Entering my room in a simple white tunic and trousers, I glanced at the two empty beds and figgered Cece wouldn't be home tonight. Resting the lamp by the window, a tinge of lament traced the edges of my lips as thoughts of Mother and Father trickled through my mind.
I sighed and stood bathed in moonlight. "Once I find Crowe, what will we do?"
"Piss on your worries. Have some fun for once in your life." Interrupted Lily, " My gods, you're a bore. Let's go rob someone! Or better yet, lets—"
"We're cultivating," I stated, trying to push her from my mind.
"Tsk. Fine but look in the mirror." She then said, "Your eyes. They're different. The Madness is spreading."
Taken back, I rushed for the mirror and stared at my left iris, swirling with an inferno of red. Spiraling flames coiled and clashed as though at war with one another. "What's happening to me?"
