Maria hated balls, with a burning passion. She always perceived them to be a useless event and some lame way to waste money, all the fancy outfits, slow music and standing around talking about politics always made her want to hurl. Unfortunately for her, she was going to have to get used to it. Because that morning when Emiliano walked into her room informing her of the annual ball that hosted the entire world's most powerful dons, gangs and criminal organizations was that night, and since she was his successor, it only made sense that she attends.
And the next year's ball.
