"What!" Felix half screamed. He regretted it later when he remembered Holly was sleeping.
"I...came inside." He said doubtfully. He shouldn't have explained this to Cass.
Cass's eyes widened. Felix really did knotting. He wasn't her King anymore; in front of her, he was just a stupid friend who knew nothing about love and sex.
"You are foolish! How could you do that? Do you understand what you just did?"
Felix frowned and did not accept Cass's satire, but deep down in his heart, he agreed.
"She immortal. She can't get pregnant. Don't worry."
Cass folded her arms across her chest. She couldn't stop thinking about her King who could have sex in this place. This palace had not been cleaned, and they were still very busy downstairs.
Cass rolled her eyes. "I'm telling you because you're too stupid about sex. First, she is the first human to become immortal like us. We never know what will happen!"
Felix was sure that would not happen. Just like other immortal beings, if she was pregnant, her fetus would not be able to develop. He was still calm with it.
"Second, you do understand the meaning of knotting, right?"
"Of course!" Felix raised his voice.
"You really intend to die with her?"
Felix was silent. "Mate?" he asked in a low voice.
For good grief! He just remembered! Did knotting mean they were mating now. It was more sacred than the marriage bond. They have become a couple, and Felix did it with a human!
Cass slapped her forehead. "Oh, please! This is why sex education is important! How can someone as stupid as you be my friend?"
Felix gulped as he looked at Holly. She was still sleeping peacefully, unaware of the chaos that was going on.
There was nothing wrong with being the mate of a human, right? Holly was an intelligent and kind woman. She could be a worthy match for Felix.
But how did Felix tell her?
***
Holly woke up because of a warm feeling all over her body. She gasped when she realized she was in the bath. Three maids were bathing her.
"His Majesty told us to clean your body, Your Majesty." Adda was there too, standing a little further away watching.
Holly blushed at the memory. She still remembered how Felix touched every inch of her body. Red marks were still visible all over her skin. Adda and the three maids must have noticed. Very embarrassing.
After bathing, they helped Holly get dressed. This time, the dress she wore looked brighter and more luxurious, just like a queen's dress.
"I'm really a Queen now," Holly muttered in front of the mirror as the maid styled her hair.
"You always be our Queen, Your Majesty," answered one of the maids. She looked younger than Holly but had a genuine smile.
"What is your name?"
"My name is Frada."
"I never saw you in the castle."
Frada bowed respectfully. Holly really liked her polite and gentle demeanour. "I was recalled after The King captured the palace yesterday."
"Yesterday?"
Holly glanced at the window. She just realized if the sun looked bright. She had been asleep for a day, and the day had changed. She must be exhausted.
Holly also noticed this room. This room was more extensive and more luxurious. Three times bigger than her room in the castle.
This must be the Queen's room. So they really live in the palace?
Wait... Holly just understood. Didn't this mean she would be Queen of this kingdom? For humans and werewolves?
"The preparations are complete. This palace has been completely taken over by us." Adda answered Holly's confusion.
"What about the humans?"
"Remain untouched. His Majesty will create a special area for werewolves, and they will live like humans. Then no one will know where we are."
"So you guys have to pretend to be human?" Somehow Holly felt sad. It must be difficult for them to hide their true identity.
"His Majesty will announce the death of that human King today. He will appear before humans. You will be introduced soon. You better be prepared, Your Majesty."
Holly now knew what Felix was up to. He just claimed to be the second prince and ascended the throne to replace the King, who was thought to be dead.
That was a smart decision. Holly thought Felix would slaughter all humans. Although that way was definitely easier. It seemed he didn't want to provoke a commotion as long as this curse still existed.
Holly stared at the table, the white rose lay there. Felix must have left it there. Luckily Felix took the flower before Holly was kidnapped, so the humans didn't take it.
She almost forgot about that cursed thing. She still couldn't find a way to destroy it. Holly became curious how a flower that looked fragile could curse Felix.
Holly shook her head. This was not the time to think about that. She just had to find a way to destroy it.
Holly looked back at herself in the mirror. Frada decorated her hair with a diamond crown. The crown was different from the one Holly wore at the coronation.
"What is this crown, Frada? Why am I wearing it?" So far, Holly has never been crowned.
"Diadem of The Moon, Your Majesty. You can wear it now that you are officially our Luna."
Holly had heard that she was both Queen and goddess. But why only now has she been crowned?
"I never used this crown in the castle. Did you guys leave it in the palace?"
Frada shook her head politely. "No, Your Majesty. We give it now that you are officially the mate of our King."
"Mate?" Holly was confused. She knew what the word mate meant but was unsure if her understanding was the same as theirs.
"Yes. You are officially a couple."
Holly didn't understand. King and Queen being a couple was a natural thing.
"It means we can't be separated except by death." A voice at the door made Holly turn around. Felix stood there with a face that Holly couldn't understand. Either nervous or angry.
"In our case, we couldn't die. So, we won't be separated by anything, even if you wanted to."
