Chapter 3 - First Contact

As I moved deeper into the cave following the direction of the slime, there was a dim glow at the end of the cavern, The huge presence I sensed earlier was coming from there, I am not sure if is safe or not but i can still sense that the slime is still in good condition.

After approaching the I light I realized it is a kind of semi transparent dome of peculiar energy,

scrutinizing the it I saw what seems to be like a western dragon, that is intimidating really now first was a slime now a dragon aren't i jumping levels too fast.

I checked on the slime and realized that there some spiritual fluctuations between it and the dragon did something happen to it, while analyzing the situation I sensed a spiritual fluctuation from the dragonic figure

(Another guest visiting what an unusual day)

A guest? well at least we could communicate, I half expected it be attacked directly and I don't favour my chances against a dragon right now, I try projecting my thoughts outward directly through the spiritual wave I sensed, hope it works since I don't know its language

(Can you read my thought like this? Exuse my intrusion.)

(Fuhaha, Don't mind Ay. In these 300 years, someone who could approach myself had not existed let alone two. As for you condensing a spiritual body from my power is truly peculiar, perhaps You could even lay your hands upon myself!)

This energy is coming from a dragon I hope it is not that rare in this world or I will not be able to leave this place.

(The energy around here is yours, Then I think I owe you favour without that energy I wouldn't have been able

to protect my ego from dispersing.

Is this energy rare here or it exists elsewhere I just came here a while ago and I am not aware where I am)

(hoho, There is no need for gratitude the energy is leaking from me naturally as for magic energies they exist as magicules every where in the atmosphere although they will not have this concentration, looks you are a foreigner, Did you come with little one here?)

(I was injured with little options so I just followed a soul here, I was in a bad shape so I couldn't interact with it at that time, can you talk with him?)

Suddenly I felt the spiritual connection between me and the dragon connect to the one I sense from the slime, this is a useful ability I should ask him to teach me.

(Hey little one we have another guest who came with you )

said the dragon introducing me to the slime.

(Ehhh, There is somebody else here with us?!!)

exclaimed the slime with a suprised tone, he needs to work on his perception if he has any.

(Hey there human turned slime I didn't have a way to talk to you earlier when I was recovering, you can call me Raiden)

(You can tell I was human, how did you know that)

I explained about how due to my condition I followed his soul to this place and hurriedly repaired what was remaining of my spiritual body with the energy in the surroundings, it was funny how he reacted to when he realized that our bodies a condensed from the dragon's magical energy and asking if the dragon was our parent, it was them that the dragon explianed to us about this world's monsters and how some reproduces while others are born from magical energy and the commentary went on for a while.

But the most important thing to learn from it was that apparently humans existed in this world, too. Then there were nonhumans, species very close to mankind in nature and similarly gifted with reproductive abilities. These included races like elves, hobbits, dwarves, and other fairy types, and generally they were allied with the humans.

Alongside that, you had races like goblins, orcs, lizardmen, and so on, which were hostile toward mankind and treated like monsters as a result. This animosity wasn't inherent to their biology, however, so crossbreeding was entirely possible.

Next were the "magic-born people"—the catchall term for those who came into being from magic itself, monsters who experienced sudden mutation, and sentient beings evolved from animals or magical beasts. They had both intelligence and reproductive ability, but only within their own subspecies. In their upper social castes existed titans, vampires, devils, and other longer-lived species—all equally capable of having offspring, although they rarely did so, since their overwhelming magic force caused them to be nigh immortal, obviating the need to leave descendants.

These diverse intelligent, reproducing species were hostile to mankind and collectively referred to as the "magic-born race." And reading between the lines, As I thought this world's theme is a fantasy one we human and monsters in conflict.

These sundry monsters had been classified by levels of danger. The upper ranks of the magic-born were packed with some pretty powerful buggers—all capable of leveling a human town solo if they felt like most likely some even reaching higher that a leve of captains is strength.

The dragon kept going for a while—about how he'd fought against the upper-level magic-born in the past and so on. Finally, the subject turned back to the slime.

(As I told you, then, I lack the ability to produce offspring. The reason is simple… Because I do not need to. I am of the dragon race—one of only four in the world, both unique and the most perfect of my kind. You will hereby know me as Veldora, the Storm Dragon! My life span is infinite, my flesh unfathomable! As long as my will remains intact, I shall be ever alive! Ahhhhh-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!)

And that's how my first contact went in this world with a slime and a dragon as conversational partners.
