Chapter 49 - Chapter 49 - Storming Britannia [4]

A/N: Was sick and wasn't really wanting to write, so uhh yeah. My bad guys, I'm okay now though.

Damien POV:

Using my Amazonian Arts, I focused my entire being onto my sword. My presence became entirely indistinguishable from the sword. My muscles began to ripple with pure, unrestrained physical force. I felt my life force wrap itself around my sword, no, it didn't wrap itself around my sword. It had been 'entrusted' to my sword.

To use this specific Amazonian Art, a person needed to have a powerful connection with their weapon, after all, with this art, you and your blade will both be destroyed. I looked at my blade and saw my own reflection, this blade was the one my mother had given me when I began training. It wasn't anything expensive, or anything cheap. It was average.

It wasn't anything special.

'I remember when me and my mother were exiled from our homeland by the other Amazons. Although I do dislike them, my mother did break their laws so I can at the very least understand them.'

"Well, I suppose there's no use reminiscing about the past."

Taking a deep breath, my mind began to fuse with the will of my sword.

'Slice his neck off.'

That was the only thought I had. That was the only thing I could think of doing.

I put some more pressure into my feet and dashed forward, within a mere fraction of a second my body had already arrived right in front of Valier. I slashed my sword at his neck, however he slammed his elbow into my arm forced my blade into his torso, he used his Breathing Technique thing to tense his strengthened muscles to hold my sword in place. However, I pushed against it, my attack began to produce heat due to how tightly I was gripping my sword and how much friction was being generated due to my sword rubbing against his muscles.

Valier's eyes widened for a moment, blood seeped from his mouth. For the first time in this fight, he had received a wound. And now, his flesh was being burnt from the inside out, the heat was so intense that it began to burn my own hands. But I kept holding on, this led to my blade becoming even hotter and it even began producing a low, red glow.

Valier placed his hands on my hands and began trying to crush them, the heat produced by my hands began to burn his skin, but it wasn't enough to slow him down. I watched him take another breath. His strength increased and he began taking the now glowing red sword out of his body. As soon as the blade was taken out of his body, I fell down to the ground, unable to stand, however I was still gripping my sword.

Valier looked down at me with disdain and while holding his side, he spoke.

"I didn't think you were stupid enough to think you could win against me, especially when you're not even a 'named character.'"

His pressure began dominating the area, it wasn't even killing intent, it was just his pure strength. The ground began cracking and craters were formed around us.

"But even then, I sort of expected more from you."

After saying that, he then brought his foot to my chest and place it on it. As my body was about to be crushed, I saw a blonde haired man with long hair screaming and telling everyone to run. Valier's presence began to change, or rather, it was as if there was a second presence inside him. The presence was... incomprehensible. However it dissappeared almost instantly.

My body was finally crushed by Valier's foot. My ribcage collapsed, my heart and muscles were shredded and my sword crumbled.

Valier POV:

I looked at the blonde man, I had more or less realised the situation from his yelling. The Tenebirs Empire had finally made it's move. Now, I just had to make my escape. I dashed onto the arena walls and scaled them and began to make my way to highest seats of the coliseum. Before I could jump out, I saw the blonde man preparing an attack.

A blast of pure Mana was sent towards me a breakneck speeds, I placed my arms into a cross and the shockwave sent me flying back. I quickly bit my tongue and used my Demon's Breath to make certain parts of my body bleed. I then fell for a little bit before crashing onto the ground.

I looked at the shackles that used to bind me, they had shattered.

"Finally, I can use magic once more."

So as to not be sensed by the blondie, I opted to using Cursed Energy to form a weapon instead of using Mana. I formed my sword, 'Edge Of Nightfall' and swung it a few times. Now that my mind was more... stable, I could actually use my sword properly. And my techniques would be far more precise and deadly because of that mental stability.

I looked around at the pool of blood I had formed. I had made sure to release a relatively large amount of blood when the attack hit for a few reasons, one of them was to make it hard for my assailant to see whether they had properly hit my body, and the other was to make it so that he believed that the attack had killed my already weakened body in one blow.

He would more than likely think I had been killed and he probably wouldn't bother me unless we encountered one another later on. And if I did have to fight him head on, I'd definitely die.

I placed a hand on where the Fenrir's Egg was, it was throbbing. The Fenrir would soon come into existence.

I took a moment to take in my surroundings, I could 'see' a rather large building that was undoubtedly the Brittanian Palace. It was almost indistinguishable to a medieval castle, it wasn't made of the extravagant materials that the Imperial Castle had, but it possessed an almost awe inspiring might. It was more like an impenetrable fortress than a castle if you thought about it.

As I made my way to the Brittanian Castle by jumping from building to building, I started to realise that this place's architecture looked a lot like 20th century Britain. And there were also a rather large amount of hospitals. I didn't go inside any of them for obvious reasons, but I could see into them via their windows and the equipment looked somewhat futuristic.

'Was there some sort of epidemic recently? Why would you even need this many hospitals?'

As I dashed from building to building, I suddenly felt a clash of Mana. I looked over and saw that there were two groups of soldiers engaging in combat.

I smiled softly, I was excited.

"I'm fairly far away from the coliseum, so I think it'll be okay if I decide to use some spells."
