Chapter 8 - Little Fierce Cub

Ryle moved towards the emergency room where the girl was transferred with urgency in his footsteps.

On the way from the terrace to the medical unit, he got time to process what was going on and now his mind was a bit clear.

The Omega who went to deliver the news and Sophie were running behind him.

In the emergency room, the situation was turning more and more chaotic behind the closed door.

Things such as medicines, water jugs, pillows, sheets etc were thrown randomly around. The glass vas and medicine bottles were shattered on the ground with broken glasses scattered all over the floor.

Doctor Murray was standing a few steps away from the girl trying to stabilize the girl's condition and talk to her.

A small figure has curled up in the corner. Her whole body was shaking like a dry leaf in the wind.

In one of her hands was a surgical knife that she kept pointing at the doctor.

Two nurses were standing inside away from the girl were trying not to make any noises that could frighten the girl more than she was already

"Little girl, listen to me," Dr Murray was trying to talk to the girl but she was not listening at all.

When Murray walked two steps in her direction and tried to put his hand on her head to console her, the girl snapped and bared her sharp teeth at him.

Her long silver hair was falling on her forehead and her chromatic eyes glared at the man whom she deemed as a threat.

One blue and one black. One is icy cold while the other is deep dark.

The little cub was fierce.

Dr Murray thought to himself.

"Calm down, we won't hurt you," the doctor said and the girl waved her claws at him in defence. The girl was extremely faster than Dr had expected.

Murry tried to avoid the knife in her hand but unfortunately, he neglected her bare hands.

Her paw made contact with the doctor's face and four red lines spread on Dr Murray's face till neck.

She scratched his face so badly, her nails dugged in the old doctor's cheeks and she growled loudly like an injured wolf.

Blood trickled down from his face.

The doctor moved back immediately with widened eyes. The nurses standing behind gasped in horror.

That was the scene that Ryle witnessed when he pushed open the door of the emergency room.

His eyes widened when he saw the doctor's injured face.

"What happened?" He asked. Seeing their Alpha, all the nurses moved away and made way for him.

"Never expected her to be so wild," the doc said. He took out a handkerchief from his pocket and pressed it on the wounds.

Ryle looked at the wound on Murray's face and then stepped towards the girl who was busy baring her teeth at the doctor.

When Ryle walked toward her a strong scent of the alcohol spread around the room.

His presence gained her attention.

She turned her gaze at the man standing not far away from her.

Ryle's eyes fell on hers which were half-hidden behind her silver locks.

Their eyes met and the girl's expressions froze.

She tilted her head at forty-five degrees, almost scaring the hell out of the nurses standing behind her.

At that moment she didn't look any less than a ghost.

The little girl stared at Ryle for a whole minute. Suddenly all the growling stopped when she just shrank in the corner more.

Ryle took a step towards her and saw her body start to tremble.

"It's okay…" Ryle said, trying hard to keep his voice steady. He already had too much alcohol and the last bottle he had was the strongest. And now it was showing its effect.

His eyes were unfocused a bit.

Ryle shook his head hard to clear his head. He took a small step in her detection and sat down three steps away from her.

Ryle was still processing what might have happened there.

The girl was still curled up in the corner but her eyes were looking at Ryle without blinking.

Her body was still shivering and her lips parted, breathing in and out heavily.

"Y-you are safe h-here," Ryle said in a barely audible voice. It could have been more effective if not for the hoarseness of his voice because of all the drinking.

When he saw her not reacting at all he slipped closer to her but the girl again snapped and let out a low warning cry.

She saw his extended hand frozen in the mid-air. She was frightened, in a place that she couldn't recognise.

She didn't know who the people around her were, which was making her head explode with the warning bells.

but among those all the unfamiliar and frightening atmosphere there was something that she found familiar that was Ryle's amber eyes.

Something that she had seen before she lost consciousness.

The little wolf inside her was telling her to trust those eyes and was now feeling a bit more secure.

Ryle took back his hand and s

I just sat there without any words and just kept observing the girl.

Messy hair, skinny body and red patches on the white hospital gown. When he looked carefully he saw the blood trickling down from her hand where there was a small puncture on her skin.

He guessed that it must be from the injection.

Murry must have tried to give her a sleeping injection to calm her down but the girl didn't cooperate and in the process punctured her vein which was bleeding.

Watching her bleeding like that Ryle didn't feel good but there was no way he could do anything.
