After nearly two hours, Clarence could finally use the spell to the level where he could apply it in a real match. It might have been confusing to understand how he could know if the illusion is effective or not, but it's possible.
The user could see the illusion too but in a slightly transparent view which lets them differentiate between the real and the fake. This is also how Clarence understood earlier that he wasn't up to the par as his illusion kept flickering.
By the time he had learnt enough of the technique and the spell, he was tired both physically and mentally, so he sat down to meditate.
He visited his mindspace as he started meditating, there he saw the usual view of two orbs one big and one small floating in the pitch black darkness.
The larger one was spinning and mana continuously poured into it. Beside it, the smaller one was radiating its usual golden blue light and was half full.
The smaller orb which was half filled with the golden blue energy looked as beautiful as ever. If one looked carefully at the orb right now, the person might think there is some heavenly liquid in the orb.
At rank two, the mana when gathered into the orb takes the form of air and looks like how gaseous substances would look when compressed.
The golden blue energy on the other hand was so dense that when it gathered together, it almost looked like a liquid with steam coming off it. Adding in its color, it looked way too beautiful to pass on just as some normal thing.
The mana was colorless, everyone knew about this fact. But when one crosses rank five and steps into rank six, the color of the mana changes according to the path the person chose, but this energy here already had a beautiful golden blue color.
He exited his mindspace after a few more minutes of strolling around in there and opened his eyes. He could feel that a bit more meditation was needed in order to completely fill the mana core.
As for the golden blue energy, it would take too long, so he'd rather do some other thing after filling up his mana. After a few more minutes when he sensed that the mana core was full, he stretched his legs and laid down on the mattress in his tent.
He knew the only reason he was making such fast progress was because the system had been transferring the information directly to his brain or else it might've taken his entire time just to read and understand the techniques and spells in the written form.
He closed his eyes and laid back on his mattress to take a rest. Although he had already given his brain and body some rest by meditating, it was after all just another mild form of practicing. He needed a spiritual rest too.
After successfully convincing himself to take a rest despite his urge to give his best to win tomorrow's match, Clarence peacefully went to sleep.
After waking up after half an hour, Clarence stretched his body and sat up on his mattress. He felt fresh like never before, it was one of those times when you sleep for a little time in reality, but you felt like you slept for a truly long time.
It's rare indeed, you wake up feeling energetic and a light mind. Clarence felt fully in mood to continue his training, so he got up and did some warmup before starting the training for his second technique.
This one allowed him to instantly stop his body regardless of the inertia. Of course, it had his restrictions as well. The limit of inertia to which it can block was limited by the user's understanding of the technique and his or her rank, just like the majority of the technique and spells out there.
As he was inside his tent, a closed space, he decided to just use the technique on different body parts. After an hour or so of practice, he could successfully stop his arm and legs.
He then decided to go out since for this technique, he actually needed to run which will need a big space.
After walking for a few minutes, he arrived in front of the training grounds. There were multiple dome shaped huge arrays placed here to prevent the participant from prying eyes of the others.
The training was only made applicable when there were one hundred twenty-eight people remaining, so although big, the training ground as a whole wasn't that large.
Clarence just never used the training ground before as no matter what, he had never trusted whatever the other person said.
But this time he came to the training grounds as he had to, there was no other choice. He could have done it in the open, but that is just worse than the training grounds, the latter would at least block most of the attempts even if it allowed a few special ones to bypass.
He also guessed that the similar type of array he had in his spatial bracelet might be worse than the ones on the training ground, so he just came here.
Upon entering an empty one, he activated the array which made the entire dome change to an opaque color from the previous transparent one.
He channeled his mana through his body and ran at a moderate pace at first to test how his technique would hold up.
Clarence kept going at it for a few hours until he got the hang of it. Unfortunately the limit of this technique was a little lower, as he could only completely stop his body at a speed between his moderate and high speed. A little more and it doesn't work.
It was most likely because he had just started learning it, so he decided to spend more time on refining the technique. Clarence had almost half a day to spare, so he reasoned that it was alright for him to spend more time on this technique.
