Fayan let out an animal-like grunt as his eyes fluttered open, the rays of sunlight seeping through the opened balcony had disturbed his sleep. He blinked a few times, adjusting his eyes to the light. Fayan was fully awake now but he lay on the bed, looking at the ceiling as he gathered his thoughts. He wasn't in his room, he noticed. He sat up, took in a deep breath, and massaged his eyes when he felt a stinging pain just above his left eye. He covered the area with his large palms, his memories from the night before becoming clear.
Fayan blinked a few times, looking around the room, he was the only one in the room. He hadn't noticed the sleeping princess beside him. Not that she was on the bed, if she was, he would've seen her immediately.
