Gieon's Pov.
We had been in the forest for hours, searching, despite that, there wasn't any sign of them.
I hear a growl by my side and, turning to look; I see Ethan had already shifted into his normal form.
He was angry, I could tell with the veins bulging out of his head, and by the way, his ocean blue eyes darkened as if a storm was on its way.
"You should have killed her that night!" His eyes narrowed and his teeth clenched together as the words slid out of his mouth.
"I wanted to, but he wouldn't let me, "I replied in defense of my actions.
"Then you should have informed me about what was going on and I would come to talk sense into him. "He replied with his voice loud and sounding breathless with rage.
"I thought I could handle it," I said, with irritation in my voice.
"I see." Slowly my irritation was unfolding into anger at him for being sarcastic with his words.
This wasn't entirely my fault. He also had a share of blame to carry too.
After all, it was his idea that led to all this.
If only he wasn't always acting so irrationally, none of this would have happened.
*Flashback*
Tired of looking through every space in the house, popping my head through every door after realizing that Jason had suddenly disappeared without a trace and also the witch girl is gone too, I thought of checking on the one place I knew I was most likely to find them.
I blame myself for leaving them alone. I never did trust that girl from the very time I saw her, but Jason seemed to be fascinated by her.
Ever since the night I had attacked her in the forest, I've noticed that he has been acting pretty strange and also very protective of her.
I don't know, but he seemed somewhat drawn to her, and the connection they both have grown within a short time really baffles me.
She was always calm and talked so freely whenever she was with him, but always appeared very tensed whenever I came into the room, never able to look me in the eye for long.
Swinging the main door open, I am met with a pair of ocean blue eyes, the corners of his lips curling up into a warm smile as he opened his mouth to speak.
"Hello, Gieon." His deep baritone voice rang in my ears as he greeted me.
Ethan, Jason's father, was the only one aside from me who could come through the barrier I made in the forest. Though I still haven't discovered how Aurora could pass through, I was hoping to find out.
Shocked by his sudden appearance after five years of leaving without ever coming back and the anxiety I felt from wanting to find Jason before things go badly, only made It hard for me to put on a welcoming face.
"Are you okay?" He asks, his brows marrying together as I move to a side, creating enough space so he could come in and I shut the door afterward.
Licking my lips, I wondered where to begin with and how Ethan would react to the news, but I had no other choice than to tell him.
A couple of minutes later, the aura of calmness he had brought with him had changed. He kept clenching and unclenching his fingers as I watched his muscles go tense.
"Since you know where they might be, here's what we are going to do…..."
*Flashback Ends*
Yes, I thought Aurora was a threat to Jason and her quick rapport with him had triggered the suspiciousness in me more, but I was never to support Ethan's idea of hijacking her from him. And after listening to her conversation with Jason, I somehow found sincerity in all that she said.
I saw how he stared at her as she explained her story to him. It reminded me of a feeling that I had to bury in the depths of my heart. That gentle feeling of calmness, fondness, and tenderness.
Right there I thought about the idea of putting an end to Ethan's plan of him taking on Jason, so I could get my hands on Aurora and do what he want me to do to her but another thought of how impossible it was to get him to change his mind crossed me.
One thing I agree with Jason was his father's stubbornness and the irrational behaviors that came with it.
Going against him at that moment would only mean him adding me to the collateral damage his plan would cause.
I mean, he was ready to give his son a few bruises just in his crazy quest to protect him from this young witch that I'm thinking might not be a threat.
So I push ahead with his plan, acting as if I would actually attack Jason since he had refused to give Aurora up, then when he and his father are busy clawing each other, I would instead take her to a safe place till I'm able to cool down the heat around.
I see Ethan shift into his wolf so quickly, Jason pulling Aurora into his hold, and just before Ethan could get his paws on them, Jason decides to teleport himself and Aurora to God knows where.
I wasn't expecting that to happen and I'm guessing his father must have been so shocked too, not expecting that he would make use of his powers as a seeker. Yet I'm pleased he could think fast and reasonable escape instead of putting up a fight with his father.
But now, after searching through the forest for them for some hours, the tension building between Ethan and me, makes me worried sick.
I'm worried about what Jason's next line of action would be.
Would he reveal his true identity to her?
Would he elope with Aurora to Kimoptra after all that she had told him?
I mean, he had always wanted adventures...
oh! I've failed Elaine...
