Lili got so many congratulatory messages. Most of them were simple and ordinary. Her mother even posted on her wall the word finally… Her own family was bullying her.
When Lili told Lei what her mom said, he couldn't stop laughing. He expected some words against him, but nothing like this. But he had the same problem with his father, so he got that.
Because Jin louje was delighted so much about this news that he wanted to buy a new house for them. Lili still had the urge to facepalm when she recalled the time Lei said it to her. And to be honest, she was a bit freaked out about how easily those people spend their money.
"When are you coming back?" Was the first message she got from Adam after that night call she had with him. Maybe he pulled his head out of his own ass. So, Lilie decided to reply to him.
Why be a petty person? Even though he was so rude at that time. But he may have been overworked or something. And when her nanny died, he was encouraging her.
"Mmm, in a month or two," she wrote back. Lili still had time before her temporary visa would expire. If she wanted to be longer in Hong Kong, she would have to apply for a new one.
Actually, after marrying Lei, she would have the right to be in Hong Kong on a family visa. They would have no reason to forbid her from coming here.
"Can't you come back now?" Adam sent another message. Lili thought for a bit.
She was getting used to living here. It was more fun than being home alone, on a call with Lucy, or sometimes meeting her clients, which was rare. Because she dealt with her orders online and custom-made jewelry was expensive, and not many people could afford it.
"I'm sorry, but I just got engaged to Lei. I can't leave him so soon. Is it an emergency?" There was no reply for quite a while, which was odd. But he probably had work.
"You have a fiancé?" he asked her.
'Ehm, yes, being engaged usually means that you have a fiancée,' she thought ironically and took a deep breath.
"Yes. His name is Jin Lei." She should be patient. Slow. Understanding.
"Why?" he asked, and Lili frowned, confused. Lei looked her way.
"What's going on, honey?" he asked.
Lili was sitting on their bed and he was going over some papers with Dylan on the couch on the opposite side of the room. He was in front of her. Just enough to look up and see her.
"Adam just asked why I have a fiancée. I do not know why he asked…" Lei's brows shot up too. He thought for a bit and then shrugged. Dylan was looking from one to the other, and then he sighed.
"Pff. You are both the same. Could that guy have a crush on you?" He grinned at Lili's shocked face.
"That's impossible. He would never like me." Lili quickly denied it, shaking her head. She was so clueless. Her confidence rose a bit after meeting Lei, but she still did not know how appealing she was to other guys. Low confidence was damnation for all women.
"But he behaves like a jealous husband of yours. Moody, demanding…" Dylan said and looked back at the papers.
Lili recalled how he behaved at the anime convention. Dylan might have been right. In certain aspects, Adam behaved like someone possessive.
"Because he asked and I love him," she replied to Adam's message. Better to be truthful and straightforward. She sent another message.
"I can't imagine being with someone else," Lili read out the messages for them to hear and Lei blushed a tiny bit.
From now on, she would read every message she got from Adam. So he wouldn't get jealous. Even though he had no reason to be. He was the only one who sparked a fire of interest after a long time.
"Good answer. Be direct and firm. He won't then see openings and try to snatch you away." Dylan grinned and Lei shot him a hateful gaze.
Dylan was becoming one of the team. He actually fitted in perfectly, being as dorky as others. He had the same sense of humor.
"'Okay, I just wanted you to make a necklace for my new girlfriend.' that's what he wrote back," she read it to them again. And looked at Lei, an obvious question in her eyes for him.
"Not now. You know you don't have to work at all, right? I can take care of you. And you can actually become a pro player on our team. Forging weapons and getting paid." Lei winked at her in an answer. And she grinned.
"You want to be my sugar daddy?" Dylan spat out the water he was just drinking and started coughing. A lot.
"I think there are some things I don't need to know. Just tell me if I have to write a new contract for her. But this guy… I don't think it's all. I feel some hidden motives." Dylan shook his head while cleaning the papers he wetted. Then he pretended to read them and did not listen to them anymore.
"I know you want to take care of me, but I like making jewelry. But I promise I won't make as much as before, fewer customers. I won't have to go away from you for long periods of time often," she smiled and Lei nodded and then got back to reading the papers.
"I don't think he has hidden motives. Adam is a successful anesthesiologist. He is from a rich family and can have whatever he wants," she said, looking at Dylan. He raised his head from the papers, knowing she was talking to him because of the change in her voice.
"And what if he wants you…" he disagreed with her.
"Impossible," she said firmly and proceeded to send a replying message.
"I can make it here. Just tell me the style you want. And I'm glad you found someone," she sent, but got no reply for a while.
But then her DMs were flooded with requests from total strangers. She looked through them, and most of them were hateful comments about her appearance. Or on the other hand, obscene messages from an old guy.
Lili was furrowing her brows. When Chao came in without knocking. Or more like slamming the doors open.
"Brother, we have a problem. Hongjie was training with Lili's account and something came up. You have to see it for yourself. It's really bad!" he exclaimed, out of breath from sprinting there.
