Blood?!
In a few seconds, Arnold was in Ciara's room before his brain could even process what just happened. He heard the sound of splashes of water coming from the direction of the washroom in her room.
"Ciara?!" Arnold asked audibly for her to hear him.
"Arnold, what are you doing here?" Ciara asked angrily. Arnold sighed, when he realized she was fine.
"Are you ok?" Arnold asked with a voice filled with concern.
"Yeah, i am" Ciara answered softly when she realized his voice was full of concern. "Is anything wrong?" She asked as she walked out of the bathroom in her bathrobe.
"Yeah, i saw blood on my sheets. I got scared to the core, when I saw it. I thought something happened to you when I left you in my room.
"It's no big deal, Arnold. I'm at that part of the month" she answered shyly.
"Uggghh!" Arnold sighed in relief. 'That explains why your mood is foul too' he thought.
"I'm so sorry. I will change the sheets and have the soiled one cleaned"
Arnold only nodded in approval.
"Alright, if it's nothing serious then I'd leave" Arnold announced and began to move towards the door. Before he could turn the knob to unlock the door, Ciara said;
"Thank you Arnold. For being there for me, for saving me and caring so much for me. I can never ask for more"
Arnold only smiled and nodded.
"The pleasure is mine" he responded and went out her room. He heaved a sigh of relief when he closed the door behind him. He honesty thought something was wrong with her.
"Is this the part where we get back to business?" Samuel asked, almost startling Arnold. "Startled?"
"Nearly. I didn't see you there" Arnold answered honestly.
They walked quietly to Arnold's room. After Samuel had closed the door behind him, he looked seriously at Arnold and broke the news;
"They're on the move now"
Arnold looked calmly at Samuel, without flinching as Samuel had expected.
"You knew?" Samuel asked suspiciously.
"The moment they arrived, I had expected them to be on the move" Arnold replied calmly and he settled on the desk in his room.
"So what are we going to do?" Samuel asked anticipatingly.
"Nothing for now" Arnold replied lazily.
"Hmmmm..." Samuel sighed and continued; " Khelan called you yesterday. Unfortunately, you missed her calls so she called me instead. She said Vanessa came down here with an aim;" Samuel paused and Arnold whose eyes were fixed on a document on his desk, raised his head to look at Samuel. "To find out what exactly happened fifteen years ago"
"Hmmm...!" Arnold sighed and relaxed. "I knew she could never let it slide. Have you contacted Raymond?"
"Yes, I scheduled an emergency meeting with him yesterday. We met. The meeting ended half past midnight"
"Was he good?" Arnold pried.
"He seemed distressed. I learnt Vanessa was going to pay him a visit today. That guy is dangerously in love with Vanessa that it sucks!" Samuel retorted and Arnold nodded.
"But luckily the feeling is mutual and they're not cheating on each other" Arnold said thoughtfully.
"what do you mean by that?" Samuel asked looking confused.
"How's your maiden? The one you're not going to touch until your honeymoon" Arnold asked wearing a knowing smirk.
"What's going on, Arnold?" Samuel asked with discomfort and displeasure written all over his features.
"And you think Raymond's the only one pitifully in love?"
"Arnold, just tell me!"
"Easy man.... You can't force me to tell you anything. You can only plead with me"
"Arnold, please"
"Let me think about it. Let's see, where should I start. You love her so much, don't you? Ophe....what? What's her name again?" Arnold asked teasingly.
"Ophelia" Samuel replied impatiently. "Stop messing with me, Arnold!"
"Yeah, Ophelia! I thought you said she was a virgin and you had promised not to touch her till you marry her. The woman i saw yesterday, on top of that guy wasn't inexperienced, Samuel. Your Ophelia isn't innocent like you think"
"Who was the guy?"
"And why does that matter?"
"I'll shred him into pieces" Samuel retorted angrily and Arnold burst into laughter.
"Samuel, you don't seize to amaze me." Arnold said as Samuel tried to dash out of the room.
"Samuel, don't." Arnold commanded calmly, and Samuel halted in his tracks. Samuel was never afraid of Arnold, but disobeying him was one thing he'd always avoided since he knew how gruesome the outcome of his disobedience would be. Samuel walked back and took a seat near Arnold.
"I thought you knew." Arnold searched Samuel's face for clues and found none. Samuel was absolutely clueless!
"What?"
