Cytharat glared at me as if I had just slaughtered his entire family. I couldn't understand why he was so angry. Yeah, I blew up his secret base but that is just a minor setback in the grand scheme of things.
*ChhhhTU*
He spit on the ground next to him, an expression of pure disdain decorating his face. "Yes, you will die. Not today though. Not even tomorrow. I will keep you barely breathing for weeks as I take away every little thing that makes you human."
I shrugged. "Seems like you're quite sadistic. I bet you like getting choked in bed."
His face twisted in ways I had never thought possible. After shivering in anger for just a second, he exploded forth, approaching me at great speeds.
In an attempt to block his wild strike, I moved to cross my sabers in front of me. Before I could cross them, his saber shot out like a snake, attacking my right lightsaber.
A wave of pain shot through my arm as the fresh blaster wound was stressed. Unable to properly support it, that arm flung to the side and I nearly dropped my lightsaber.
I quickly reacted, pushing through the pain and throwing my left arm forwards. This stabbing motion forced Cytharat to lunge backwards to avoid being skewered.
The jeering grin on his face incensed me. I couldn't resist the temptation so I rushed forwards into his inviting pose.
With one large step, I was in his face, battering him with my twin sabers. Each one carrying all of the strength my worn body could muster.
*BSHT* *BSHT* *BSHT* *BSHT*
Dozens of strikes were blocked by him with ease. The sweat on his body was more likely from the hot weather and flames rather than the lacking pressure my dueling skills applied.
He suddenly held his lightsaber upside down rather than upright as he had done with all of his blocks this far. With the slight angle it was held at, my lightsaber glided off of his and bounced towards the ground on my left.
My torso was now completely open. He took the invitation in stride, sending his lightsaber arcing towards my chest as if he wanted to break it open.
I quickly stepped to the right, swinging my right lightsaber upwards and barely buying myself enough time to move away from his strike. However, the duel was bound to change.
*BSHT* *BSHT*
His offensive was furious and unrelenting. Each strike was barbaric, just inches from rendering me crippled. Just one. That was how many missteps were required for me to be cut down.
*BSHT* *BSHT*
Each time he struck, his lightsaber would be lifted high and then swung down with great power. The speed with which he transitioned between strikes was incredible. He was truly skilled.
He then slowed for the slightest moment, adjusting his posture. His arms contorted and his lightsaber slithered between my arms and snuck through like a rat in the night.
His crimson saber snaked through and caught the bottom of my blade of light, sending my left arm flinging outwards. He was trying to do the same thing again. He wanted to sink his saber through my torso.
I quickly reacted by swinging my right saber upwards and luckily caught his before he could scorch me from the inside out. His plan was once again foiled.
Cytharat smirked. "Tenacious, aren't you? Let's kick this up a notch, shall we?"
He had barely finished speaking when he lunged towards me. The dark side rolled off him like a river. I felt a slight chill as I moved to hold my left saber horizontally in front of me.
*BSHT*
The power behind his strike was noticeably greater than before. I felt my left arm groan in protest as his lightsaber collided with mine. I was forced to take a step backwards to avoid giving him an easy kill strike.
However, that was the greatest mistake I could have made. This was yet another invitation I had sent him to move in.
*BSHT* *BSHT* *BSHT*
The sparks were flying as lights of purple and red collided. Flashes of white pierced through the dark and smoky night.
I had to push back. His strength was absurd and much greater than my own. I had to gamble it all on a risk or I wouldn't be able to survive.
Thus, I moved quickly, crossing my sabers before he could strike again. His saber landed clean in the intersection of my two sabers. My knees were forced to bend slightly upon impact. It took a lot of effort and pain, but our sabers were now locked.
Cytharat smirked. "I'm curious. What do you hope to accomplish with this? You're much too young and green to even wipe the sweat from my brow let alone duel me."
He then leaned forwards, pressing his lightsaber down and to my right. My right arm almost instantly gave out as his saber escaped from the deadlock.
The force he applied was so great that he sent my right lightsaber rolling across the floor. I was half way to being disarmed.
I leapt backwards, hoping to recovered and continue and he appeared to let me do so.
He pointed his saber towards me in a lacksidasical manner and grinned. "Well, what are you waiting for?"
I adjusted my posture, holding my remaining saber with both of my hands. I planted my feet on the ground a bit further than shoulder width and positioned my body sideways with my head facing him over my left shoulder.
I felt every nook and cranny of my lightsaber as I gripped it like my life depended on it. In a way, it really did.
Without any more hesitation, I charged forwards. With only ten feet between us, I arrived in less than a second. Raising it up to the right, I swung my saber downwards with all of my strength.
*BSHT*
An arc of purple and red collided as he mirrored my striked and fended it off with one hand on his saber. I then raised my saber to the left and repeated.
*BSHT*
Another brutal strike sent a flash of light racing through the smoke. I pulled my right elbow back and then shoved it forwards, sending my lightsaber piercing towards his chest.
*BSHT*
Without even the slightest bit of effort, Cytharat spun his saber and knocked mine away before returning with a strike of his own.
*BSHT*
The strength behind it nearly left me winded as I staggered slightly. My right hand was forced off of my lightsaber as it shot out to my left.
He then started to raise his saber on his right, preparing for another strike. I planted my feet, preparing to block as my right hand shot back to my lightsaber.
*DUUF*
"UGH!"
Out of nowhere, his foot struck my stomach in the exact spot I had been injured. I immediately was sent stumbling backwards with no control over my hands. The pain was unreal and I couldn't fight through it.
*PSH* *Tink*
A scorching sensation came through my left arm as the remaining purple light faded to darkness. I glanced down and the worst had happened. My left hand was gone.
