The monkeys gulped, sweating sliding down their foreheads and dripping into their agape mouths. Their eyes stiffly turned back slightly, they had to strain their eyes to catch a glimpse of that monster behind them whose voice still echoed in their brains, each time pounding more fiercely than the last at their hearts.
From the small view of the monster they had enabled for themselves, they vaguely saw him reduce in size while his large tail whirled left and right behind him.
"KEEE!"
His shrill scream felt like boiling lava gripping at their hearts, causing them to palpitate and run like savage dogs were chasing after them.
All it took was a moment of absolute rage and hate for Ferrin to get the wits to realize that his other, powerless monkey form didn't possess this stupid issue that had handicapped him in his seven-feet tall form.
Barring his ugly fangs, Ferrin leapt on all four and ran towards the monkeys.
The monkeys glanced at each other before each deciding to do their thing.
Two decided to duke it out and... one swiftly decided to flee.
Ferrin charged like a madman and used his tail to smack one heavily on its head like a bat, causing it to stumble left and right like it a drunkard before collapsing face-first onto the floor.
Even in his maddened form, Ferrin wanted to salute the monkey for its brilliant act but focused on the other nuisance first.
Letting out a threatening growl, Ferrin pounced at the other monkey, causing the latter to screech in protest and smack its paw heavily atop Ferrin's face.
Ferrin spat out the disgusting taste of the floor that invaded his mouth from the sudden contact and hurled his tail towards the monkey again, his tail coiled around the monkey's neck and dragged it towards him.
Seeing the last monkey making a run for it, Ferrin ignored the desire of torture that arose within him and directly punched a few holes in the monkey's skull with his beautifully stained claws.
He jumped towards the fleeing monkey, his eyes peeking at the one faking unconsciousness on the ground and grinned.
But seeing the monkey jump from the reeling, its tail rolling around it for leverage till its paws could reach the building's outer walls safely, Ferrin's adrenaline shot up. He let out a barbaric scream and jumped atop the reeling and peered down.
"KEK!!" The monkey, actually playing dead instead of unconscious, jumped to its feet and ran opposite to Ferrin, attracting his hate filled gaze in the process.
Ferrin gazed down at the monkey in contemplation, only to be... blow away.
The monkey's tail punctured through the glass window and grabbed whatever sturdy came in its view, then... it guided its feet to carefully stand on its feet with his face meeting Ferrin's. It gently planted its thumbs in its ears and started waving its other fingers back and forth, followed short by its tongue pushing out of its mouth.
"..." Veins bulged out of Ferrin's forehead as he gazed at the monkey's butt moving left in right.
Ferrin's lips parted as he gave the most beautiful smile he could muster and roared.
His tail rushed down and wrapped around the monkey's head. He gently pushed him up till its face came right in front of him and smacked its face heavily before taking hold of its head and hurling him down, where it wanted to go with his own two hands!
Just that... the transportation means were not to the monkey's liking. Hence, it complained slightly, "KEEEE!!"
It was best that the curses that Ferrin could understand clearly... remained with him alone due to the vulgarities being... very inappropriate for some people.
Ferrin gritted his teeth as he saw the monkey splattering atop the mess of human and monkey, looking at the remains of Paul... his heart throbbed thunderously, "KEEEEE!!"
His eyes darted back, to the one who was fleeing rapidly. Ferrin let out another roar and pounced on it. His gaze growing colder and colder.
His speed had zero hopes of matching up to the monkey who had already crossed half the distance, but his tail didn't sit idly. It rushed forward like a viper and entangled its prey.
Ferrin dragged back the monkey despite its best attempts of punching its claws in the ground and freeing itself.
As the monkey saw its death closing in and in, it gave up all resistance and cried aloud like an infant, its face more miserable than a butchered pig.
Ferrin blew heavily through his nose and clenched his fist tightly, the monkeys disgusting play not melting his heart in the least. The moment the monkey arrived in front of Ferrin, a loud pa stilled the air, silencing all screams.
But still, Ano, wrapped around in her own embrace, twitched every time to the rhythmic sound of pa and pa! Each time it echoed, her heart palpitated. Her face tensed up before relaxing but her closed eyes seem to be soothed by the sound, as a smile formed on her lips.
As the sound halted for an instance, her eyes opened up, no words came out of her stretched lips. Only her thoughts accompanied her longing gaze at the sky, 'Ficko... Ficko! Avenged! He avenged you! Hehe!'
Accompanying her chuckle, another pa reverberated throughout, causing her face to twitch before calming down.
Ferrin got up from the monkey's waist, his bloodshot eyes peeling off of the monkey and wandering to the other scums littering all around the roof. He spat atop the monkey's face, or what remained of it, his fist tightening yet again as blood kept dripping down from it.
Slowly, his body turned into a harmless fifteen year old's. His gaze swept past Aoci and Seilo and onto his mother, sleeping silently in the middle of this bloodbath.
He took slow and wobbly steps towards her and as his shadow crept atop her face, his feet stumbled and his face fell smacked straight on the cold and dry ground, not moving an inch.
Seilo's heart chilled down, her pupils thinned into slits as she immediately jumped to her feet and scrambled to his side.
She took a deep breath and gently shook his arm. He didn't respond. She shook him again, still nothing. Her heart tightened as she pushed his back to the ground, seeing the blood pouring down his forehead.
She gulped, her hand shakily travelled to his nose and her blood stained hand... felt something cold blow against them.
"Phew!" Seilo's legs limped up as she let out a sigh in relief.
"A-alive!?" Aoci's crawled to his side on all fours, staining herself in blood and what not.
Seilo sighed again and nodded, "Thankfully!"
"What do we do now?" Aoci stared around, seeing Ano hugged her knees, her eyes peeking in their direction, her face distorted, "Ficko and... and that man, that doctor... he died!"
"Everybody... has to die one day, eventually!" Seilo glanced in Aoci's direction before reverting her gaze to Ferrin.
"As for what we have to do? Of course, we will take both of them to safety and protect them until he wakes up." Seilo answered calmly, her eyes dull in thought.
Aoci's gaze trembled as she gazed at Seilo, "So... their dying is justified? No, no! They didn't just die! They were MURDERED!"
Seilo turned her deadpan face to Aoci, "We would've died too... if not for him!" Her finger pointed to the one next to her knees, "So, grip yourself together and lets take him inside!"
"Seilo... why? You weren't so... cruel!" Aoci's brows furrowed in confusion, her eyes wandering left and right on her friend's face.
"It's not just me, who's cruel... its us, all of us... who are not only cruel but also selfish!" Seilo replied calmly. Her composure causing Aoci to gulp.
Aoci silently stared before a chuckle escaped her lips, her eyes gazing up above, reminiscing something.
"Lets take him to safety!" Aoci nodded her head and walked towards Ano, seeing her look up to her, she crouched down, "Lets go, Ano!"
"Huh! Already!? Well, whatever!" Ano shrugged her shoulders and got up to her feet, rendering Aoci speechless. She gazed up at Ano, her eyes quivering slightly, letting out a chuckle she got and and rolled her arm around her shoulder.
"Pretty brave you are! I thought you would need some consoling!" Aoci chuckled again at her thoughts.
Ano laughed lightly and shook her head.
The trio worked together and took both Ferrin and Aria inside and did what they could to the injury on Ferrin's forehead. It wasn't very deep actually.
As they sat around in a circle to the two patients, Aoci suddenly looked out through the window and gazed at the dark night, the moon peered back, causing her to smile slightly.
"You're right, Seilo! Everybody is selfish!"
Seilo's eyes widened slightly, her gaze shifted to Aoci from Ferrin.
"You are selfish, Ano is selfish, Ficko is... was selfish and I am... selfish." A sigh escaped her lips.
"You know? When you wanted to just... do away with yourself? When you came to Ferrin, pleading him to kill you, for an instance, before he collapsed, I was happy!"
Ano's gaze directed settled towards Aoci.
"I thought after he killed you, he would kill me as well! And I'll be free, from this... body and from the pain but... he didn't.
"Then... you took the bat and swung it on your forehead, I didn't like it in reality!
"I frowned... I thought why should you die? Why should I let you die and let you be free from that pain?
"In reality, I knew I was a coward, I didn't had the guts to... kill myself like you. So instead, I saved you.
"Not of goodwill, but from selfish reasons. I thought that if I can't kill myself, I won't let you go either! I will keep you alive! And make you suffer along with me!" A chuckle escaped Aoci's lips. Her wobbly gaze glued to the gentle glow of the moon.
"And I did just that! I kept you alive and you! You, Ano, Ficko, seeing you all just withering in silence alongside me! That gave me the justification to keep on living, that if you couldn't kill yourself, why should I? No! Why would I? When you all didn't posses the shame to die!
"I will live as well! And live I did... hahaha! So... disgusting, no?" Aoci muffled her laughter behind her hands.
She wasn't looking for consoling words from Seilo or Ano, she didn't want to be a coward again. So she just laughed... and laughed until the tears welling in her eyes rushed back.
Ano kept looking at her for a while before she understood, 'It's not just you, Seilo! It's all of us! Ficko was too... I relied on Ficko, because I wanted someone to protect me, to console me, to pamper me! I was selfish like you! And she, and Ficko! She too... I bet she protected me because she just wanted to be... important in somebody's eyes and she succeeded as well, she became somebody... important to me.'
Despite knowing her words could've potentially stopped Aoci's sarcastic laughter, she didn't say them out aloud and instead, smiled, parting her lips. Giving way for something salty... to slide inside.
