Chapter 23 - Killing the outlawed Immortals
At the moment, Ubre, Fyroki and three others were facing Aerracles. While the rest, being three in number, furiously battled Ethena with no power or skill sets spared. They used virtually every power and strength they had to battle Ethena who surprisingly showed no sign of being subdued or overwhelmed. She could actually hold her own against the three outcast Immortals that battled her all at once.
After exchanging deafening, sky-shaking punches with one another for sometime, Aerracles got hit by a fast surprise attack from behind, which then caused him to be catapulted backwards across the sky like an arrow that was fired off from a bow.
Seeing that he had been launched away, both Fyroki and Ubre quickly chased after him to quickly overpower him and then slay him. They felt that they had to do this noticing how immensely strong and superiorly fast he was, or if he got the upper hand in the battle, they would be the one to be slayed.
However, just when they would go after him, Aerracles suddenly regained his balance in the air and caused blood that looked like actual molten gold to erupt out of a particular crack that had appeared in the unbelievably tough flesh of his left palm and right palm.
Immediately the golden blood explosively erupted from those cracks in his palms with the cracks immediately sealing back, they instantly condensed and solidified into large golden sabers that possessed sharp blades that were many inches wide and actually hummed, giving the feeling that they possessed a frightening level of sharpness. Also, the large, gold-colored sabers glittered beautifully under the illumination of the sun, drawing all eyes towards it.
So, armed with two shiny sabers that possessed blades which were nine inches wide and many feet long, Aerracles bolted at an insane speed towards both Ubre and Fyroki who at the moment, were deeply astonished by what they just witnessed. The abrupt creation of those weapons from Aerracles's blood left them seriously awed. Besides, he had a beautiful blood, since it were golden. It was another really marveling thing to know, since possibly no other entity in the world has such blood coursing through their arteries and veins.
Previously, when Aerracles internally compelled his blood to ooze out of cracks that had suddenly surfaced at the center of his superhumanly tough palms, Ubre and Fyroki thought that he had somehow sustained great injury from the previous strike that he was rapidly and secretively dealt with by one of their counterparts. So, they became more excited and much more determined to take him down since he seemed like someone who the two of them were incapable of jointly taking down due to his greater physical strength and significantly higher flight speed.
However, when they saw the blood actually condense and shape into two lustrous sabers that Aerracles wielded in an expertly manner, showing his utmost proficiency in wielding deadly cutting and slashing weapons, they couldn't help but have a fast re-think of their decisions. So, very quickly, they swerved away from the path that Aerracles was bolting towards them from.
But they were too late in doing so, as Aerracles who had a greater flying speed than them, and had shot towards them just before they could come of out their previous deeply enthralled states, arrived in front of them with a cold murderous look in his face and simply used the large golden sabers that he wielded to entirely cut both of them from the waists into halves, resulting in the abrupt, fountain-like sprays of blood that formed a small bloody cloud in the sky.
As soon as he divided both of them into halves from the waist, the sabers that he wielded actually lost their forms and reverted back to golden blood, which then rapidly partitioned into five places that abruptly solidified again and then reshaped into five small golden daggers that instantly shot off at high speeds towards the other Immortals currently engaging Ethena in battle.
Swoosh!
Swoosh!
Swoosh!...
The daggers impaled them directly at their hearts and caused them to scream out in great pain and unbounded misery. Then they gave up the ghost in the next second and fell to different areas of the earth as corpses.
Ethena who had a really serious look in her face as she battled them, became boundlessly shocked when shiny golden daggers suddenly appeared from nowhere at high speeds and deeply impaled the Immortals in their chests, causing their instant deaths.
But after figuring out a moment later that it was Aerracles who had given her a hand in battle, she slowly calmed and then flew towards him.
When she arrived before him with a deeply curious look manifesting in her face, she asked, "How did you do that?"
Aerracles who tried to feign ignorance of what she just questioned him, asked with a perplexed expression surfacing in his face, "Huh? Do what?"
"I have never seen you wield any sort of weapon ever since your first battle with that Demon House Master, Oblivean. So, where did you summon those golden daggers from? I want to understand" Ethena asked, looking straight at Aerracles in the eye as she tried to ascertain something from only his eye expressions.
Actually, she understood something, which was that Xerpheus who she had read about in the illegal Angel Records that people from her Immortal Continent liberally got, could use his seemingly boundless golden blood that flowed within his body like an unbounded surging river and could emit unceasingly from his whole body in the form an aura to create or forge myriad forms of powerful and unbreakable weapons of incredibly small sizes to weapons the sizes of hills.
"Well, it's just one of the numerous fine abilities that I have." Aerracles answered.
He then spoke further, "I can use my blood to form all sorts of weapons which I can use unendingly in battle."
"I see. No wonder they nicknamed you the Angel of Infinite Blood Weapons." Ethena said with a smile in her face while Aerracles eyes shone brightly when he heard that.
Then before he could say anything, like ask her how she got to know about such a name that should be known only by Angels from the Angel World, Ethena questioned with a really serious look manifesting in her face, "So, Aerracles, you didn't deem me trustworthy enough to also introduce yourself as Xerpheus to me?"
Once she asked that, and seeing the fully serious expression that had appeared in her face, Aerracles answered after giving a rather deep sigh, "Well, I had no intention of mentioning that to you in the first place because the identity of Xerpheus is now invalid."
"I mean, ever since I left the Angel World, my world, to peacefully roam about in the vast World of Mortals and learn many new and exciting things other than warring constantly with other Angel tribes or races for things like materials or resources that will benefit my own people, I left everything about me behind and embraced a new beginning, a new identity. I was done with all the fighting and wanted out to find another meaningful purpose for myself."
"So, I was formerly Xerpheus Wolfheart. But now, I am Aerracles Wolfheart. I changed my name because I don't want to be reminded of my belligerent past. Although I am a Warring Angel, a top-class and elite one for that matter, and one that should always be excited and effortlessly aroused to engage in wars with others or simply wage wars upon them. But I earnestly got tired of the constant wars of bloodshed amongst my people and with other races and therefore developed this overwhelming feeling for an atmosphere that is tranquil and full of marvelous sights to see with the eyes."
"After becoming tired and severely choked of the kind of monotonous life that I lived back at my world, I resolutely decided to take my leave when no one would be suspecting. So, I traveled through the great and boundless pitch-black void for countless days to get here just so that no one from my tribe would be able to notice that I had gone and where to exactly."
"Besides, as someone that could be crowned Angel-King in my tribe after my father, I don't want all sorts of responsibilities lying on me. I want to be free. I want to have my own independently chosen path. Not my path chosen for me by some elders hungry for power." Aerracles said.
Huuuu!
He then inhaled and stated further as he looked warmly and lovingly at Ethena who only looked back at him with an inexplicable expression in her face, "Ethena, I am sorry I didn't tell you these all these while. I only chose to hold it back because I felt that there was no need in telling you. That it wouldn't hold any significant meaning to you. But I guess I was wrong. I am sorry."
