Chapter 70 - Sinking Into Despair

(Going back to schedule next week. Going to write and release as many chapters as I can this week. Some great news though, WebNovel is putting this on the Ongoing Novels highlights! I couldn't have done this without you guys!)

Before I could even process the loss of my hand, I felt myself being lifted into the air. Just a second later, the air rushed past me until I came to an abrupt stop.

*PANG* *COUGH* *THUD*

My body clapped against a shipping container, breaking several of my ribs instantly. Quickly filled with a splash of blood, I was forced to cough before I could even hit the ground. Blood splattered on the pavement, staining my clothes as I landed.

Darkness began to encroach on my vision as the pain was sending me into shock. My head was pounding, ringing like a bell with each strike of my pulsing pain.

Was this the end? Would I really lose all of this effort? What would happen to my master?

NO! I REFUSE! There has to be a way.

That voice that I came to hate suddenly entered my ears. "What's wrong? Can't play anymore? I was just starting to have fun. How disappointing."

I shifted slightly, pushing through the excruciating pain. As I spread my legs, I felt the outside of my right thigh pushing against something. I kept my cool for the moment as I slowly opened my eyes.

The black figure of my tormentor along with the red halo forming around him entered my struggling eyes. "Quite the pathetic lot. All of you Jedi, shackled by your rules. I've never understood it.

"You know, my master recently took another apprentice. She was a Jedi actually. Let me tell you, I've never seen such a happy Sith in my life. Quite an asset, that one. She has given us a lot and asked for so little. She was probably so happy to just be free from your oppressive order."

I struggled to sit up and leaned against the shipping container, staring him directly in the eyes. I felt some more blood in my throat.

*ChhhTU*

Blood was sent spraying towards him, landing on his feet as he had walked towards me while he talked. His face twisted in anger and he looked to struggle not to kill me instantly.

In the midst of his internal struggle, I made my move. My right hand shot towards my hip, grabbing the blaster that was unclipped and off safety. This was my only chance.

*BYUM* *BYUNG* *PSHT*

I watched the blue blaster bolt collide with his red lightsaber, forming a flash of purple light as the two came together. There was no suspense henceforth. My last hurrah had fallen on deaf ears. My life was truly forfeit.

Cytharat reached out with his right hand, the blaster instantly being pulled out of my hand. I had lost all of my strength. I was succumbing to the pain and wouldn't be surprised to pass out any second now.

My blaster landed in his palm, sticking like a magnet. He glanced down at it as if examining a piece of trash that had been picked off the ground.

His face, however, quickly changed into an expression of surprise before just as quickly swapping out for a smirk. "I don't believe you understand the scope of the irony with you having this blaster."

He took a deep breath before releasing the most disgusting and horrific giggle I had ever witnessed. "Oh, the Jedi that will die at the hands of this weapon. It brings a tear to my eye that I won't be able to do it with my own hands."

Cytharat then gripped it tight before swinging his arm and tossing it to the side. "Hehehe, that look on your face… UGHHHHHHHH! THE ECSTASY!"

I could barely remain conscious at this point. All my energy was put into fighting the despair that was rapidly encroaching.

Through my fading vision, I was able to see his face twist into a perverse grin. "Yes, that pain… GIVE INTO IT! FEED ME! HAHAHA!"

His face suddenly froze before he tilted his head and wore a curious expression. "Hehe, let's see the face under that mask. Shall we?"

He bent down and grabbed the half broken helmet that remained. My left eye and forehead were already visible but…

*BLEGH*

I heaved, spitting up anything my stomach could push out. The pain and dizziness came to a point as he jerked my head while pulling the helmet off.

His voice continued to grate against my ears. "HEH! You really are a pathetic fucking ant aren't you? A bit handsome, I will admit, but all that blood on your face is definitely what does the most."

The pain and nausea… It was just too much. I was giving up. Yeah, I would respawn. However, I still felt that I would lose something unrecoverable if I did die. Was there more to it?

Accepting my fate, I closed my eyes. I didn't have the energy to process his perverted rambling anymore.

I suddenly felt a searing heat beneath my nose. The smell of my nose hairs burning, the scorching air I was inhaling, the red glow bleeding through the darkness beneath my eyelids.

A slight shudder was all I gave him. I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of torturing me.

The light and heat soon disappeared. "UGH! SO BORING! Fine. I don't have all day. Any last words? On second thought, you don't deserve any."

I waited… and waited…. The seconds rolled by as I awaited my death. Was he messing with me? Well it's working!

I slowly opened my eyes to see Cytharat frozen with a shocked expression. With my field of vision so narrow, I had to move my eyes to check out the rest of his body.

Then, I saw it. Jutting out from his chest was a long piece of metal, covered in blood. "Huh?"

Those were his last words before he was violently tossed to the side, rolling across the ground for several feet and coming to a stop. He ended up with his back to me so I had no idea if he still drew breath.

With great struggle I panned back to where my red skinned tormentor had formerly stood. In his place was a sight for sore eyes. That was putting it lightly.

In that spot stood my favorite wookiee. I still didn't know their name or even what their gender was. All I knew is that I couldn't be happier to see them.

"THIS WAY! BLAST THEM!"

"AGGGHUHGGGGAGGG!"

*BYUM* *BYUM* *BYUM*

A symphony of red lights blazed in the dark and smoky night, forcing me to close my eyes as a migraine set it. There was blood loss somewhere, I just didn't know where and honestly didn't care.

My eyes began to close as I felt a pair of hairy hands lift me off the ground. The last thing I saw was a wookiee picking up my lightsabers and then running like hell. Oh yes, that one is a good boy.
