The Ceremony was tomorrow evening, or well, it would begin tomorrow evening, at least. It was only one day away now. And Layla's nerves were in complete disarray. She had woken up that morning, the first morning that she was back in her pack, and sensed that everything in her life was now on a different path.
She wasn't sure if she always meant to end up here, but she knew that this was now where she was.
She wanted to speak to her mother, after all, Azalea had gone through this exact thing before. But she also knew at the same time that it was entirely pointless to do that. Her mother had wanted this life, her mother had been nothing but excited on the last day before her own mating ceremony had to begin.
Her mother would be no help now. And Layla knew that it didn't truly matter.
Whether she was prepared for it or not, her ceremony was going to happen, she would just have to deal with it.
