Chapter 12 - Unexpected appearance of the Blaze Immortals

"What?" Aerracles whose attention was instantly captured by that shocking feat, said out loud with his brows deeply furrowed in wonder and puzzlement.

While Princess Ethena whose eyes were immediately pulled towards the sky due to the massive slit that had abruptly appeared in it, began to thoroughly think of what particular being or entity will descend anytime soon from the giant slit that was understood by her as an actual portal to this world.

As for the thousands of humans gathered at the trading ground, they had all scattered away like flies in fear of their lives. They had immediately comprehended that for such a large slit to surface in the sky in the blink of an eye, it simply meant the phenomenal descendence of a tyrannical and unimaginably powerful, otherworldly being who could reduce the entire thousands of them into mash or paste of blood, flesh and bone.

However, there were still a significant number of people at the trading ground who were looking up at the sky to see what being or creature will descend from there very soon. They wanted to catch sight of the marveling and astonishing, godly or ancient entity that will surface anytime from now and float down from the massive slit that was effortlessly caused to manifest in the sky so as to intentionally announce its unparalleled sovereignly presence to the people below. And included in these people that somewhat, fearlessly remained, were Sharon and her son Jake, who were looking up at the sky with totally astounded and revered expressions in their faces.

A second later, dozens of people dressed in majestic clothes and had beautiful glowy skins which made them seem like ravishing and alluring celestial beings, began to shoot out like actual comets from the vast and endless, pitch-black void revealed by the slit, to the blue sky above the trading ground. And once these people had taken up different positions at different areas of the sky, they actually looked down at Princess Ethena with impunity and strong contempt in their faces.

Immediately Princess Ethena saw these people and could understand who they actually were in the next instant, she quickly heightened her senses for the impending battle and began to seamlessly operate the flow of the unique but unimaginably catastrophic godlike powers that she possessed within her body. And, although she looked quite calm on the surface, she however wasn't that calm within, as both her heart and mind were roiling with worry, fear, hatred and anger.

'How did the Blaze Immortals from the Fire God Hall find me? How were they able to precisely pin-point my location? Where they actually keeping tabs on me? Ugh! This is bad for me.' She mumbled within herself with a deeply puzzled expression appearing in her face as she dead-stared at one particular older Immortal who gazed down at her from the sky with a scornful and contemptible look in his face.

"The most gifted Immortal who was prophesied to surpass all the venerable Lord Immortals overseeing the various Immortal Halls in ability and reach a height that no Immortal has ever reached, right?" That Immortal that Princess Ethena focused on, finally spoke with a clear hint of ridiculousness and mockery in his voice.

Then with a darkly grin appearing in his face, he said further, "Anyways, the prophesy might be true. But we the Blaze Immortals from the Fire God Hall wouldn't like to take such a chance. We will never tolerate the existence of anyone that will pose an imminent threat to the everlasting seat of power possessed by our Lord Immortal, Alcheus."

"So, without further ado, we are here to completely destroy you Princess Ethena, before you can climb to the rumored unattainable heights that you can reach and become an object of endless, tremendous worry for our Lord Hall Master, Alcheus and the other Lord Immortals who totally hate and despise your horrific existence. Haha."

Once that person who was named Kyrill said that, he said further, pointing a finger at Ethena, "Men, bring me the ashes of her corpse."

Swoosh!

Swoosh!

Swoosh!...

The moment that order was given, the other Immortals who floated in the air and patiently awaited instructions from their commander, Kyrill, instantly swooped down at inconceivable speeds towards Princess Ethena who at the moment, had developed a slightly dejected expression in her face. And this was because she had immediately realized that she had no friends around to help her out against the many Immortals shooting down like furious thunderbolts towards her.

However, she wasn't one to cowardly succumb to a type of battle where she will be basically overpowered by numbers without first fighting back and trying to take down as many adversaries as possible with her. But she also didn't want to die, as she still wanted to experience the world and the joyful, fulfilling sensations that will come along with it. Therefore, she was ready to give it her all in this battle and scale through no matter the condition or circumstances.

Besides, she knew the kind of power that she possessed. Although it hadn't reach a stage where she will be able to handle all the rather low-ranked Immortals shooting towards her at once, it was however special, extraordinary and bizarre that at a certain stage, it can effortlessly contend with the fused catastrophic powers of many Lord Immortals in an instant. It was because of this incomparably tyrannical uncanny power prophesied that she possessed that caused the numerous Lord Immortals from each of the Immortal Halls to absolutely not tolerate her imminent, sovereign-like existence in the future.

Therefore, because of her confidence in her skills and power had shot back up, and because she didn't want any of the common mortals below to be killed by the devastating shockwaves that will near-endlessly surface as a result of their impending, intense cataclysmic battles, Princess Ethena immediately shot up as a streak of white light towards them to face them.

Seeing what she had decided to do, Kyrill viciously laughed at her and asked in a rather mocking tone, "Determined to protect the useless mortals? What a weak-minded lady!"

...

Aerracles who was massively worried about anything devastating happening to Princess Ethena, since the Immortals that she wanted to face were pretty numerous in number for her to contend alone with, began to actually brainstorm of what to do. Then easily recalling how she selflessly helped him in their battle against the Demon House Master, Lord Oblivean weeks ago, despite their race's deep hatred and despise for one another, he decided to do something. But even if she didn't help him back then, he still wouldn't look with arms folded and offer no sort of assistance to her, as he had developed this strong romantic interest in her and wouldn't like or enjoy seeing her getting hurt by these sinister people of her race who are intensely and dangerously envious of the special attributes of her unique powers. And, although the battle didn't concern him in anyway as it was a battle between Immortals, but of course he was going to involve himself in it if he didn't like where the tide of the battle was moving or heading to.

However, since the battle just started, he waited behind to see how it will play out. He didn't want to just fly up and go face anyone of the Blaze Immortals when Princess Ethena could actually suppress them all and eliminate them.

One thing he understood about her, when he had interestingly read about her for the umpteenth time in a particular ancient record about high-profile Immortals, was that she was an excellently-skilled and supremely agile warrior, and was someone who was absolutely proficient in the use of her powers and abilities. So, just these attributes amongst many others, made her feared by her many powerful opponents and adversaries.

Therefore with that comprehension alone, Aerracles decided to watch the direction that the battle will head in from below before shooting up towards the sky to offer her any sort of assistance in the battle that actually, didn't concern him in any way.
