Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 - Preparing To Storm Britannia

A/N: Just got back home today and I'm on holiday from school, so I should be able to post more frequently for a while! And sorry for the somewhat rushed chap, this was mostly a filler, but if I start the next bit then the chap would be oddly formatted, so yeah, wait a bit

Irene Pendragon POV:

It had been around five weeks or so since my last battle, I was currently with the Sword Saint and her Highness Angelica. Although I hadn't noticed it when I was first being saved by the Sword Saint, but she was immensely beautiful. She had fair skin, which was extremely surprising for a Swordswoman considering that warrior types usually receive the most wounds.

She had long, silky black hair that was tied up in a neat ponytail. She also had a rather curvaceous body, her chest seemed to be large enough to hinder her sword skills, but whenever I'd see her fight, her attacks always seemed to flow smoothly.

(E/N: First waifu!!!!! Let's goooooooo! Also, post a pic man, we need one.)

I looked at Angelica Godhart. I wasn't sure of her capabilities, but I knew she was weaker than me, and that was all I knew. Our bloodlines were roughly on equal footing, Angels and Dragons were both among the top tiers in terms of the rankings of Divine Beasts.

Claire spoke up and looked at me and Angelica.

"We'll be attacking Brittannia in three weeks' time, we'll attack them head on. We've made solid progress in taking over their land. And, by the looks of it, we'll be able to charge into their capital soon enough. We need to watch out for that blonde haired guy, he was able to sneak into the Archduchy and annihilate several legions of knights without really trying a few years back. And he was able to get a hold of some sort of teleportation ability, actually it was probably an ancient scroll he was able to attain in a dungeon. But either way, he seems to be a high-ranking member of the enemy's military."

Angelica had an odd look on her face as she replied to Claire and said,

"The power to manipulate space is a lost art, and the possibility of a person with a unique attribute is next to zero. So we can assume they were able to find a scroll that was left behind or formed in a dungeon."

Claire smiled, she seemed to understand where Angelica was coming from, but ultimately, she disagreed with the Princess' assessment.

"No, the only thing we are actually capable of truly confirming is that they telelorted. Perhaps they used some sort of device, perhaps they truly did gain the ability to teleport. There's also the possibility of it being an unheard of bloodline or rune ability."

"Anyways, Master, I hope you remember our agreement."

Claire nodded her head, our agreement was a simple one. Under no circumstances would she allow anyone other than myself to kill that man. I wouldn't be able to live my life if I didn't kill him. Next year I'm going to the academy, so before that, I'll clear my debt of blood.

Claire placed a hand on my shoulder and I was then shook awake. I looked around and saw that there were several cracks in the walls.

I looked over to Angelica, who was covered in cold sweat, well, she had probably received the fright of her life considering she had sat right next to me. She took a moment to breathe and slowly regained her composure, it seemed that she wasn't particularly affected by my pressure, well physically. It was more like she had no experience in facing the sudden unrestrained pressure of someone more powerful than her.

I glanced at her body, it was rather frail, she was probably the ranged type who could use large scale magic once or twice in battle before running out of power.

I didn't bother apologising, it'd probably wound her pride if I apologized. If I apologized, it'd almost be like saying 'My bad for being too strong for you to handle.' And, although I didn't need Angelica as an ally, it wasn't like I needed her as an enemy. I already had a strong enough one to kill soon enough.

Valier POV:

3 weeks. That was how long I thought it'd take me to escape from here. I had currently memorised the layout of the prison I was in. The prison was more or less impossible for me to destroy with physical blows. From what I was able to find out by talking to other galdiators and some of the guards, I'm in a prison situated on the west end of the Brittanian capital and the Coliseum is built near the center of the capital.

Apparently since the people at this prison either can't use Mana of have had their Mana sealed, they're seen, or rather, we're seen as a lesser threat. This makes life many times easier for me as I won't have to try and sneak into the Royal Palace's treasury.

I looked at the two thin metal doughnut shaped things attatched to my wrists, one suppressed my Mana while the other suppressed my Cursed Energy. I've tried using both energies before, but they've not worked at all. And of course, I have no intention of trying to break them, they're far more durable than the low quality weapons we're able to use. And I don't even want to think about how far the Britannians would be willing to go to supress an inmate.

My best bet would likely be waiting until the Fenrir hatches. If it can destroy the suppressors, or better yet make a portal, then I'll be fine. So long as I'm able to full access my abilities.

"I can't wait to get out of here."
