Holly stammered. "But you look-"
"Werewolves, to be more precise. We are neither humans nor animals."
Adda stood up. She took a few steps back while Holly was still rooted to her spot. Within seconds, Adda's body suddenly changed. The elegant and beautiful woman disappeared, turning into a brown-haired wolf. The dress she was wearing was torn and fell to the floor.
Holly's mouth opened. She held her breath, and no words could come out. She wasn't hallucinating. They actually turned into wolves. Holly's body was shaking. She had never seen anything like this. But her fear was not as great as when she saw the black wolf earlier. Maybe because Adda seemed softer and less intimidating.
"We used to be the rulers of this land. Humans worked as our slaves. But after our King was cursed, we were chained to his cursed. We became immortal." Adda explained while walking around Holly's room. Meanwhile, Holly still couldn't say anything.
"I rarely change like this. I hate ruining my dress." Adda grumbled, seeing her favourite dress broken.
Holly was speechless. Her throat tightened, and she couldn't say anything.
"I can't go back to my body in front of you, My Lady. Because I'll be naked. So please excuse me."
Adda finally came out of the room, leaving Holly shocked by what she had just witnessed.
Not long after, Holly's door opened again. This time it wasn't Adda but a woman about Holly's age. Her eyes were bright blue with wavy brown hair, making her appearance look very beautiful.
Holly was still silent in her place as that woman bowed to her. "Excuse me, Miss Reloux. Adda told me to take you to your room."
"This is my room."
The woman smiled widely. "Not anymore. Let me take you."
Holly complied only because this woman seemed so lovely and friendly. Although there was none Holly could trust at the moment. Oh, don't forget the nice-looking Adda just turned into a wolf.
"My name is Cassandra Lossey. But you can call me Cass. I've heard everything from Hugo. You managed to wake Felix!" the woman said in a cheerful voice as they climbed the stairs.
"Felix? Is that your King's name?"
Cass nodded enthusiastically. She was a woman who was full of smiles and carried positive energy. Just a minute with her, Holly's mood had improved.
Cass led her to a room on the third floor, right next to the sleeping wolf's room. The room was ten times larger than Holly's previous room. A king-size bed sat in the middle of the room, surrounded by luxurious furniture that makes this room look so expensive.
Cass didn't stop there. She gave Holly a new dress that looked shimmering and beautiful. Even though she was a duke's daughter, Holly had never worn a dress this beautiful before.
"This is my dress. I'll order a new dress for you tomorrow. But tonight, you have to look beautiful in front of them," said Cass as she smoothed the dress that Holly had put on perfectly.
They? Holly hadn't had time to ask who 'they' meant when she heard a loud cheer from downstairs.
"Oops! They're here!"
Cass pulled Holly out and escorted her in a hurry to the ballroom. Holly's eyes widened to see so many people had gathered in the ballroom. Everyone instantly noticed her. But Cass still pulled Holly towards the centre of the room, where Felix was standing.
"I bring your girl," Cass said, waving at Felix.
Holly was amazed at how Cass looked so comfortable with Felix. She was not like those people here who seemed to respect him. Cass talked to him like a friend. Just with that, Holly could conclude that Cass was not from a commoner class.
Felix glanced at Cass sharply, then looked at Holly.
Holly shivered. His gaze was sharper than ever. Cass made Holly stand beside Felix before she could protest.
Every eye on her. She took a glace on them. They looked like warriors with sturdy bodies and scars on their faces. There was not the slightest bit of friendliness on their faces. Holly looked away, tried to distract herself from those people.
"It's okay. Don't worry," Cass whispered.
Cass was still with Holly, standing beside her and holding Holly's hand tightly. If Cass hadn't been there, Holly would have run away in fear from the hundreds of people in this room.
"I have good news for you!" Felix shouted into the crowd. Everyone instantly fell silent with their eyes fixed on Holly.
Felix looked at Holly for a moment, and then he sighed. "This woman will be your new Queen!" Felix shouted.
Everyone was wide-eyed, including Holly. The whispers got louder and louder. People started talking with each other.
"No objections!" Felix said firmly until the talking stopped. The room was silent for a moment.
But no! Holly couldn't take it for granted. Who was this man so casually calling her the Queen! That will be treason for The King of Grisia. Holly didn't want to end up like her father. She could be executed as a traitor if the royal heard it. Moreover, Felix was the Beast she always afraid of.
"No! I don't want to be a Queen!" Holly shouted loudly.
Felix sighed again as he knew Holly would reject his idea. "Only a Luna can break the curse."
"I don't know who Luna is. But my name is Holly Reloux. And I don't want to be your Queen!"
"You already did."
Felix took his dagger. With one move, he stabbed Holly in the chest. Everyone was shocked and speechless without understanding what their King was doing. A few moments ago, Felix announced that Holly would be their Queen, but now Felix killed her instead.
Holly held her bloody chest. It hurt so much that she couldn't breathe. Her legs gave up, and she fell to the floor. With a blurry vision, Holly saw Felix still standing beside her. He looked at Holly expressionlessly.
Before she lost consciousness, Holly heard Felix said with his stoic face, "Congratulations, My Queen. Now you're the first immortal human."
