Konohagakure one of the 5 great villages being the one that is in the first place knowing itself as the strongest village, it was founded by uchiha madara and senju hashirama both being known as the most powerful ninjas of their generation and the following ones.
Konohagakure was known for being a village where everything was tranquility and happiness, but everywhere, no matter where you are, there will always be a shadow which contaminates the place, even if it is not shown, there will always be someone who can notice it.
This is where we find ourselves 4 years after the attack of the kyubi no yoko which was defeated by the fourth hokage, namikaze minato who locked him in his son uzumaki naruto.
Minato had told the third hokage to reveal naruto's jinchuriki status so that everyone would treat him like the hero he was by having the tailed beast locked up, hiruzen sarutobi knew it was idiotic to say naruto's status so he kept it hidden from the village but someone realized naruto's state so he spread the rumor throughout the village, already months after naruto was born the whole village knew that he was the jinchuriki of the kyubi but for them naruto was just the reincarnation of the kyubi for which the whole village hated him except the clans who knew what could happen if something bad happened to naruto.
And here we are 4 years after the defeat of the kyubi a 4 year old boy was running from an angry mob of civilians who were chasing him with torches, knives, stones and some other weapons brought by one or another ninja who had joined in the fox hunt as they had named.
With the Child, he was crying and running as fast as his little legs would give since he did not know why those people were chasing him and in an oversight he got into an alley that when he reached the end he would notice that there was no way out so he it scared a lot.
Villager 1: Oh, the demon has nowhere to escape, let's finish him off.
Villager 2: If we finish what he yondaime started.
Chunin: Let's finish him off before the sandaime comes.
Naruto: stop, I haven't hurt you and if so, forgive me.
He would say it very shaky and crying as he was scared.
Villager 1: shut up damn demon because of you my son is dead.
Villager 2: yes, because of you my wife died.
So they began to throw stones at the Child and began to hit him with punches or kicks, while others brought sticks and began to hit him with them.
ELSEWHERE
In a large tower in the center of the village.
Anmbu: Sandaime sama There is a mob beating Naruto in the village.
Sandaime: I see, let's go and bring an ambu squad.
He would say this to run out the window, the ambu would stay for a moment calling the squad to follow him who was the hokage's lrdwn.
When Hiruzen Sarutobi saw what they were doing to Naruto he got very angry and started to move when he saw all the ambus next to him.
Hiruzen gave them a wait signal and went down from the terrace where he was, when the villagers and ninjas who were beating Naruto saw him fall they got scared but then they heard the hokage speak.
Hiruzen: All of you for trying to kill a child are sentenced to death.
When the villagers and ninjas heard what the hokage said they got scared and then they only saw how the hokage made a sign and several ambus fell from the roofs.
Hiruzen: kill them.
All the ambus rushed out, drawing their swords, killing everyone who was in that alley, Hiruzen only approached and saw Naruto's body passed out and all beaten with many bruises and several cuts, so he took him in his arms and he was taken to the nearest hospital.
All the people who passed by outside the alley only heard how something was happening in the alley but when they saw the hokage come out with the demon in his arms, all injured, they smiled but the hokage said something that left all those who were there speechless.
Hiruzen: If any of you hurt Naruto again, you will be executed immediately.
And he left ay leaving all the villagers silent, only later they saw how some shadows began to come out of the alley so a ninja who was passing by came over to see what happened, then he ran out of the alley and started to tell everyone that there was only heaps of blood and charred bodies.
The villagers, hearing that, were scared because if they touched the demon now, it could be that they would be the next to be killed.
When hiruzen arrived at the hospital he asked a doctor to cure naruto and take care of him but one refused, making hiruzen kill him himself.
Hiruzen: Anyone else who wants to disobey my order.
All those who were in the hospital remained silent so hiruzen called another doctor who fearfully took Naruto and put him on a stretcher to start treating him.
