Thud! Thud! Thud!
"Alpha Ryle…. Alpha…." Someone started to bang the tarrese door.
Outside, on the terrace.
Ryle furrowed his eyebrows but didn't attempt to open the door.
Just like his inner wolf he wanted to shut down himself. Shut every feeling and emotion.
But the person standing outside had different plans.
"Alpha…. Alpha, are you okay?" Outside the door was standing, a low level Omega, who was working in the medical unit. He was sent here to call Ryle since the girl had opened her eyes.
He went to pack house and ask around when a maid said that she saw Ryle going towards the terrace.
From the past few days instead of his bedroom the terrace has became Ryle's place to get drunk and sleep.
The Omega hit the door again but no reply.
Suddenly a female voice called the Omega from behind.
"What happened?" The man standing outside the door looked back to see Sophie standing behind him.
He sighed in relief and seeing the woman.
"Alpha isn't opening the door," the man pointed his finger in the direction of the closed door with worry on his face. Like every night Ryle has again locked himself on the terrace and will only open the door in the morning.
Sophie pursed her lips seeing that.
Even her usual face has been dulled from the moment they lost their Luna.
She could understand what Ryle may be feeling now.
"What's the emergency?" She asked the Omega.
"The girl alpha admitted in the medical unit is awake now. Dr Murray sent me to inform him as soon as possible," he informed.
Silver of fear passed through his eyes when he mentioned the girl.
"She is awake?" Sophie furrowed her eyebrows.
She thought for a bit and then looked at the closed door.
"No need to bother him. I'll come with you," Sophie said. The man was going through a lot. He needed to have some time alone.
He needs to process the pain as soon as possible. If not, it might become a thorn in his heart.
But the Omega shook his head, "Dr. Murray said it had to be Alpha. The girl is in pretty bad condition," the man said with creased eyebrows.
Why would Murray especially want Ryle to be there?
Especially now when Ryle needs to spend some time away from other worries of the pack.
'Murry must have his reasons,' Sophie's wolf spoke Inside her head.
Sophie thought for a bit before she took out the spare key and opened the door.
As soon as the door was opened a strong smell of alcohol entered their nostril with a cold gust of wind.
Sophie's wolf grumbled Inside her head. Sophie ignored her irritated wolf and walked in.
She turned her head around and found the man laying on the cold terres floor.
Both of them walked towards him hurriedly.
Tnnn!
The Omega, in hurry, knocked the empty bottle laying on the ground which made sounds. The man looked down and gasped looking at so many empty and some full and half filled bottles.
Sophie squatted down beside Ryle and shook his shoulder.
"Alpha Ryle…. Alpha Ryle woke up," she patted his cheeks. He didn't react and Sophie tried again.
"L-leave me alone...," the man could barely open his eyes. His voice has turned slurry from excessive alcohol.
"Alpha….open your eyes," Sophie hit on his cheeks harder making the boy groan in irritation.
She hates the smell of alcohol, no not her but her wolf. Any type of heavy smell or scent makes her wolf irritated and grumpy. It was even hard for her to breathe around such a strong scent for long.
She has to get over it soon.
Sophie looked around and found a can of soda among the alcohol bottles.
Plop!
She opened the soda can and poured the liquid on the man's face. The cold burning sensation made Ryle growled loudly. He covered his face and sat up.
"What the hell," the man cursed loudly.
"Dr Murray is looking for you," Sophie readied another soda can, just in case. Ryle looked up and saw a blurry figure of Sophie. Behind her was standing someone whom he couldn't recognise.
His eyes had turned red.
With messy hair he looked frightening.
"W-why what happened?" Ryle could barely open his eyes.
"The girl you admitted under Murray is awake. Come on, she is in some serious condition," Sophie said.
Ryle's head took a few minutes to process everything.
He tried to think carefully. Half of his mind was blank. His wolf has shut itself down completely. The grief of his mother's death has shaken him from inside.
Ryle stared at the dark sky without blinking. It took him some time to understand what was going on.
"W-we have to hurry," the Omega who was standing behind said in a shivering voice.
Ryle turned his bloodshot eyes at the man and the Omega's fear intensified.
"Come on, we have to go," Sophie held Ryle by his arms and pulled him up.
