Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 - Assault On The Pencildragon Household [3]

Narrator POV:

While in the air Valier activated his Demonic Eyes to make sure he could hit the man where his enhancement was the weakest. As Valier's sword rushed at the man, he felt blood form at his nose and drip down onto his face. Throughout this battle, Valier's body had already broken it's limits. He should've fallen long ago, however through sheer will Valier had managed to keep going. His body was already nearing self destruction, so forcing his body to handle this battle even though his muscles were on the brink of melting, pushed his body past a wall that it wasn't ready to handle.

His blade slowed down and Valier watched in confusion as the man reached towards neck and started chocking him. Valier released his weapon creation to conserve energy, he amped his Physical Enhancement.

However, to counterract that, the man increased his own Physical Enhancement. The man brought his other hand, and suddenly a pale black flame spouted from his hand. Valier's eyes and face morphed to show a look of pure shock. To confirm his beliefs, he activated his 'Demonic Eyes.'

And that's when he saw it, Cursed Energy and Mana were flowing together to form a Cursed Flame of sorts. Valier started struggling even more. Those who received a wound from a person who could wield a Cursed Attribute would find that their wounds were rather difficult to heal.

"You're... not bad, not bad at all. I'll honour you by using Magic to kill you."

Before he finished Valier off, he suddenly seemed to recall the existences of Valier's siblings.

"But before that, I'll kill them."

He dashed towards Iris and Irene and within a fraction of a second, he was there. He brought his fist towards Iris' stomach and sent her flying.

He started to heal Irene's face and body, he proped her up so that she could witness the death of her sister. But before moving onto Iris, he shattered her limbs so that she was rendered imoble.

Each and every time one of her bones was shattered she screamed in agony. But not once did the hatred in her eyes dissapear. She tried to freeze the man several times, but his mere presence was able to turn her ice into steam.

"You know, I wanted to kill you and your sister first. But, I'm curious, how would the mighty Irene Pendragon look like when she sees the mangled corpses of her siblings?"

The man dissapeared from sight and within an instant, he brought back Iris while holding on to the back of her head. Her arms were both broken and she had blood pouring down her face. Valier watched in interested as the pale black flame once again formed around the man's hand, it travelled towards Iris's body and it started to burn away at her.

Valier could tell that this Cursed Attribute the man was wielding wasn't particularly strong. But despite that, the man had an absolute control of his flame, it was burning away at the skin around her arms and legs first. It seemed to be making sure not to go any further than that, or that's what his Demonic Eyes told him.

Something told Valier that although the man infront of him was powerful, the man likely wasn't even remotely close to a one of those 'things.' Those things that had moved beyond humanity itself and had become Demon's in the true sense of the word. Valier wanted to cry in joy that the Demon Blood they were fighting wasn't one of those monsters.

Valier watched in curiosity as Iris' body temperature rapidly increased. Before, she seemed to be trying her best to supress her screams but the gates broken loose. Steam occasionally rose from her body, they were likely her evaporated tears.

"LET GO- IT BURNS! AGHHH!"

Valier watched as her flesh began to melt, the fire made sure to leave things such as her nerves, vocal chords and other such necessary things needed to prolong her suffering. The man suddenly let go of her, as she fell, the man kicked her in the stomach. Valier watched as the shock rippled throughout her body and shattered at least 50 of her bones.

The man then dissapeared, and Iris' body crashed back down to earth at such speeds that her body began to burn up even faster. The man then extinguished his flame. Iris seemed to have an almost excited face, she seemed to believe that her time was finally going to come to and end

Then, the man grabbed her by the face and threw her onto the ground, the man placed his foot on her chest and shattered it. He then grabbed on to her arm, and tugged on it. Before long, he had torn her arm off and he threw it to the side. He repeated this process for her other arm. Then her left leg, and then her right leg.

She kept screaming in pain throughout this entire process, Valier and Irene were both unable to move. Valier was using this time to maximise his energy recovery while Irene was attempting to heal herself.

Iris was now completely burnt, limbless, blind and likely partially deaf. She had been trying to buff and heal herself throughout this, but it hadn't been of much use. But even with her shattered bones and burnt body, melted flesh and evaporated blood. She was still alive. The man has been healing her throughout this to extend her suffering.

"I'm bored of you now, I think I'll finish up your brother and move on."

The man crushed Iris' skull with one hand and burnt the rest of her body into oblivion. There was nothing left of whatever the man was holding, no smoke, no ashes, no soot, not even a drop of blood to indicate something has happened. The only biological remains of Iris that still existed were her limbs, but those only survived as they were not in contact with Iris' body.

Irene watched in horror as Iris met her end, she then watched the man approach her brother. The man picked up Valier's body by the back of his head and started smashing Valier's face onto the ground over and over. To the confusion of the man and Irene, Valier didn't make a single sound nor did he utter a single word. He didn't even flinch, the man checked if he was a live a few times. But Valier's vitals were still there.

Every so often, Valier would release his black flames to try and burn the man's hands and create an opening for him to get away. But the man's grip never loosened.

Valier enhanced his body to its very limits, he shielded the parts of his body which were more vulnerable with more Mana than parts of his body that he could survive without, like arms, legs etc. So, even when his bones shattered, when his ribs punctured his own flesh, when veins were punctured due to rocks implanting themselves into his body, when his skin was pulled off after getting caught in jagged rocks, when his skull occasionally fractured; he was able to stay alive.

The man watched in curiosity as Valier survived the torrent of abuse without so much as caring.

The man smiled, he was already impressed by how Valier nearly managed to actually land a blow on him. The attack would likely only have caused a paper cut, but it was still impressive.

"Not bad, not bad at all. Irene Pendragon, this is the kind of person that a noble should be. Earlier on he fought for you two, he nearly wounded me despite how pitifully weak he is. Even that sister of yours who I disintegrated a while back, she helped in this fight. She forced her body to buff and heal both you and your brother at the same time. Without her, your brother wouldn't be able to attack with such ferocity or power. Then there's you, while your younger siblings have pushed themselves past any human limits, you've been watching. Look at you, even now you're shivering in fear. Now then. I'm not sure what your name is you white haired weirdo, but It's time for your life to end."

The man made Valier face him, he brought a finger to each of Valier's eyes, and covered them in his Cursed Flame. Then, he shoved them into Valier's eyes, Valier's eyes were crushed instantly, the veins and nerves around his eyes began to evaporate as blood congealed and flesh burnt.

Due it not being a flame that relied on oxygen to exist, no soot or carbon monoxide was produced.

(A/N: Yes I mean monoxide, not dioxide. There wouldn't be enough oxygen in the body and incomplete combustion would take place. When anything burns it combines with oxygen, so carbon and oxygen usually combine to make CO2 but there's not enough oxygen in the body (as far as Google told me) to form CO2 so CO would be produced. But that's not really relevant at all, I just find it a cool thing that might be of interest to my fellow science ppl)

Valier's body was starting to become weaker by the second, he was running out of Mana. After only 30 more seconds of the burning, he had to use Cursed Energy instead to protect his body, this was to conserve Mana, he had a plan in mind but it'd require a monstrous amount of Mana. Surprisingly enough, this proved far more effective at halting the flames progress, or rather, the man was shocked that Valier could use Cursed Energy. When Valier used his Demonic Eyes, no real change could be felt by the man, especially when he wasn't placing any effort into sensing it.

"Strange, so you're one of my kind? You know, I'm feeling quite happy today, I got to kill the child of The Pendragon house, and I get to kill the Irene kid next. So I was thinking about letting you go, but then I remembered, that you're also the child of that 'thing.' That monster, I'll never let anyone related to him survive. So, even if you don't share the same mother as them, I'll have to kill you."

Just as the man was about to let his flame consume Valier's body like it did with Iris, an incomprehensible pressure descended upon the world.

The man silently muttered under his breath.

"What... is... that...?"

"It seems I'm a bit late, and I'm sorry about that. But from this point on, I won't let anyone die."
