Susan excused herself and left the Queen's lady-in-waiting office.
She shut the door gently, as if it were made of porcelain. Leaving the temperamental and bizarre Lady Weber behind the door, she gave out a relieved sigh.
the air in the corridor was cold, just like the entire palace,
All the white stone walls, the bright stained glass windows, and the guards in the distance with their shining armor. Everything was as cold as the palace itself, cold to the bone.
The excitement of entering a palace was gone. Now she missed home, Eila, and even Shadow.
"Susan, Susan, here!"
Someone called her name in the distance.
Susan turned, and at the corner of the corridor, she saw a pale yellow figure poking her head in the air and waving at her.
It was Lily. She looked as if something important had happened to her. Susan turned and trotted over to Lily.
