"What happened?" The man spoke coldly, his voice as icy as his gaze.
Susan glanced back. The group of seamstresses who had made a mess before had quickly re-stood in order as if nothing had happened. She sighed inwardly and shook her head, "It's Nothing. I just dropped the paperwork by accident."
"Making a ruckus outside the palace gates should be punishable by imprisonment." The man snorted coldly. "Are you sure nothing happened?"
The seamstresses buried their heads in fear, not even daring to glance at Susan.
Susan shook her head firmly. "Nothing happened. I just dropped something by accident."
The man coldly surveyed the group of seamstresses. But the silence was like something to make it hard to take a breath.
Susan lowered her eyes, not daring to say more, only hoping that the man would return the paperwork to her, so she could continue to go to the queue.
Then, she heard the man ask again, "Are you here to apply for the court seamstress?"
