Lady Denman told the maid outside to take Susan away. Susan then remembered that Lady Denman hadn't even read her sewing school diploma or recommendation letter.
"My dear, Duke Wilson and the Chief of the Praetorian Guard both recommended you. What more do you need? Even if you don't know how to thread a needle, it's no problem." said Lady Denman.
Susan's face turned pink. She curtsied awkwardly and stepped back, following the maid out of the room.
The young court maid, wearing a light yellow court dress, stared at Susan with unconcealed curiosity.
Susan kept her smile and waited a little longer. But the young court maid was still staring at her motionlessly. Susan could not help but speak, "Look, I also only have one head and two eyes, don't I?"
The court maid averted her gaze with some embarrassment and muttered, "You can't blame me for that. Those girls will kill me if I don't look at you carefully."
"What?" Susan was taken aback.
