being gay." Lei stopped and then grinned.

"I think she would be an amazing cult leader. She can manipulate you into thinking what she wants. Before I was stuck up my ass, thinking being different this way was weird. But since I met her… I love weirdness even more, but especially hers. Her free-minded thinking is something many people should try." Lei looked at his phone. They missed each other these past two days. It was weird that Lili hadn't called yet. She would usually write at least.

Lei called her, ignoring the knowing expression on his father's face. But was confused that Lili wasn't picking up. He tried it three more times, but the phone just kept ringing.

Frowning, Lei tried to call Lucy. She was the second person after him that would know where Lili was. At first, she wasn't picking up either. But she picked up her phone after a fifth ring.

"Mmm," she mumbled into the phone, obviously still asleep. Lei just shook his head and chuckled.

"Do you know where Lili is? Why isn't she picking up?" he asked. Lucy was suddenly doing something around because Lei could hear the frantic moving of blankets and boots.

"Fuck!" Lucy shouted out, and Lei frowned even more. What was going on? He waited for a while waiting for an answer, but Lucy hung up on him telling him she would call back. And she did. After a half-hour.

"Lili had disappeared! I called everyone but nobody saw her today. She was supposed to call me, but she didn't. Her parents have no idea what happened, either. She just vanished!" Lucy finished, but before he even finished Lei already picked up his company's line and ordered for the private jet to be ready.

"Lili is missing. I'm going back to Czechia!" he shouted while running out of his office, ignoring everything again. His father couldn't even react when Lei was already gone. He looked at the papers and went to take care of them himself.

Hopefully, Lili would be found soon.
