Chapter 68 - Chapter 68 - The Imperial Princess' 'Curiosity' [1]

Angelica Godhart POV:

When I heard the news that the only son of the Pendragon House had survived, my heart almost stopped beating right then and there. Fear flowed through my body for the first time in over five years.

I had told the Darkness not to investigate him because of my lack of curiosity. But it wasn't because of something like that. It was 'instinct.' The kind of instinct that screamed at you to run. When I was in my room, I started shivering, my eyes became bloodshot, and I started recalling the nightmares I had when I first looked at his soul.

The soul is the representation of a person's being, and his soul was shapeless, it was as if he wasn't a person. It scared me fucking shitless, but it wasn't like I wanted to hurt him or anything, I was just scared of him for no reason. I kind of had a phobia of him and for good fucking reason.

I sighed, it was shameful to fear someone who just got out of being tortured for years upon years. Especially when they were someone who had inherited the blood of the noble Dragon's.

"Maybe I'm just being paranoid..."

I went and laid down on my bed, in two or so years, I'd go to Babylon. To increase my reputation, my status, and my strength, I needed to perform at my best there. Our Empire would already have Irene as a second year when I joined, so I might be able to have her join my faction.

And I should also be able to get Leon and some others into my faction. But honestly, I'd rather not have that Valier guy in my faction. He was an unknown variable whose personality, ambitions, and ideals just weren't known. We didn't even have a good estimate of his strength or if he had inherited any Bloodline abilities.

"Well, I doubt he'll be dumb enough to cause issues. And he has a negligible political influence as well, so it's not like it'll be a huge issue even if he does decide to do something stupid. Unless it's really fucking dumb."

Valier POV:

After I had bonded with the Fenrir, it turned into a shadow like thing and hopped back into my body, this time, it sort of relaxed near my heart, occasionally siphoning off power from my body, Demonic Seed, or Core. From what I was currently feeling, it didn't seem to be taking up a huge amount.

The Fenrir was currently resting up and that was fine, there was no reason for it to be awake 24/7, so long as it served its purpose.

I then relaxed for a moment and breathed, the Shadows around me warped and the space around me distorted.

"Come forth, my Hassan."

Several figures with humanoid-ish bodies appeared, however, they did have some monstrous features here and there. Some of them had skull masks (?), weird arms and legs, extra limbs, odd, sharp fingernails, and more.

They were all on one knee and their presence was non-existent, well all aside from one. Although his presence was non-existent he wasn't on one knee, in fact, he was staring me in the eyes. He was larger than every other Hassan, probably around two hundred and forty centimeters. (Like, high end 7 feet or just barely 8 feet tall, can't remember since I googled it yesterday.)

"You are..?"

He didn't reply, he merely looked at me, sizing me up and seemingly attempting to figure something out.

"You... are not worthy to be my master."

And with that, the largest one disappeared, however, the rest remained.

One of the Hassans looked up at me, although I couldn't see any of his facial features, as most of his body was made up of shadows.

"The rest of us are at your disposal, due to your inherent weapon copying abilities you will likely be able to harness the strength of those of us who use special weapons."

I was slightly confused since I just got talked down to by some edgy ass giant dude, but it was fine, one of the main reasons I wanted the Hassans was to gather information, however, now I had the ability to create replicates of their weapon's abilities.

I activated my Demonic Eyes, the more information I had on the weapon whose ability I was copying, the more refined the copy was.

So, I began to go around and copy the abilities of several different Hassan, I couldn't summon all of them yet due to my lacking strength. However, I copied the abilities of the ones who I could. Most of them weren't amazing to be honest, all but a few were almost only usable in hyper specific situations.

However, I was quite fond of a certain Hassan's armor's ability.

'Poison Blood.'

The armor had supposedly fused to his body and made his blood poisonous and corrosive to everything aside from himself. To use a weapons ability I didn't inherently have to create the weapon.

And to copy a weapon's ability I just needed to see it, analyze its power, and hold it if possible. And then the weapon's ability was stored in my body for later use. My eyes helped with analysis quite a lot, to be honest.

It seemed like I too wouldn't be able to turn off my blood's properties, but I could tone it down to the point where it barely did anything. My abilities' potency wasn't very high as of right now, but it was still poisonous at the end of the day.

"You know, most of these abilities really are useless... but I'm pretty sure I can make use of them."
