Chapter 14 - Deduction Skills

He was wearing a suit, which was a deep purple, and was smoking tobacco from a pipe. His neck had a gold chain around it, and he had some scars on the fingers of both his hands. The top button of his shirt was open, and his chest hair was quite bushy.

He had a few rings on his hands and placed his hands under his chin. His fat stomach made him unable to come to the front, but he still tried. Jack smiled and began his interrogation.

"It seems like you indulge in more 'stress' relief than you're supposed to, at your age and condition", he said with a smirk. He snapped his fingers and the two people who were standing outside came running inside, and he whispered something to them.

They left and the doors were locked from the front, and the man opened up a drawer and pulled out a silver pistol, and placed it right at Jack's head. The smirk never faded on his face and began to push his buttons more.

"And it seems like you are not used to faking anything, are you?", he said as he looked around and saw everything that was on the desk. The cup and the pen were on the left side, and the way paper was placed on the right.

But he was holding his gun with his left, and it was shaking, indicating that he had no prior training holding with his left. Meanwhile, his right was steady on the side, and Jack had the same smirk on his face.

"You're right-handed, and you tried to change everything to make it look like you're left-handed. Now, may I know why?", he raised his question. The man sighed out loud and plopped himself back down, rubbing a hand on his tummy.

"How did you guess it?", he asked. Jack didn't want to reveal everything, and hence he just said what needed to be said. He pointed to his hand, where his watch was in his right hand, and most of his rings were the same.

"A right-handed man would have had his watch on his left, and the rings on his left. While you changed everything around you, and yet missed that small vital detail", he smirked. The boss leaned back into his chair and smiled at him.

What Jack had failed to mention to him was that the drawer on his right side was what gave him away. The marks that were on the handle had a visible difference, showing that he used the right side more frequently than the left one. And thus, he arrived at his conclusion.

"Guess you are indeed right about that part. I am right-handed and just thought we could throw the cops off my tail by doing this. This has nothing to do with the murder in my club, I just didn't want any accusations on me", he exclaimed as he looked around.

Jack let out a sigh and got up, as he knew any more talking with him is useless. From just the crime scene that he had witnessed, he knew that this man didn't have the smarts to pull off a stunt like that. He sneakily placed his hand underneath the table as he left.

"Have a good day, and you may continue the 'session' with the lady", he said as he waved his hand at him without turning to look at him. He opened the door and saw the lady standing there, ogling him.

He pulled out his earphones from his pocket and began to listen keenly. The voice of the boss could be heard on the other end.

"Guess these little listening disks do come in handy", he thought as he looked at his phone, reading the text from The Cheif, and looked back at the door as he listened to the conversation.

"You two, find out who dared conduct a murder on our premises. This should have been done by one of the families, just to make me look bad. They hate that my business is booming these days. Now, leave!", bellowed the boss and the two guards came running out the door.

Jack watched the two of them carefully close the door behind them, leaving the lady inside with the boss. Jack had a slight suspicion, and he was wondering what the term families meant.

"I have to listen to this, and protect the target too?? Let me see, time to try and connect it to my network", he smirked as he began typing a bunch of commands onto his browser, opening up a command prompt.

He cracked his knuckles as he began to run a bunch of codes, and synchronized his network into the router network of the club. And right after that, he linked his device to the router and the router into his network, creating a chain that would allow him to move much more freely rather than lurking around in the club.

The woman's voice came from the earpiece he was wearing, and he listened intently.

"So, has everything been dealt with?', she asked in a powerful voice. Jack was confused by the question that was asked, and he decided to write it off. He thought she was asking that to make sure that she was alone.

"Yes, they have been dealt with. I've sent people to look for the person behind the murder. This is making my business look bad", he said in an angry tone. There was a bang as he slammed his hand onto the table.

"Come over here", he said in a commanding voice, and the sound of heels clicking was heard as the woman walked over to where he was, and the sounds of clothes ruffling were heard. Jack was imagining what would be happening, as that was a very important skill if he was to determine what was going on only by listening.

"Shall we continue from where we left off, Boss?", she said in a seductive voice, and he heard the sound of unbuckling. Right after which, he heard a loud thud.
