Chapter 27 - Chapter 27 - Assault On The Pencildragon Household [2]

A/N: Really had fun writing the last bit of this chapter I'm ngl. And I'm not gonna start writing the next chapter till at least Friday afternoon. I have two tests this week and there's also volleyball club. And because of that, I'm gonna be too tired to write and honestly, the things I listed take priority over chapters.

TLDR, me no start writing chap till Friday.

Valier POV:

The pencil slowly but surely got closer and closer to me, I tried to move but I was far too injured for that, the pressure weighing down on me along with how I was about to pass out from exhaustion didn't help. My Mana and Cursez Energy supplies were running low.

Just before the pencil reached my neck, the temperature around decreased substantially. The rain drops around us started freezing as a several air born spikes rushes towards the man's head. The spikes disintegrated as soon as they came to close to the man. I looked around to see that Irene, had a mangled arm extended out and aimed at the man. She had blood pouring down her head, her wounds were worse than mine. I could visibly see fragments of bone jutting out of her arm, it seemed like every movement she made seemed worse her wounds.

The man looked at her, she has successfully taken his attention away from me. I mustered all the will power I had and I forced myself to move, the pain was intense but it wasn't something I couldn't handle. What truly caused me difficulty was how worn out my muscles were.

But something as trivial as muscle exhaustion wouldn't be anywhere near enough to take me down. Channeling Mana throughout my body, I used 'Flash Step.' And within an instant I was able to get out of the man's range and I moved toward Irene and Iris. I looked at both of them, Iris was In an alright state, she seemed to be in better condition than Irene at the very least. While Iris only had minor wounds Irene's arm could barely even be called an arm at this point, her leg was also in bad shape but it was her arm that was in the worst shape. She was also hyperventilating, activating my 'Demonic Eyes.' I took a look at her. It was then that I noticed just how bad a state she was in. She had several shattered ribs along with some cranial fractures.

Frost gently started to form around her arm and her face, soon enough, her wounds started healing but even then... she wasn't going to be able to make it. I coldly gazed at her, I truly didn't know what to do.

Then, Iris started scrambling towards Irene. Iris extended her now dirty and wounded arm towards Irene. Then, water spouted from Iris' hand, there wasn't a lot of water but I could tell that Iris was using all the Mana she had to form and keep it's shape. The water then split into two, one part of it moved towards her head while the other towards her arm.

The rate of Irene's healing process increased. To an ordinary person, it'd look as if Iris was just healing Irene with her healing magic, but that wasn't the case. Although Iris was using healing magic to help Irene out, what was truly allowing the rate of healing Irene was expecting was Iris' speciality. Buffers were uncommon, I doubt that even she knew that she was a buffer.

I looked towards the man infront of us, I couldn't make out any of his facial features. But he was strong, below my original strength but even if I had my original strength I'd probably lose an arm. Well, that is if I didn't use my Unique Attribute.

Using the rather small amount of Cursed Energy I had been able to accumulate, I formed my sword. The man's eyes widened for an instant before they went back to normal. I watched as Irene's condition stabilised. Then, Iris made the water she had created float towards me. It entered my body and I felt its effects immediately. Although the boost in strength I received wasn't enough to bridge the gap between us, if I played my cards right I could probably hold them off for a while.

"Valier, I'm going to pour everything into keeping my buffs up. This is my first time buffing anyone, so I can't keep it up for long. But, you don't need to beat him. Hold him off for just a bit, Irene was able to send a distress call. So we'll receive reinforcements soon, so just survive."

I nodded my head and looked at the man, I said I'd be able to hold him off. But he was literally changing the weather with his presence alone. So, the only reason I'd be able to hold him off is because he plans on toying with us.

I crouched down and got into position as I got ready to use Primordial Flash. Then, I used flash step and propelled my body at speeds faster than light itself. I enhanced my body to its limits as I surrounded my blade in Mana, once I had gotten in range, I activated Primordial Flash and drew my sword out as fast as I possibly could. I aimed my sword at his neck, but before I could get close to his neck. He used his finger to stop my attack, there wasn't even so much as a crease on his finger.

But I didn't stop, I then enhanced my body even further and I started to use 'Demon's Breath.' I could feel my body collapsing on itself, Demon's Breath was a technique that couldn't be maintained for too long. But against an opponent who doesn't need to cast any spells to annihilate me, I can't go around holding back.

That's why, I'll use everything. I won't hold back.

I released my own pressure and bloodlust. Flocks of birds started flying away from our location, only to be struck down by the storms that were being caused by the man infront of me.

Narrator POV:

Valier suddenly let go of his sword and kicked it into the air, with the hand that was once holding his sword, he formed a pale black flame and drived it into the man's core. The man dodged and ended up a few meters away, the man bore a small smirk on his face. He seemed to want to toy with Valier.

As his sword descended upon the earth at rapid speeds, he swung his hand in arc infront of him as soon as the sword was just above his chest. Due to the sheer power his flames held, the sword was propelled at monstrous speeds towards the man. However the man closed his eyes and sighed, he raised his foot and struck it onto the ground, causing a huge blast of air to be released.

When the man opened his eyes, he noticed that Valier wasn't infront him. The only thing that could be seen was a very faint sparkle of black lightning along with some scorch marks on the ground.

The man immediately came to the conclusion that Valier had used Flames and Lightning to propel himself at speeds that he normally wouldn't be able to achieve.

Then, the man felt something behind him, before he could finish turning around, he felt a wave of heat nearing his neck. The man amped his physical enhancement and turned around with such speed and power that Valier was sent flying back.

Or that was what the man thought had happened. In truth the only thing that the man had sent back was a weapon that Valier had thrown after creating, this weapon wasn't as intricately designed or as properly fitted for Valier's body as his usual weapon. However, it resembled a blade enough to make the man think he was going to receive an attack. And on top of that, it had been coated in Mana to make sure the man didn't know there was something amiss.

All of these moves had been set up for one thing; an attack from above. Valier had used his black flames to launch himself into the air, and once he reached his maximum height, Valier deactivated all of his abilities save for his weapon creation and some minor enhancement. He did this to conserve as much energy as physically possible.

As soon as he started speeding back down to earth, he concealed his presence fully. Throughout this battle, not once had he concealed his presence. This was on purpose, it was to lead the man into a false sense of security. Although the man could easily have sensed Valier if he truly wanted to, he didn't bother. Valier was a prepubescent child after all, why on earth would a man of his calibre do something like bothering to sense his presence?

Just as Valier was about to crash right next to the man, he activated all of his enhancements. He used Demon's Breath, maximised his physical enhancement and he started flowing his black lightning throughout his body. And on top of that, Iris strengthened her buffing magic.

Whether it was out of sheer instinct or whether it was just a fluke; this strengthening of buffing magic allowed Valier to reach a level of speed and power that would at the very least be able to wound the man. The man also wasn't on guard, and once Valier had dissapeared he was in a state of confusion.

The alignment of all of these events finally created an opening for Valier to use Primordial Flash. He had worked out the best time to activate it via approximations of his speed and the height he was at. Meaning that as soon as he was within the range of the man, his body unsheathed his sword and it moved at a speed that was incomparably faster to any attack that he had performed in his time within this world.
