Chapter 3 - i also dont know yet

chaper 1

I was a hero. They called me an other-worlder. They summoned me to defeat the Demon King.

So I did.

I trained and did quests through my system. The system shows me my mana, health points, my stat points, and skills. I got everything in the thousands, strength, agility, perception, stamina, and intelligence. I was unbeatable.

I had my comrades, some of my closest friends, Alethis the amazing archer, who could shoot a goblin in the eye from over 5 miles away. Medina, our trusted healer, she was the mom of the group, making sure we always ate healthy and were safe. Gredin the tank, his hand could cover my whole head and was from a clan of warriors. Icari, our mage, who could cast the highest level of spells soundlessly.

They were the only thing keeping me from falling into despair in this new world. Though after the Demon King was good and dead they turned their backs on me.

You see, the Demon King wasn't always a demon, he was an orphan from a poor village when the high-ranking officials from the kingdom took him and experimented on him, causing him to morph into what he was.

His jet black hair flowed in the air like a shadow, his blood-red eyes in a constant glare, his many horns atop his head all curving and twisting to look like a crown, and his wings, the wings of a long-dead race of dragons.

He was beautiful, when he was an untainted orphan and when he was the gloriously strong Demon King just trying to get revenge on the people who ruined his life.

I only know this because I found his journal, and I stupidly read it. I innocently confronted the kingdom about this. They took me and restricted my powers, they tortured me for days on end.

I think the worst part was when my old comrades joined in on it all.

They were laughing the whole time,

Alethis shot so many arrows at me that I looked like a porcupine.

Medina peeled away my skin leaving my nerves uncovered, she'd poke them, and each time she did a white-hot pain shot through my body.

Gredin tore off my limbs endlessly knowing they'd grow back with Medinas' help.

Icari tested his newest spells and magic items on me.

It hurt.

It hurt so much.

It hurt so, so much.

The best part, the part that makes me laugh every time is when the system asked me if I wanted to end my life but I couldn't press 'yes' because of the restraints.

Apparently, while I was locked up the kingdom made its citizens believe I had betrayed them. I know because my public execution was the next day.

I still remember standing there with my hands bound and a rope around my neck, they pulled the lever and I dangled. The noose was tied wrong. Instead of tying it the proper way to induce a hangman's fracture they made it slow.

So, so slow.

Then I finally died.

And that's how I got to where I am now, sitting in the same spot I was before being summoned 6 years ago, with the Demon King sitting next to me.

The Demon King still had his black hair and red eyes and wings and horns, but he was younger. As old as me I suppose, 14.

{Quest 'Return Home' completed!}

{Welcome back hero! Don't worry! Your skills and stats are not reduced!}

I stare at the system's pop-ups. "...Hero? Is that you?" I turn to look at the Demon King who's currently fighting back an amused grin. I nod in response, it seems my throat is still as dry as it was when I died.

I stand up and raspily say "Home. Follow." The Demon King gets a look of bewilderment but goes along. I hold his hand, it's so warm, and I haven't felt that feeling in so long but I hold it under the guise of not wanting him to get lost.

We stop in front of my house "Hide. Human." The Demon King seems to understand what I'm saying and hides his wings and horns. I open t
