When Layla woke up, she found herself alone in Henry's room. His side of the bed had already gone cold. She quickly got out of bed and made her way to the kitchen, where she smelled breakfast already cooked.
Henry was there, but Layla was a little surprised when she saw him. He was wearing a full three-piece suit. She hadn't seen him dressed like that before. She had to admit that he looked handsome!
"Wow," Layla said, greeting him. "You're dressed nicely. What's the occasion?"
Henry didn't smile. He barely even glanced at her. "Work," he simply answered, his tone flat and straight.
Layla was taken aback for a minute. This wasn't the wolf that had curled up against last night. He was colder. He wasn't even answering her properly. She knew that Something was wrong.
She wondered if Auburn had staged another attack last night when they'd gotten home. Had he attacked another building when he couldn't get a hold of them again?
